The news of Cheneys interview airing on ABC tomorrow morning (Monday) on GMA is making its Sunday-rounds. The MSM couldnt be happier.
While the entire interview has yet to be released, it appears Mr. Cheney has decided to do his part for his establishment-buddies by attacking his own partys last VP nominee in lieu of going after the nations biggest elected mistake of all time Barack Obama. In response, good conservatives all across the web are responding.
Mark Levin stated this morning: (emphasis)
John McCain ran a terrible campaign; the Bush-Cheney administration had become very unpopular with the American people, including many Republicans; and the Bush-Cheney administration was every bit as activist when it came to expanding domestic spending and government activism as the Nixon administration. The continuing attacks on leaders of grassroots conservatives by the Republican establishment, especially former Bush administration officials, need to end now. They got their nominee and they need to focus on Obama.
Tony Lee over at Breitbart said:
Cheney, who led the vice presidential search that picked Nelson Rockefeller for Gerald Fords VP, is probably more comfortable with a vice presidential candidate who has similar establishment bona fides to Rockefeller, which Palin obviously lacks.
Cheney said about Palin:
"I dont think she passed that test of being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake.
He might have a point.
Apparently, Palins not ready to sit in an administration for eight years which added 5 trillion dollars to our unpaid debt basically demoralizing the spirit of conservatism leading to four years of Barack Obama. Cheney was ready for that, wasnt he?
Palins not ready to engage in cronyism which dictates who shed appoint to lifetime positions on the Supreme Court or to head federal emergency agencies like FEMA. Bush & Cheney were ready for that, werent they?
Palin is ready to balance a budget since she did it in Alaska.
Palin is ready to increase benefits for our esteemed elders while cutting out wasteful spending existing all across our federal government since she did similar things in Alaska.
Palin is ready to call out entrenched special interests like she did when she served up a little justice to the Republican Partys good old boys and their dealings with big oil. She did that in Alaska, too. Palins ready to unabashedly call out Barack Obama. This includes pointing out his past associations, his reckless squandering of billions of our dollars to pay back his Wall Street friends (just as Bush/Cheney once did), and his plans to whip Americans into Greece-like big-government submission. This is in contrast to the establishments plans to hold back.
Palins ready to endorse countless candidates for the Congress. Shes been successful at using her enormous grassroots influence to pull a great deal of them across the finish line.
Palins not ready to fall in line with the establishment. Until any candidate (including our perceived front-runner) demonstrates a full willingness to truly unify with the partys grassroots, dont count on her to make deals behind closed doors or hold high-priced fundraisers at her home.
Considering everything Bush & Company were ready for, its no wonder why Barack Obama was ever put in the position of becoming President of our great Republic. Now of course, he must be fired.
But after observing the behavior of Cheney, Sununu, and other Romney surrogates, it might serve the interest of the American people to ask whether or not Romney is truly ready to do that considering the company he chooses to keep.
...and these jerks want me to vote for Romney. Yah, right! Doesn’t Cheney know that you don’t insult the conservatives until AFTER the election?
Dick must have had some godless liberal’s heart implanted into his chest as he spoke out against Sarah Palin and endorsed Sodomite Marriage.
I like Cheney, I like Palin but obviously Cheney had 100 times her experience and he thinks that’s important.
With all of the GOOBers, who are supposed to be on “our side”, constantly ripping and blasting Republicans in the “media”, I really don’t see why this country even needs DemocRATS.
I used to like Cheney, but after his daughter “married” her girlfriend with his blessing, I lost all respect for him.
I really have no tolerance for anti Dick Cheney comments. Further, his comment on Sarah Palin has not a damn thing to do with Romney. I’m sure Cheney thinks he’s better than all of them.
I’ve said all along the GOP doesn’t intend to win the white house. America is a mess and fixing it will require heavy lifting that will bring unrest and they don’t want anything to do with that.
Every candidate other than Romney would have been a far better action candidate but the GOP wanted a soft non threatening globalist who won’t rock the boat.
Love how those of you who criticize Cheney don’t realize YOU are turning on a conservative. He expressed his opinion and good for him. Who cares.
Never could have remotely imagined it a few short years ago, but I’m now 100% convinced that the GOP establishment would VASTLY prefer to live under an Obama presidency as opposed to a Republican one headed by Palin and/or the tea party. I have absolutely ZERO trust in the GOP leadership nowadays, regardless of issue.
Where is Cheney’s executive experience? When did he ever balance any budget saved for maybe his own family checking account while W. Bush spent the nations money crazy like a drunken sailor. Cheneys experience is sitting by allowing cronyism and government growth go unabated all of his time in D.C.
I propose that dementia be known as Dick’s Disease.
Give 'em what they want and stick your finger in their eye in the process.
Cheney expressing the opinion that a more experienced vp candidate is better cannot remotely equal his not wanting to win the White House. It is the exact opposite, it is a solid approach to winning the White House.
I like Cheney - smart fellow. I like the daughter who appears on Fox News. The other daughter, none of my business.
Sarah’s polarizing for some reason. I don’t doubt that the cause is “fear”, the libs fear her. Problem is that they’re loud, obnoxious, rude and will lie through 6 sets of teeth and shout if from every rooftop. They’re brainwashed and they brainwash the weak around them.
LLS
Palin supports Condi Rice for VP and she loves McCain. Sarah is not one of us. Get over it.
I don't know, "Does" they really?
How dare Cheney have an opinion. Is that even allowed?
Cheney must have got a liberal rino heart.

Oh, please. Yes, Cheney wants to fire Obamugabe.
The quotes I’ve read from Cheney aren’t an attack on Palin...he compliments Palin, but says a two-year tenure as a governor isn’t sufficient, in his opinion, to be the VEEP.
How is that out of line? It isn’t.
Yes, Palin had more executive experience than Biden or Obama or McCain...which says she was more experienced than any of them, but still not experienced enough in the opinion of Cheney.
One COULD take Cheney’s comments to be more complimentary of Palin and more critical of the other three candidates.
G.W. Bush had 5+ years of governorship of Texas.
Reagan had 8 years of a governorship of California.
Clinton had 8 years of a governorship of Arkansas.
The modern record is pretty clear: governors with a MORE THAN ONE TERM are best suited to the Presidency. (No, I don’t consider Clinton a great President, but he was a two term President like the others.)
Which of course gives one pause for Romney: he only has had ONE term as a governor. But I also believe Romney’s private sector experience makes him a much better choice than Obamugabe.
But I digress.
We conservatives do not do ourselves a favor when we “rush” candidates into the national spotlight. Let our governors succeed for a couple of terms: Walker, Christie, Haley, Scott, McDonnell, Jindal...then when they’ve built a solid record (like Reagan!!!) then they can take their place in the national debate.
I love Sarah, I’ve given to SarahPAC, and I enthusiastically voted for her in 2008. But she is doing God’s work where she is now, and I think it is absurd for us to attack people who, while they like her (didn’t Dick Cheney say that, too?), also believe she wasn’t as fully prepared as she could have been?
Also, anyone find it amazing that SUDDENLY the Obamugabe ass kissing media now is INTERESTED in what Dick Cheney thinks?? :)
Ya know what partner? I think you are right.
The GOP wopuld rather exist under Obama than Sarah Palin.
Sarah cleaned out the crappy Republicans in Canada as well as the crappy Democrats, and the crappy Republicans in Washington don’t want that happening.
These are the same folks that use to go to the media and bemoan how they were embarrassed about Reagan....some things never change
Hmm, vp, sec of defense, chief of staff, congress.
You’re right, no good experience there.
Some of us are so childish. So he wouldn’t go the Sara Palin route, boo hoo woe is me. It means Cheney is an evil RINO. /s
I would vote for Palin for president, but probably for Cheney first. Big deal get over it.
No more impotent than you are to stop his criticism of Palin.
DICK CHENEY: JOHN MCCAIN MADE A MISTAKE CHOOSING SARAH PALIN FOR RUNNING MATE
McCain would not have gotten half the votes he did if it hadn’t been for Sarah. Cheney smart? Define smart. Bill Clinton is smart but I would trust him as far as I could throw him.
Dick Cheney can go stuff it. Why say anything about Palin? What good does that do, Dick?
You really revealed yourself this time.
Of course it is. He was allowed to pick himself as VP when working on that assignment for president-elect George W. Bush.
I’m not questioning Cheney’s conservatism, I’m questioning his intellect.
Anyone who followed the 2008 election and is unable to comprehend that a) Palin was the only chance McCain had of winning, and b) McCain restrained Palin to the point of flushing that chance down the toilet (all by himself), simply fails the intellect test.
Maybe it’s his age; maybe we’ve just been snowed by him in the past. Whatever it is, what he’s saying now is very stupid. He’s either senile or he had a lot of help covering up his low IQ in the past.
For the sake of his good memory I’m willing to accept the senile defense.
Cheney is not conservative except in some areas, he is part of the Romney/Rove wing of the GOP which has proven that they will give up seats and elections to stop Palin and the Reagan wing of the GOP.
Remember that Cheney is a social liberal who supported homosexualizing the military.
The establishment republicans are little more than Dem Lite infiltrating the GOP. They go after their own with as much zeal and the democrats do. We will not get America back until they have all been tossed from the Nation and state capitols.
Makes one wonder what he thought of the experience of Abraham Lincoln before he became President.
If you were honest with yourself-neither McCain nor Palin were qualified.McCain was running his mouth in 68 and beyond. Palin had no clue where certain foreign countries were just like a kid who failed geography. She was not very bright about history either.I hate to admit it but Romney got an MBA plus a JD from Harvard and he was not AA.
What, is Canada about the 56th of the 57 States or something?
Agree. Cheney needs to shut up. We paid for enough heart surgeries that he owe’s us millions.
:)
What you said. I love Sarah Palin but let’s face it she also did little to boost her experience creds by quitting the governorship after the election. More power to her but she kind of played into Cheney’s point.
Now I should vote for Gary Johnson and reelect Obama bc Dick Cheney said a more experienced vp is the way to go? Some of the stuff here is delusional.
Dick Cheney could stab a voodoo doll of Reagan on tv for all I care, I am voting for Romney and very much AGAINST Obama.
I didn’t say he didn’t have any experience but having “politics as usual” experience in D.C. instead of at least attempting turn the GOP away from being Democrat-lite isn’t worth squat with the fine mess that both parties have gotten us into. Sarah has always been battling those corrupt forces in the party, I can’t say that about Cheney
Seems like we may have also received some pump head as a bonus.
I usually agree with Cheney, but here I can’t help but believe another agenda is at work. After all, he can’t think that Idiot Joe Biden is ready to take over, can he?!?!
Repeating a lie does nothing to make it the truth, only conventional wisdom. Besides, why is it so important she knows exactly where Shiraz is located anyway. What is more important is that the pilot knows.
LLS: BS. Try Huffington Post.
I think I can count on one hand the number of Republicans I like and respect. I really wish we had a viable conservative third party.
Well it’s outlandish to say but Lincoln made lots of mistakes.
For the record, I would elect Palin president. She might be a breath of fresh air with her “inexperience”. I just don’t have to turn on Cheney, and especially on Romney, over Cheney’s comment.
Politically, I don’t think Cheney should have said it but he’s a cranky old so and so. I can live with that.
If Romney were born to more common middle class parents he may have earned an MBA and JD but likely not at Harvard. The fact that his father was a governor, president of a major corporation and a U.S. cabinet member surely helped in the Harvard Department of Admissions.
