Palin's Qualifications to Serve in White House Should Not Be Questioned

Lloyd Marcus, the Chairman of leading conservative group Campaign to Defeat Obama PAC released the following statement today in response to an ABC news report that former Vice President Dick Cheney criticized Sarah Palin’s qualifications to serve in the White House:

“To suggest that Sarah Palin does not possess the necessary qualifications to serve in the White House is ridiculous on its face. Ever since she was selected in 2008 by the Republican party’s nominee for president, then ratified by the GOP membership at the Republican Party convention, she has proven time and time again to be an extremely capable, inspiring and visionary leader.

“Palin has proven her mettle in the years since 2008. She has become one of the most prominent and vocal leaders of the tea party movement, and her campaign efforts have single-handedly influenced the outcome of countless senatorial, congressional and gubernatorial elections because the American people believe in her leadership skills and trust her judgment. They know that she knows a great leader when she sees one because she herself is a great leader.

“Contrast that with the disastrous record Barack Obama has compiled since 2008. Obama has failed the people of this nation and brought harm to our economy, national defense and the American spirit.

Campaign to Defeat Obama Vice Chair Andrea Shea King concluded:

“Sarah Palin will never be the safe choice of the GOP establishment blue bloods.

"In bucking the ‘good old boys’ throughout her entire career and proving that she could rack up accomplishments and make big differences -- as both an executive in office and a citizen activist and Tea Party leader -- she has proven she is more valuable than the whole lot of them.

"Sarah Palin’s record and leadership abilities speak for themselves and anybody would do better to emulate them than to marginalize themselves by taking swipes at her.”

“ The Left and their allies in the media will always try to personally malign conservatives for their own political purposes, but it is our responsibility to not only prevent ourselves from being sucked into these tricks and giving credence to these baseless attacks, but also to proactively fight back. This proud American conservative will not stand for these despicable sneering smears against Sarah Palin, and no conservative should.”

Seems to me that Mr Cheney has created an even wider schism between the GOPe and conservative Tea Party. You know my solution for solving the problem.....Romney/Palin
She'd be in position for president in four.

You're trying to make me vote for Romney!

NO! Not Sarah again. TOP of the TICKET ONLY for her.

Oh Sarah...why oh why didn’t you run??

One of my biggest disappointments was that Sarah opted not to run. The Left truly feared this lady.

I don’t think Dick Cheney said Sarah was unqualified.

Can we quit allowing the Lamestream Media to steer our emotions and mindset?

You’re correct. He said she was a mistake. Like an unplanned pregnancy that should have been aborted. But I could be taking this wrong.

I am sorry hoosiermama, it is not a question of us Conservatives wanting to make peace with the GOP, they have made it clear they do not want us.

FReeper cripplecreek has the quote about some Top GOP guy saying that he nor any of his Republicans friends will vote for someone backed by the Tea Party.

THEY are the ones who need moderating NOT us, we have made too may retreats and too many compromises with the Progressives in the GOP, and look what that has brought us, Ubama, and no force of will to stand up to him.

But even now I am willing to make the GOP a deal to regain my support: have this woman, at the top of your ticket.

Then we can talk about making deals with the GOP again.

He said she both lacked the qualifications (and that 2 years as Alaska governor was not enough) AND that it was a mistake to pick her.

This is why his own daughter refuted his contentions. He was definitely straightforward and initiated the points in his discussions with ABC News' Jonathan Karl (it wasn't like they pressed Cheney and he felt cornered - he brought it up all on his own).

Of the four people running for President and Vice President in 2008, she was the only one who had any real qualification for executive office. She had at least been a governor and a mayor. McStain? He was XO of a fighter squadron for a little bit. President Zero? Had no qualifications for executive office whatsoever. Same with Biden the Dumb. If she were to run, I’d vote for her merely in the hopes that I could watch the heads explode of all her detractors, since there is no way should could possibly do worse than the current resident of the White House.

I was almost ready to quietly ignore jimrob and vote for Romney, figuring that was the least of two evils. That old “anything but Obama” business.

But Cheney reminded me what we are up against. We need to defeat the GOPe. Romney worked HARD to destroy Sarah, and it was done in a very personal manner, not just as a Harvard policy wonk debate.

Even worse, im used to the GOP flipping conservatives the finger after elections. But BEFORE? F-U GOPe,, if you want my vote, you damned well better earn it. Kissing some serious Sarah ass is a nice place to start. Not bbecause i worship her,,but because she is the closest politician to my thinking that im aware of. If you view HER that way, you view ME that way.

FU Cheney, you gay marriage-loving, draft-dodging, chickenhawk, open borders turd.

The fact is that after four years of the current idiot occupying the White House, the idea of anyone, short of the mentally retarded, not being "qualified" is laughable. By the election of Obama, the bar has been lowered to the point that there is no bar anymore.

No, sorry, the GOPe detests conservatives in general and Sarah in particular. She is an existential threat to them as much as to the dems. Why would they embrace her? They would rather lose their ill-conceived gambit with Mitt than let her anywhere near the levers of control. If Sarah does ever become the Presidential nominee for the GOP, it would be a flat out miracle, and would imply that almost all GOPe heads had exploded and they were therefore no longer in power. I do believe in miracles. I don’t believe presumption.

I am sick and tired of supposedly “our side” attacking and dissing our conservative leaders in front of the liberal media. It’s a pattern that goes back years ago when the Establishment was attacking Goldwater and then years later putting down Reagan, calling him an embarrassment to the glee of the legacy media. Again, they are supposedly on “our side”? Our side that anonymously tried to bring Sarah down right in the middle of a Presidential campaign in 2008? “our side” that consistently dismiss the Tea party? Our side that backstab us again and again?

The question should be rather who’s side is “our side” on?

Sarah Palin is a wonderful human being and an excellent leader; which is precisely why the Leftist press went to such lengths to trash her - but the real shame is reserved to those Republicans who didn’t come to her aid.
