You’re correct. He said she was a mistake. Like an unplanned pregnancy that should have been aborted. But I could be taking this wrong.

He said she both lacked the qualifications (and that 2 years as Alaska governor was not enough) AND that it was a mistake to pick her.

This is why his own daughter refuted his contentions. He was definitely straightforward and initiated the points in his discussions with ABC News' Jonathan Karl (it wasn't like they pressed Cheney and he felt cornered - he brought it up all on his own).

Well Cheney had better chose his words more carefully in the future because his national “sound bite” is running locally. Absolutely disgusting!
