The Boy Scouts of America's stance of not allowing openly gay people to serve as troop leaders or members has inspired several Eagle Scouts to return their hard-earned medals and renounce their membership.

I was told by one of my fellow scouts in Connecticut in the early 70’s, that the scoutmaster felt up one of the kids. I told my mom, kind of confused at what to say, but wow, did she and Dad take it seriously.
That scout leader was removed asap, they didnt place charges to keep it quiet and keep the kids out of court

I have found most Eagle Scouts to be liberals. They seem to have crossed from scouting as a means of helping people to the altruism of liberalism. Sodomy of boys is not what I would consider a Scout value but they do.

Speaking as an ex-Boy Scout to Mr. Baker: GOOD RIDDANCE!!! The fact is thousands of homosexuals assuredly have been Boy Scouts. I know a cousin who was one. But nobody knew he was, because he didn’t announce it to the world. Why any organization like the Boy Scouts would need people who want to proclaim their homosexuality is beyond me.

I haven’t returned my Eagle Scout badge (earned in 1973).
My sons haven’t returned their Eagle Scout badges (earned in 2007 and 2010, respectively).
The various young men I’ve mentored to the Eagle rank over the years (too numerous to list) haven’t advised me that they’re returning their Eagle Scout badges.

Good! Sounds like he “earned” them under false pretenses. It has always been my understanding that character counts for the BSA. Having character involves being morally consistent, not being morally ambiguous.

Either way I am glad they returned the medals they did not honestly earn. That was unexpectedly big of them. Few liberals ever give back awards cheat their hands on them.

You mentioned the Girl Scouts.
Just to be clear, there is no connection what so ever between the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Both organizations might have had the same sponsoring group, but they are two separate entities. The only other group that the Boy Scouts have aligned with are the American Heritage Girls in 2009. I believe this was the first partnership that the Boy Scouts have ever had.

Theses people were either deceiving the Boy scouts of America or they were deceiving themselves either way they did not deserve their medal. They can’t possibly have not known about the position of the Boy Scouts of America. No girls and no openly homosexual scout or scout masters.

What a letter. These Scouts have abandoned their oath and as a result no longer deserve to be called Eagle Scouts.
My son will have his Eagle Court of Honor this fall and will proudly bear the title of Eagle Scout because he knows what it means.

I was youngest Eagle Scout ever, then; waiver signed by JFK to allow it, since requirement was 13yrs old. I had 59 or 60 MBs; can’t remember. I still have all my Cub/Scout/Explorer uniforms, MB sash, O of A Vigil sash, God & Country etc.
I still rode my bike, too, or walked to mtgs. Summer camps, NRA competition, winter Klondike Derbys... miss those good years, friends and leaders.
