Mayor Ed Lee warns Chick-fil-A against coming to San Francisco
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 07/27/2012 | Paolo Lucchesi

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee has joined in the growing chorus condemning Chick-fil-A for the national chicken chain’s much-publicized anti-gay views.

After mayors in Boston and Chicago recently expressed their disapproval with Chick-fil-A and its intolerance, Lee followed suit and took to his Twitter account late yesterday, firing off two successive tweets. The first one conveys his disappointment with the chain’s lack of values, and the second one takes it up a notch, suggesting that Chick-fil-A don’t even think about opening in San Francisco.

Lee is referring to the Chick-fil-A in Fairfield. Closer locations are in the works, with planned locations in Walnut Creek and San Jose. Furthermore, the Press Democrat reports that the forthcoming Santa Rosa Chick-fil-A, which just got city approval in May, can expect plenty of opposition from the town:

I think it prudent to warn everyone about going to San Francisco.

I wandered down the wrong street and got felt up by a transsexual hooker in broad daylight.

Something about a “tenderloin”?

Of course he doesn’t want Chick-fil-A in San Fran.

It may take business away from the hometown chain of
Dude-Fell-Ate.

I wouldn’t set foot in San Fran Buttpoke without being in a full biohazard suit. But I really do not want to ever go there in this lifetime, anyway. Not while it’s infested the way it currently is.

Haven’t any of these a-holes read the 1st Amendment? A government can’t discriminate against a private business because of the political or religious views of its manager.

These must be his 'values' ... Warning...X RATED

He can keep them. I wouldn't want to 'soil' his city.

LMBO!!
"Take your food and your jobs elsewhere!"

Seriously, why would a fanchise with strong traditional American values even consider locating in a sick, AIDS-infected toilet like San Francisco?

Did the reporter write this with a straight face?

This "reporter", like most employees of the San Fransicko Chronicle, is very likely a faggot.

“A friend of mine and I were talking yesterday about this topic and she said that she wonders if the left isn’t agitating for a civil war? “

I think a lot of people are wondering what your friend was wondering.

I think Ed Lee is trying to re-establish a bit of his “progressive” credentials after alienating people with his unrelenting pursuit of suspended Sheriff Ross Smirkirimi.

Maybe to serve 80-85 percent of the SF population that is heterosexual?

There is a lot wrong with SF, but it is still a nice place to visit. If you are looking for depravity you will certainly find it--especially at certain times of the year.

Lee’s pursuit of Mirkirimi was stupid. Not sure that it was either progressive or conservative, though. He should have let the process take it’s course. If anything, I think Lee’s efforts helped Mirkirimi.

No...I believe he is talking about exactly what he wrote: SF is a shit hole. Perhaps some reading comprehension is in order.

“After mayors in Boston and Chicago recently expressed their disapproval with Chick-fil-A and its intolerance, Lee followed suit “

Someone needs to buy these idiot political hacks a dictionary so they can find out the meaning of intolerance. Since all could be poster boys for the word it would seem a good idea!

I wouldn’t go to San Francisco on a bet. There isn’t enough money to entice me to go there. Hey mayor: Go to Hell! I’m sure you’ll get there anyway without my prayer. (Yes I petition God to send people to hell)

I’m not sure why a well established business would even want to expand in an anti-business enviroment ?

It’s very possibly a civil war could break out. Let’s face it; Obama has done a great job in creating so much class warfare that all it will take is just the right sort of crisis ignite it.

Human excrement closes BART escalators

Published: 7/27 5:41 am

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Human excrement is gumming up the wheels and gears of some escalators servicing Bay Area Rapid Transit stations in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that BART station stairwells have become a common place for homeless people to sleep overnight or relieve themselves.

When crews pulled out a broken escalator at the Civic Center station last month, they found such a high volume of feces they called a hazardous materials team.

BART officials recently spoke with San Francisco authorities about how to clean up the 16th Street plaza, and spokesman Jim Allison says that conversation also could encompass the downtown stairwells.

In addition to creating unpleasant smells, officials say waste can close escalators for extended repairs and increase station cleaning costs. There are many other reasons why escalators break down.
