Fully agree. The amnesia fits right in with that idea also.
The pictures I saw of the bloody footprints did not lead from the theater doors to his car. One picture clearly showed the footprints leading up the sidewalk away from his car.
BTW, I too am a admirer of Thomas Sowell.
So you support "death panels" for those who suffer from serious,chronic,brain disorders? I have a (fairly,at least) serious,and chronic,heart disorder.Should I be put down too?
He must have remembered being there, because he wanted to know how the movie ended.
He can claim anything he wants, and I will not be too concerned about it. He will not get out into society, ever. His only options are death penalty, the supermax prison in Colorado, or a mental institution. Probably the mental institution option seems better. But he will never be a free man any more than Charles Manson.

Those footprints belong to the victims. They ran out of that exit door. Police also took some of the victims in their squad cars so the prints could have been from a victim who was helped by police.
The shooter probably never saw any prints. He was most possibly in custody by then.
Someone willing to kill innocent people is also willing to lie...

The death panel involved will be a jury, but the bottom line is, that if you’ve killed by direct action, then a medical condition is NOT an excuse. . .

So you lack the imagination needed to understand that there just might be physiological...genetic...structural disorders of the brain,or disorders caused by one or more brain injuries that might absolve the sufferer of moral responsibility for such a deed? To give one example...Charles Whitman,the young guy who killed all those people at the University of Texas in the 60's,was killed at the end of his standoff.An autopsy was done on him and they found a brain tumor in an area of the brain that's vital in controlling behavior.Are you *sure* that *he* was morally responsible for his acts at the time?
You are nutz. When someone kills 10 people and maims even more he should get the death penalty. Crazy or not crazy he needs the death penalty. Matter of fact craziness and possible organic brain disorders are irrelevant to me. I don’t seek to understand him or his condition.

I, frankly do not give three-fifths of a squirt of lukewarm urine for any “medical conditions” the Aurora Killer may or may not have had.
He engineered and planned, over a period of months, his preparations to do his mass attack AND rig his apartment with an intricate series of traps, designed to kill or maim anyone who entered his apartment, likely first responders.
THAT is what you put him down for. Active, premeditated actions over an extended period of time that killed, by design, multiple innocents, and could have killed many more.
Your “defect” argument is specious: he was sufficiently functional to do all the prep over a period of MONTHS.
A request to anyone on this thread who might have had the misfortune of having a loved one who suffered from chronic schizophrenia to weigh in here.I've never experienced it in a family member but 20 years working in a large hospital's ER has caused me to see it,up close and personal,and to also meet several parents of these patients and hearing bits of *their* stories.

The child in this video,suffering from a serious,biological,brain disorder (rabies) could be considered a "mad dog".If he were to injure someone in this state how would you "deal with" him?
