MSNBC reports that public records show Holmes lived with two roommates at the apartment, which is reserved for students, faculty and staff from the medical campus.

If he had two roommates, how did he manage to booby-trap the apartment and live the way he did? Or, were the roommates away for the summer months?
Were the roomies gone on summer break or something?

Be assured, ABC was taping the call to the mother. Guaranteed and if she said what they reported, we would be hearing it 24/7.
From what other tenants have said, they believed he lived alone. I doubt he had two roommates in a one-bedroom apartment.
I kinda care, yes. She says that was not the context of what she said.
The MSM consistently spins what people say for their own agenda and in this instant they are implying that his mother knew there was something wrong with her son.
This opens her up to all kinds of attack personally and liably responsible in the courts.
Further, I can’t imagine the horror that victims feel but, his mother is already wracked with pain for what her son has done.
The MSM is attempting to make her a responsible party for not reporting her son.

ABC wouldn’t be able to tape it without her consent. I doubt they did. They have said the producer took detailed notes. I don’t always believe ABC, but in this case I’m not so sure. Consider two mothers:
Mother A: I didn’t say that.
ABC: Yes you did.
Mother A: Prove it.
Mother B’s attorney: (Hey, ABC, is there a tape?)
ABC: (No)
Mother B: I didn’t say that.
ABC: Yes you did.
Mother B: Prove it.
Which mother is more believable? Which one sounds like she is trying to recover from saying something stupid to a reporter?

They first asked if she was (insert name here) and if her son’s name was (insert name here) and she stated you have the right one.
That is how the conversation went. They blew it out of proportion making it like she even knew about the shooting.

You can bet the ranch they have a tape of the conversation. 100% sure. If it cooberated their story they would risk the backlash and release it. Almost all taped conversations are legal as long as one party is aware of it.

It is easy to understand that it took her a couple of days of dealing with the fact her son did such a vile thing before she could pay attention to the media. It was then she rightfully issued the statement calling ABC a liar.

My point wasn’t really about whether or not there is a tape of the conversation, though I suspect there isn’t, since it was 5:45 in the morning and the producer probably didn’t take the time to get a recording system set up, and because I don’t think even ABC would be stupid enough to lie to the lawyer about a non-existent tape that they would then admit did actually exist. My point was that the mother sounds like she’s got something to hide, given the way that she lawyered up right away and had her attorney make an inquiry about whether a tape existed before she made her statement saying that she didn’t say what the producer said she did.

Actually, given the media called her at 0545hrs in the morning before she even knew what the heck was going on, and given the caller was asking if SHE was the mother of a James, and given she answered yes you have the right person (HER)*, and given ABC took that remark and reported she somehow knew the person calling was calling about a tragedy she knew nothing about, and given the history of the media (esp ABC) warping their reporting to fit their liberal agendas (TEA Party smear, anyone?), given the media frenzy and the absolute chaos going on it is right that she contacted a lawyer to make sure her side was reported. She did the right thing.

All past proof that ABC’s lies and distorts, and edits tapes (Zimmerman), I don’t see myself agreeing with you that ABC would not lie.

*-Having being awakened by a 0430 call from a hospital when my son was injured on the job, I was asked, “Are you Mr Hulka, father of XXXXX?” I answered/mumbled, “yeah, you got the right guy,” it is easy for me to see ABC could have taken that answer of mine and reported in the same way it is reporting the mother’s remarks. ABC: Seeeeee. . .when we called Agent XXXXX father, he said, “Yes, you have the right guy,” thereby implicating me.
If they were, and didn't tell the woman so she could consent, they would be open to criminal prosecution and civil action under California law. California is a "two-party consent" state with regard to recorded conversations.
