Star Parker: Chick-fil-A protest could set back gay activism
ocregister.com ^ | 7/28/2012 | Star Parker

The current hate campaign being waged by homosexual activists against fast food chain Chick-fil-A, because of the firm's Christian values, may well turn out to be a bridge too far. The effort may prove to be a setback for homosexual activism.

The vile attacks on the firm and its owners, the Cathy family, should make clear, finally, that the "gay rights" movement is not about refining and advancing American freedom, but about rewriting American values and advancing, not freedom, but the homosexual political agenda.

--snip--

When Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy made his now famous incendiary admission that "we are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit," he was not pontificating. He was responding to a question in an interview done in a paper I expect is not read by many homosexuals – the Baptist Press.

Never mind. It was sufficient provocation that Cathy publicly admitted that the Bible defines his understanding of marriage – the unique bond of man and woman – which also happens to be the standard definition in dictionaries on the shelves of every American home and library.

No kidding. I predict a huge backlash.

Time for Christians to rise up in support of Mr. Cathy’s right to express his Biblical world view.

My term for these “activist boycotts” is “Wyle E. Coyote Boycotts”. The safe always lands on their heads and that stuff from the Acme Bomb Co. always blows them up. But, hey, I never get tired of watching the cartoon.

Acquiescence will soon change that but hey, it means
a new dictionary for everyone and that means JOBS! /s.

Star is right. This is all about the intolerance of the totalitarian Homosexual political machine. They don’t want to be tolerated. They want to tell others what to think even when it has no bearing on the topic at hand (a restaurant selling chicken). Make no mistake the Democrats and their “Gay” gang are attacking liberty in a big way. And even if you don’t give two hoots about same gender sex, we’re still a free country where we do not have to support their agenda.

“My term for these “activist boycotts” is “Wile E. Coyote Boycotts”. The safe always lands on their heads and that stuff from the Acme Bomb Co. always blows them up.”

But like Wile E., they miraculously regenerate themselves & come back to cause more trouble.

I mean, whoever watched the coyote plummet a mile to the canyon floor & disappear in the impact cloud, and then said, “That’s it, he’s done for. Wile E. really bought the farm this time. Might as well switch to Tom & Jerry.”

;^)

“The current hate campaign...”

And here I thought we’d outlawed hate speech in this country.

...”a bridge too far...”

Indeed, just as the Occupy movement was a bridge too far.

Liberal officeholders can’t help but jump onto the wrong side of these brouhaha’s, and eventually that’s going to cost them, as they find themselves farther and farther outside the mainstream of opinion, but fully in the mainstream of their liberal acquaintences.

Someone needs to pin down Farrakhan, Maxine Waters, Sharpton, Jesse Jackson (both of them), et al, and get them on the record on this. Let’s see which way they “swing” on the issue.

It’s time for this chit to stop while we still have a few morals left in this world.

We are watching the destruction of our Military, our schools, our values.

I have read Cathy’s statement over several time, and there is nothing “incendiary” about it.

People who react so violently as the pro-gays are doing seem to be suffering to a huge inferiority complex. If the really thought that nothing is “wrong” about what they are doing they would go on living their lives instead of trying to force the rest of us to agree with them.

Being “tolerant” is one thing, being a patsy is another; I’m not a big opera fan, but I don’t see those who are going bananas because it’s not my cup of tea.

Personal acceptance, or the lack thereof, is not discrination in the strictest sense of the word. Any thinking person makes their own choices as it affects them, for the most part.

Being gay might be the new “chic” in liberal circles, but to me it’s an abberition and is abnormal.

Even if the Bible didnt say it is a sin, the basic, physical makeup of the male and female body should give even the least mechanically inclined moron some clue as how they are supposed to function.

The gay lobby is trying to “push” a rope, and that can’t be done. They push, but are generally ignored, but if they push too hard, the people will push back.

So here we all are in the 21st Century having to argue over the definition and intent of marriage. Progressives our ash—we have regressed into immorality driven by the wild goats on the Left. Anyone who cobbles up with and for them will be recorded as the advocates of hades by the ultimate Supreme Court of the Universe.

We aren’t going to stand against it.

I know a gay couple who recently got “married” at one of the Venetian wedding chapels.

Laura, sitting in for BOR, had some clown on last night, going WAY out of his way to play the victim.
As though any statement that doesn’t endorse and promote homosexual behavior and marriage, is some grave offense and attack, deserving of banishment to Death Valley.

I’m tired of being told I should accept disgusting public behavior, as though I’m the one with the problem.

No kidding it’s about time. It’s also about time we started using the biblical term for these people as well... Sodomites.

The left has made a big miscalculation. They sped up their slow but steady creep into total socialism, which had been working well for them for the past 50 years.

When obama opened the floodgates of “progressivism” the public as a whole didn’t react as it should have. So then the lefties got greedy. The unions, gays, anti-business, OWS, black racists, etc. went berserk and assumed that under obama, anything goes.

NOW people are starting to catch on and it’s not going to go so well. People are waking up to the fact that their financial well-being is taking a hit because of these people.
