After nearly 4 years of Obama, is white America still uneasy w/a black man in the White House?
The Star-Ledger ^ | July 22, 2012 | John Farmer

This is the story of a dinner party.

It occurred in a suburban middle-class community — maybe slightly upscale middle class, but not much — just outside one of our big cities. Pretty typical place.

The guests all knew each other. They were neighbors or friends or acquaintances who’d been to these parties many times. They were white, every one, mostly businessmen and their wives, and some engineers who work or once worked in the nearby defense industries.

The postdinner conversation was the usual stuff — who’s moving in, who’s moving out. Anybody heard from Ralph since he moved to Wisconsin? Nobody had. No surprise. Ralph wouldn’t tell you if your coat was on fire.

It was about at that point, as the conversation edged warily toward the touchy subject of politics, that one fellow — a bit of a curmudgeon — asked if anybody thought President Obama had not been born in America.

You could have heard a cocktail napkin drop.

For a moment, no one said a thing. People looked at one another. Then a lady who had moved to the area from Virginia raised her hand. “I do,” she said. One by one other hands were raised until it was clear most of guests thought Obama had not been born here.

Nobody said anything. Nobody had to. The verdict was clear. But apparently not entirely clear to the questioner. He pressed on. “Does anyone think Obama’s a Muslim?” he asked.

By now it was evident the questions made some guests uncomfortable. This guy was casting a pall over our good time. But he wouldn’t quit. “Anybody think Obama’s a Muslim?” he asked. And again most of those present raised their hands.

The president, they were convinced, or said they were, is indeed a Muslim...

Nope. It is the Reds in the White House that enrage us.

It's ironic that a liberal "journalist" would write a piece like this, considering that Barack Obama's historical poll numbers tell a very interesting story. Once he was inaugurated, his approval rating was consistently above 50% right up until mid-July of 2009. That was when the Henry Louis Gates incident in Cambridge, MA occurred ... and Obama took it upon himself to play his own race card by suggesting that the police "acted stupidly." His approval rating has been below 50% almost constantly in the three years since then.

Mr. Farmer is preparing himself for an election campaign in which many, many white Americans cast their votes based on their view of Barack Hussein Obama as a strange, surly black man. There's nothing "racial" about it from the voter's perspective, since this is the way Obama has decided to define himself.

Assuming there is an election (/sig) and BO loses, it’ll be becuase of 1) race, 2) race and 3) race.

Another dinner party this time in the suburbs of DC

A diverse group meets for their 3 hour lunch to be expensed to one of the member’s non-profit social welfare group.

As the group assembled for lunch and after the first two rounds of the latest drink for the “in” crowd the talk turns as it always does to politics.

The white reporter asks “Does anyone find it hard supporting Obama this time?”

A hush fell over the group. You could almost hear the debit clock ticking upward. Each one turned to check they were not being overheard. This was not a conversation to be shared openly.

The reporter continued,” When I was correcting all the errors in the White House press release this morning all the guys in the newsroom agreed that Obama would sweep the election this November. But then I spoke to our African American janitor and he questioned why Obama hasn’t done anything for the brothers. He said his son has been out of college for two years off a scholarship and can’t find a job. I patiently explained to him Obama needs to take care of the people that helped him first, and then when he is reelected he will have more latitude. I don’t think he understood “latitude” since he walked away still despondent. You know how they are.”

The white assistant vice principal administrator in the DC public schools said its funny you should mention it.” I have heard rumblings of the same type from the minority teachers at my school. Don’t they realize without us helping them they would still be on welfare. Some people are so ungrateful. She helpfully added next week’s lunch is on the DC school system.”

The white director of the office of minority affairs for a well known Federal Agency chimed in “ 2008 was so different, I had no trouble meeting my bundling goals for Obama and my promotion to director. This year a lot of my biggest donors are claiming poverty with the Bush recession. I think they are just hording their money. They don’t realize the work still to do. Who do they think they are closing their wallets when those Republican Pac’s are running all those ads lying about Obama. If they knew how much my job depends on their money they wouldn’t be so stingy.”

Lastly the white business rep for the local hotel workers union said “Tony and the rest of the leadership are fully behind Obama but our members aren’t happy about the piles of cash we send to the party. Don’t they know he is our only hope for change? If it wasn’t for us they would be mowing laws or still living in Mexico on $5 a day. They hardly understand English much less the hard work we do to make sure they get a living wage. They even were talking about leadership change in the local, like that would ever happen.”

Finally they came to an agreement. I was harder this year than 2008 since business contributed so much money to the election process the voters are responding to the racial codes hidden inside every Republican ad, since Obama has done so much for them and their friends how you could not want him back in office unless you were racists. They agreed racists are hidden in every walk of life and sometimes they don’t even know it.

Frankly, I am and that is because, I do not feel black leaders are yet capable of getting beyond the color of their own skin. They lead with an attitude of retribution against whites and use their power to enact laws that benefit their own, which is a small minority. Barack Obama with his Muslim sympathies, his socialist agenda and his skin color add dynamics that make him the perfect storm.

Blacks had a great deal to do with putting Obama in office...Both Obama’s are racist. Well crafted propaganda helped put Obama in office. Propaganda is working hard again to keep Obama in the WH...this man complains about his job at length, blames his failures at capitalism on his predecessor...he has never quit whining and his apologists, the MSM, pundits and others on the left, always have an answer for Obama’s failures to lead...it is always someone else’s fault. Obama is a composite of his culture both race and Communism. There us no real Obama....please don’t vote for this illusion, America deserves better.

Too convenient, too obviously fabricated, too many DNC talking points. Yep, I’d say it’s a phony story for sure.

There is a difference between an illustrative homily (while not religious in nature here, but still following the same formate) and actual journalistically recounted fact.

While most here would likely agree the story isn't true, the article by this author DID NOT [that I could see] provide a disclaimer to that effect. He left it to the gullible among us to think that nearly all white people don't like Obama because he is black. And this 'story' is no better than the fake stories concocted by Stephen Glass or Jayson Blair, both PROVEN story fabricators posing as 'journalists'.

The author should have quit before the obligatory recount of the woman "now-a-racist because she actually said she had reservations about his being black" who came to him asking/begging the author to believe she wasn't really racist. Patently self-serving sophomoric and abuse of literary license if you ask me. He should be FIRED!
