AURORA, Colo. – James Holmes, the accused gunman in last Friday's midnight movie massacre in Colorado, mailed a notebook "full of details about how he was going to kill people" to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack, but the parcel sat unopened in a mailroom for as long as a week before its discovery Monday, a law enforcement source told FoxNews.com.

I wonder if anything sent to the psychiatrist would be inadmissible in court if Holmes was a patient?

If he was being treated (or experimented on), it bolsters an insanity defense.

Someone said the one with Holmes return address was shrink wrapped. If that's the case....forensics should turn up something to chew on if the "shrink" tampered with it.

I'm thinking terrible things....like this kid was manipulated...the mental equivalent of making Frankenstein.

Hope they drug tested him as soon as he was arrested.

I’m at a loss as to how that’s even remotely practical. A fully-loaded drum mag (100 rd) is going to weigh somewhere north of 50 lb. Without at least a monopod, it would require 2 hands to shoot. By all accounts, he came in, fired the shotgun in the air, then fired it into the crowd. Then switched to the pistol. The ended with the rifle? Is that what everyone else is reading?

I can’t see or understand how or why he would fire the shotgun, discard it, then switch between the rifle and the pistol. The recoil from one-armed shooting would be enough to break someone’s wrist.

I’d say yes to all of the above. My first response to this incident, posted on the morning after, was that he looked as if he was in a state of post hypnotism.

Yeah, I think this event could’ve been avoided had someone listened to his cries for attention. He sounds like a reclusive, anti-social loner that couldn’t land a date to save his life, and wanted to take it out on others.

I get your point, but in America, he is still innocent until proven guilty.

I have no problem imagining a scenario in which the government pins a horrible crime on an innocent person in order to advance a political agenda (in this case, gun control).

The UN is about to impose international gun control provisions on the world, and Obama and Hillary support it. They will use this massacre to their advantage.

For the record, I don’t believe that the government had anything to do with the Aurora shooting. It seems clear that James Holmes is mentally ill and acted alone.

But his 6th Amendment rights are to be honored and respected.

“I am VERY familiar with how Universities work - what their mindset is. I’m not saying anyone received this before the actual act, but I can tell you, if it had, the very first people that would have been alerted besides the President of the University, etc. would have been the University Lawyers.”

And if you were working with DARPA or some other intelligence agency what would you do?

Psychiastrists may not have a duty to warn in Colorado

Had it not been for his guns, he would have used a bomb. That would have killed hundreds.

I never heard a report of the occupancy number of the apartment building where the perp lived. But, it is a 3-story building. Per police reports, had the explosives in his apartment gone off, they would probably have demolished the entire building. Considering the time of night, such as explosion could have resulted in a higher death toll than the shooting at the theater.

I know a lot of people think this is just a case of adult shizophrenia.
I think there is more to it. I think he was a subject.

can anyone tell me if there’s even an AR-variant made by S&W under the M&P product name?

Yes, they make several AR variants under the M&P name. Decent rifles. A good friend lost his in a tragic boating accident ...

So it’s entirely likely that because of his overzealous want to pack as many rounds into a magazine as possible, he actually stopped his spree short. If that’s the case, he walked out of the theater after he emptied the shotgun, the pistol, and couldn’t fire the rifle any longer.

I guess we can thank God that he was a Liberal idiot who had no desire to actually learn how to fire or maintain that rifle.

He can waive the privilege, if he believes the psych's testimony will help his case.

Whom else do they have as a suspect?

The guns, silly.

It's very obvious from this angle that AR is using a standard magazine and NOT a drum.

That is because the drum mag is on the floor inside. He changed the mag but the AR was still jammed. Didn't practice clearing drills.

How long can hypnosis last??? We know that CIA had a woman programmed during MKUltra to kill one night before they had her actually pull the trigger by simply pointing a finger at her.

It’s been alleged in The Franklin Cover Up that subjects were turned into schizophrenics in order to manipulate them.

The obstacle here is the parents. It is hard for me to imagine parents allowing it to happen.

I get your point, but in America, he is still innocent until proven guilty.

Then, by that reasoning, he should be let go and be given back his weapons. Why hold him? He's innocent until blah, blah. Shouldn't we wait for a court hearing to determine if he's guilty and then take his weapons? Are they holding an innocent man? Why?

The whole thing is legal crap. That's why unborn babies are 'fetuses' and homosexuals are "gay" and etc., etc., ad nauseum.

I say he's a guilty ba$tard. Maybe the courts will later disagree, but I cannot fathom why an "innocent" man is being incarcerated.

That doesn't make sense. Did he carry the rifle with him until he exited the theater? The rifle was outside the door he used to escape but there were no pistols found in the area. Shotgun first makes sense, as it has a lower mag cap and he wasn't using a Saiga or other detachable magazine semi-auto.

The rifle was outside the door. I have to believe he couldn't clear the rifle jam, turned around to escape, and dropped it when he got outside the door.

I don’t know....do DARPA and INTEL agencies check with their lawyers first? Of course, they would act on the intelligence (BTW, DARPA is an advanced projects/concepts entity...they aren’t really at the front line of the day-to-day intelligence battle.)

And, I don’t care what the law says in this instance, even if the psychiatrist is ethically bound by some arcane law. Morality and common decency should prevail - if in fact aware, authorities should be notified....

Actually, all this is just hypothetical conjecture anyway. No one has proven it was opened, and as another Freeper here suggested, it is summer and not all professors would be expected to open their mail post haste. So let’s just go with that until shown otherwise
