EXCLUSIVE: ‘Dark Knight’ shooting suspect James Holmes claims amnesia
ny daily news ^ | 7/26 | By Matthew Lysiak In Aurora, Colo. AND Larry Mcshane / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

The Joker is playing the amnesia card.

Accused mass murderer James Holmes told jailhouse workers that he remains stumped about what landed him in a Colorado lockup, a jail staffer told the Daily News.

“He claims he doesn’t know why he’s in jail,” the worker said Thursday. “He asked, ‘Why am I here?’”

Holmes, 24, who is charged with shooting a dozen people to death and wounding 58 more at a screening of the new Batman movie, was also complaining of a stomach ache caused by lousy jail food after his sixth day at the Arapahoe County Detention Center, the worker said.

“He’s claiming his belly hurts him,” the worker said. “He complained once that he didn’t like the food . . . The guy killed 12 people, and he’s upset that he’s not getting a four-star meal?”

The former California honor student picks at his meals on some days, and doesn’t eat at all on others. A typical breakfast would include sausage and grits, while lunch could mean a ham sandwich.

Holmes was arrested in the parking lot of the Century 16 multiplex in Aurora, Colo., within minutes of his bloody rampage early Friday through a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Holmes surrendered without incident to police.

The suspect remains under 23-hour lockdown, leaving his cell just once a day. Authorities fear that other inmates could target Holmes and have him wear a bulletproof vest during his daily walk.

The jail worker said most folks inside the county lockup consider Holmes’ memory loss a ruse.

“He needs to save his act for the jury because no one here is buying it,” the worker said. “Everyone is convinced he is faking it.”

Published reports indicated that Holmes mailed a notebook filled with gruesome sketches and details of his plans for the attack in the crowded theater.

The notebook was in a package sent to a professor at the University of Colorado, where Holmes was a Ph.D. candidate until dropping out of school just prior to the killings.

The FBI snapped up the evidence after school officials notified them that the package was at the university.

In a statement, the university denied a report that the package sat in its mailroom for a week before the shooting spree.

The package was delivered by the U.S. Postal Service on the Monday after the shootings, and forced the evacuation of a campus building for 2 1/2 hours, the statement said.

The notebook and the rest of the contents were turned over to investigators within hours of the package’s discovery, the university said.

It’s become more common nowadays for inmates to bribe prison guards to smuggle even firearms into the jails.

Don’t worry James, you won’t remember it when the executioner throws the switch either...

“Having had a very close relative who was a paranoid schizophrenic, I can tell you that this is not at all unusual. One of the reasons my relative never got treatment was that at times, she seemed perfectly sane - but this was essentially her “crazy self” that was telling her that it was time to act sane for one reason or another (usually an encounter with law enforcement).”

I have seen this same thing with a paranoid schizophrenic having an apparent episode. Knew what line not to cross. Went right up to it.

The famous Soulja girl video is someone with Bipolar Disorder out of control terrorizing an old woman- but she knows how far she could go.

We have a shallow and self-absorbed moron who is being ‘reported-on’ by a whole industry of shallow self-absorbed morons.

I won’t be watching the news about HIM!

No, he’s going to claim he was set up. Somebody else was the masked shooter, drugged him and set him up to be caught so they can get away.

“I look forward to countless rants on how he’s not responsible because he was possessed now.”

I’ve never seen one argument on FR that a “demon possessed” person should not be prosecuted for his crimes.

Isn’t that Sirhan Sirhan’s defense as well?

I kaven’t read it on Wiki. You know info on that site is not reliable.

HOWEVER, I can tell you that MK Ultra was chilling. It involved all kinds of stuff that is hard to believe. And that is just stuff that we know. Imagine what we don’t know.

Richard Helms ordered the destruction of the files

If you told someone that this was going on before info was released on it you would probably see the same kinds of responses you see on this site. Oh, that is just some crazy conspiracy theory.

Unabomber was recruited into an experiment. He didn’t realize what he was signing up for.

I think there is a good chance it was part of MK Ultra. The Professor had worked with the OSS.

That doesn’t mean he was programmed to become the Unabomber. They might have just fried his circuits and that was the result.

Same could be true here.

They could have experimented on Holmes and fried him.

The piece that was a puzzle to me is why the parents would allow it. They do have a military connection.

But then I found out Holmes is adopted.

Could be the answer.

Btw, if you follow a trailing thread with Obama - his supposed girlfriend can lead you to Jessup/Alger Hiss/Dean Acheson..and on to Richard Helms through Penrose

Yes, it was Sirhan Sirhan’s claim. Some of the evidence just doesn’t add up in that case.

Then you have the JFK assasination in which E Howard Hunt told us who did it. And Cord Meyer( supposedly claimed he recruited Bill Clinton and was his handler) claimed that his ex-wife who had an affair with JFK was killed by the same people who killed JFK.

There are a remarkable amount of people connected to the CIA that were there that day - or look-a-likes. They might have wanted look-a-likes there for some reason.

Just all in the folklore of conspiracy theories...which will always remain conspiracy theories.

None of, electric chair, hanging, lethal injection or firing squad deliver the right amount of punishment duration that justice demands.

He should be treated as the Apaches once did. Strip him naked and stake him out on the ground over one of those huge red ant hills in southern NM or AZ - make a few dozen shallow cuts on his arms, legs, torso and eyes, then leave him there.

The ants will make him quite miserable - but the buzzards that would tear him apart bit by bit would be the most fitting.

That's normally called inhuman - but in this case it appears justified to me, because of his own inhumanity.
