Via CNSNews.com:
In what marks a decisive difference in the presidential campaign, one day after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney called Jerusalem the capital of Israel, the White House asserted that Romneys position was different from that of the Obama administration.
Our view is that that is a different position than this administration holds. Its the view of this administration that the capital should be determined in final status negotiations between parties, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Monday.
I would remind you that that is the position that has been held by previous administrations both Democratic and Republican. So, if Mr. Romney disagrees with that position, he is also disagreeing with positions taken by previous presidents like Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, Earnest added.
On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney struggled during the afternoon press briefing to answer what the capital of Israel was, insisting reporters already knew the administrations policy and that the policy was not changed. Hours later he issued a written answer, stating it will be negotiated between Israel and Palestine.
..and campaign fundraisers
What parties? What they are apparently saying is that Israel is not a legitimate sovereign country. Why doesn't Obama just pull our ambassador and refuse to even recognize Israel? Is it because he needs the Jewish vote to win but after November of 2012 that is his plan?
That’s possible, but what percentage of Jewish people are they?
I think it will be around 65%. I guess we’ll see.
I’m Catholic, and they were over 50% in 2008. I hope they wake the hell up too.
Good for Romney, then.
Op-ed: Obama, who has repeatedly broken promises and sided with Islam, will do even more damage as second-term
In light of these statements, it is easy to understand why Obama chose to condemn the "disaster" of expanding a balcony in Gilo and the authorization of additional construction in Ramat Shlomo, just as it easy to explain his considerable efforts to force Israel to cede all its territorial assets including those in the heart of its capital. These declarations can also explain his decision to "shred" George W. Bush's promise to Ariel Sharon regarding the settlement blocs.
“I would remind you that that is the position that has been held by previous administrations both Democratic and Republican. So, if Mr. Romney disagrees with that position, he is also disagreeing with positions taken by previous presidents like Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, Earnest added.”
So?
Someone is finally taking the position Israel believes for once, thank goodness.
He probably thinks God is a bitter clinger.
Whatever the position of the Obama administration, it’s bound to change in about a week, when they’ll accuse Romney and his campaign of taking Carney and Obama’s words out of context.
What a hoot. I hope so too.
Just FYI — I’m having trouble connecting to the WeaselZippers.us site right now. Through the links here, and through Google search for the site, or other stories. It is telling me that it “Cannot Connect”. I hope it’s just a temporary glitch... Maybe a DOS attack or something?
ALSO: Google Cache is reporting a 404 error whenever I try to open a cached copy of the site/page.
I think Romney just found his next ad.
Maybe O will consider that quote taken out of context too?

“The question is not where Romney or Obama thinks it is. The question is where the Israelis think it is.”
Israel proclaimed Jerusalem as its capital in 1950
Sorry, Clinton was wrong, Reagan was wrong, Bush was wrong and now Obama is wrong.
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Romney is right.
Maybe we should be asking the Obama Administration is they recognize Israel’s right to exist?
“This literally gives me chills. Does Dumbama know who he is messing with?”
Obama, like many before him through the centuries, is believing the lies of pride and ambition which are being whispered into his ear....but it always ends in the same way:
The Lord will have compassion on Jacob;
once again he will choose Israel
and will settle them in their own land.....
....How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart,
I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.
But you are brought down to the realm of the dead,
to the depths of the pit. Isaiah 14:1,12-14
What is really disgusting is that the majority of American Jews will vote for Obama - again.
On the headline: first, who cares?
Second, what DOESN’T outrage the “Palestinians”?
Glad to hear it — but I admit I’m surprised!
...Unlike the classic Dickens work, this week's presidential campaign was a tale of one city Jerusalem, and the different way it was handled by the two different campaigns, One handled it as if this was the age of foolishness, the other as the age of wisdom. One refused to give its position on Israels capital publicly; the other stood in front of the panorama of the holy city over his shoulder and pronounced the city Israels capital. During Thursdays daily press briefing White House Press Secretary Jay Carney wouldnt answer a simple question and turned the Q & A session into something out of an Abbot and Costello routine:
Reporter: What city does this Administration consider to be the capital of Israel? Jerusalem or Tel Aviv? Jay
Carney: Um... I haven't had that question in a while. Our position has not changed. Can we, uh...
Reporter: What is the capital [of Israel]?
Jay Carney: You know our position.
Reporter: I don't. Lester Kinsolving, World Net Daily: No, no. She doesn't know, that's why she asked.
Carney: She does know.
Reporter: I don't
Kinsolving: She does not know. She just said that she does not know. I don't know.
Carney: We have long, lets not call on... Kinsolving: Tel Aviv or Jerusalem?
Carney: You know the answer to that.
Kinsolving: I don't know the answer. We don't know the answer. Could you just give us an answer? What do you recognize? What does the administration recognize?
Carney: Our position has not changed.
Kinsolving: What position?
I guess he’s “evolved”.
Romney just lost the Palestinian vote! /sarc?
doesn’t US law recognize Jerusalem as the capitol?
1st by appealing to Jews ( many Democrats ) who in their gut know Israel is getting a short changed from our dear leader.
2nd, Poles, many who are here who are Jewish, as well as many Blue Collar Catholic's of Polish Decent (and recent immigrants) in WI, PA, MI and maybe even IL.
But he is not just pandering.
He is going their like he did @ the NAACP meeting and appeal to them unapologetically By believing in the right things, Liberty in a nutshell and standing by our Allies...This will catch on at some point, more important, their will be a buzz between those that have relatives their and the word will spread over here..
Good Job Governor, go around the Lib-Media...
Thje question is what IS the capital of israel. It IS jerusalem. Any future change as a result of negotiations is up to israel
Is this the same White House that can’t prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Obama was born in the U S or A?
s'OK, the goathumpers won't vote for him anyway...
Romney has drawn blood on Obama again.
Just another lie to get elected. There currently is a law on the books requiring the US Embassy to be moved to Jerusalem. Each President going back many occupants has signed an executive order periodically, in order to delay that move.
Romney has taken a stand that, if elected he will make that move. The Administration, led by Muslim sympathizers has taken a 190 degree turn from what has been American policy for many administrations.
And yet the vast majority of jews will claw over each other yet again just to say that they voted for obama again first....
Idiots. God bless the smart ones.
Good find! So obamma agrees with Romney! Romney needs to bring this up!
The Obama White House trying to throw Israel under the bus again.
If he only gets 50%, we win. Anything less than 70% is a win in Florida.
On Obama’s first day in office, one of the first phones call he made - as American leader was to Palestinian President.
http://m.nydailynews.com/1.422639
Let’s hope he gets below those percentages on both instances.
Romney’s right and the dummies in the WH are wrong.....as they are on most (well, all) issues!
Wikipedia does.
That would make a great part of a great campaign ad.
Have Carney stumbling and stalling, then Carney stating it will be negotiated between Israel and Palestine, then obama saying Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.
Then the announcer saying, "They don't seem to have any idea, do they? Not so great on foreign policty, are they?"
Obama Clarifies Remarks on Jerusalem
Updated 9:10 p.m. By Glenn Kessler
Facing criticism from Palestinians, Sen. Barack Obama acknowledged today (5 June 2008) that the status of Jerusalem will need to be negotiated in future peace talks, amending a statement earlier in the week that Jerusalem "must remain undivided."

Hahahahaha!!
and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled
