Virgil Goode submits 14,000 signatures for ballot, with help from Independent Greens
Virginia Politics ^

Posted on 07/25/2012 6:30:17 PM PDT by mnehring

With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on November’s presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections....

..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him....

...“Virgil supports rail, and that’s our big issue and he’s with us on that,” said Carey Campbell, a member of the Independent Greens executive committee. “We’ve had for many years a good relationship with the Constitution Party folks.”...

The value is Ralph Nader. We need more independent parties. Are there any Tea Party candidates, and what about Libertarians.

Ok, one time, I will play:

Is there any Romneybot out there even capable of addressing an issue in a serious manner without resorting to lockerroom bullshit?

Why yes, yes there is. However, that horse has been flogged mercilessly until it is nothing but pulverized bones, in pieces too small for a buzzard to show interest in, yet the same questions are being asked, over, and over, and over, and over, it is actually nausiating, but alas, sometimes I forget and click on a reply because I have my page set on everything.

Not one of you has so far. Just lots of the same tactics the libs use. Guess you can’t ‘support’ your chosen candidate with anything more than “He aint Obama”. Gee, wasn’t that what we mocked Kerry and Obama fans for in the last two elections?

It has been answered, countless times, by many, some whose eloquence far far surpasses my feeble attempts. But then, you, who have been her forever, have no doubt read them, and yet, you still ask.

Is it the disbelief that there exists thoughts and views other than yours? Is it a non willingness to even entertain another point of view? Is it inconceivable that there are some on this board who would give their honor, their fortune, and yes, their life to get rid of the son of a bitch marxist bastard in the white house who is taking the greatest nation in the world and turning it into a 4th world crap hole? Aided and abetted by the willing media and the entire democrap party, who knows what is best for you, and has plans even for you?

Why yes...yes it was. And here you are acting just like them and using the exact same reason for supporting Mitt Romney.

I’ll keep my ‘purity’ and my ‘principles’, thanks. You can enjoy whatever it is that you’ve become. Because it ain’t conservative.

With all due respect, your purity and principles and a couple of gold coins might get you a top bunk in camp, temporarily.

I thought you were in MI cripplecreek. How are you going to vote in VA? Goode won’t make the ballot in MI. Guess I’m confused.

I see no value in voting for someone who has less than a snowball’s chance.

Well, (R) voters in Washington, Oregon, CA, Illinois, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maine, Vermont, NY, NJ, Hawaii, CT, Maryland, Massachusetts, & DC also have less than a snowball's chance of giving Romney those states' electoral votes...are you going to tell all (R) voters in those states not to vote for Romney 'cause he likewise has less than a snowball's chance??? Where's your consistency there?

At least Romney has a chance of winning.

Romney has NO chance of winning the electoral votes along the left coast, most of New England (except New Hampshire), the DC-Maryland area, the NY-NJ area, Illinois, Hawaii...

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED: Let Virgil Goode be on the ballot in VA; it doesn't matter folks. Romney doesn't need VA to win. He's going to take Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan away from Obozo this time, and win without Virginia. Romney also has a chance to take Pennsylvania and Nevada. And DO NOT FORGET that Virgil Goode was a Liberal Democrat before and now he is aligned with the Green Party. He'll probably take more votes from Obama than he will from Romney. Everybody chill.

Rasmussen has Washington State painted a deep dark blue, the darkest blue that he has. There is no reason for you to vote against your conscience in Washington State

Bingo!

Why would ANY Washingtonian state resident who claims conservative vote for a liberal pro-abort socialist healthcare guy (Romney) who has less than a snowball's chance? Talk about letting the RINOs dictating your wasted vote!

At least I get something out of the deal. You are too I guess. The ‘honor’ of everyone knowing you voted for a liberal expecting things to improve.

The repeated questions I and others have posted like the above have NEVER been answered. The most famous of which is “How can a conservative vote for a liberal without abandoning his conservatism to do so?”

Now your crew repeats your bs ad nausem...”We answered that!!!!” But they never seem to be able to show the actual answer. It’s always an excuse why they can’t too.

Look, if you want to throw out the constitutional principles the nation was founded on because they mean squat, that’s your call. But stop lying to yourself and the rest of us that what you are doing is somehow patriotic oe a good thing to do.

If you spineless libs would stop voting for your own kind and instead vote for a conservative, we’d get one. Instead, you are willingly voting for a man whose record had no verifiable conservatism in it and claiming that anyone refusing to join your descent into cowardice by standing on the principles of the founding fathers is somehow a dumb ass thing to do.

That’s the facts. I don’t care if you lack the rational thought process to see it. Nor do I care if you think I’m an idiot. It is what it is and you are what you vote for. In this case, Romney being a liberal, liberals will vote for him. Conservatives will not.

Simple math. Do some.

You vote for your liberal and I’ll vote for mine.

Cripplecreek, it’s apparent from your tagline that you are a church person; more than likely a born-again Evangelical (as am I). May I ask you: Do you have the hatred for Romney that you have because he’s a Mormon? I mean, if you could vote for Virgil Goode (Liberal Dem / Green Party sympathizer), it must because Romney is Mormon because Goode is more politically wacked than Romney could ever be. Just sayin’

(Except that Virgil IS ALREADY on the ballot ALSO in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan...and Nevada...ALL the states you mentioned -- except Indiana and Pennsylvania...in which Goode could still become eligible to be on those two states' ballots!)

Plus conservative FREEPER Tom Hoefling is on the Florida ballot + will be on OTHER states' ballots!!!

But, his vote totals anywhere but VA will be very minimal. Being a former Democrat and now aligned with the Green Party, he will get a lot of Obama supporters from 2008.

Your tired act is so old. I can see you, taking a deep bow to your Hope & Change posters taped to your walls, delusions of grandeur - thinking you are the liberal behind enemy lines, in deep cover, disrupting conservatives, hoping to pick off a few slow witted ones who you can convince to abandon the Republicans to get you man Barack Hussein Obama elected. Let me clue you in; nobody is buying the crap you are peddling. Your man in going down and going down hard and we will take down all your socialist progressive slime in the Senate with him. Your deep cover is blown. We will never surrender to the likes of Obama. Try your crap on a less sophisticated crowd.

Borrowed from another thread.

Take a moment and see who you are willing to enable.

What I may do or not do, I do because I see it as the best option.

You disagree, and I accept it.

However, if you really are interested in just how spineless I can be, please let me know.

I will be glad to give you four digit coordinates, and pop smoke when you get close, so you don't get lost.

Then you can have the privelege of calling me that directly.

Judging by today's purity tests the founding fathers wouldn't have made it through a primary. Some of them owned people and made them work without pay, even separated families when they needed to sell. That's 100% taxation, something even Obama can only dream about imposing, not to mention their property didn't have free speech or rights but what men chose to give them, though slaves had free health care because their masters paid local doctors monthly for their services, and took care of their property cradle to grave, but this is hardly worthwhile compensation for the labor and loss of liberty. How could anyone vote for that?

And yet, somehow, with all their faults and differences with one another, they evolved and managed to do something very right and create a pretty decent country with a pretty decent if wrinkled Constitution.

I'm glad they weren't disqualified as unsuitable or we would not have a country at all in which to iron out our differences.

You are voting for a liberal because you are afraid of 4 more years of Obama right? Yes or no.

It takes a spine to stand for what one believes in rather than abandoning it for fear or political expedience right? yes or no?

I don’t much care if you can physically hand me my tail or not. That’s not the point. Nor do internet or in person threats ever sway me. Because at the end of the day, I’ll still have my integrity and you will have abandoned yours, backed by violence no less, to vote for a liberal.

And there’s no getting around that.

as always i urge all individuals vote your conscience and let the Lord do the rest. but it is perfectly rational to vote conservative from top to bottom in a blue state where romney has no chance, whatsoever. if conservatives do that in blue states, it will serve notice on both the r and d establishments that conservatives will have to be reckonned with in the future no matter what statist wins this election in november.

The President/Prime Minister of a recently liberated Eastern European country (can't recall which one) once observed, when asked to comment on the Green Party, that "the new Greens are the old Reds".This remark sums them up very nicely indeed. And to think that more than a few here on FR are gonna side with one of the two candidates of "the old Reds",Virgil Goode.

(The other candidate,of course, being Osama Obama himself).

Only once have I even considered voting for a candidate that,in the end, failed to garner a single Electoral vote in that election...and that was in '80.If I ever get to the point where I want my vote in a Presidential to mean absolutely nothing I'll start writing in my own name because, after all,I am the only genuinely perfect Presidential candidate.

I’m voting for the Conservative. I haven’t spent years publicly exposing that degenerate trojan horse fraud to turn around and support him. Maybe it doesn’t matter to you, but I do have my conscience and morals to think about. If that offends your Willardbot sensibilities... well, tough.
