Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising star in the party and a potential vice-presidential pick for Mitt Romney, said this morning that he disagreed with Republican Rep. Michele Bachmanns baseless call to investigate Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government.

As a seasoned old talk radio host Lee Rodgers said many, many times in his illustrious carreer... “Never fall in love with a politition! They’ll break you heart every time!!!”
He’s weak period!
Bachmann has established the TeaParty Caucus in the House of Reps and has far more fidelity to the Tea Partiers than almost any other elected official in Warshingtin!!!
I guess it doesn't come naturally when you're not natural born.

That’s going to be my new tagline.
A word of caution on reviewing this article...its coming from SALON. Their choice of words to describe the conversation is meant to be inflammatory...I think they’re looking for a two-fer.
Don’t need an investigation. McCain got ahold of it and read it on the Senate floor and then began his scurrilous attacks on Bachman.
You are absolutely correct. Bachmann is on the House intelligence committee (as is Gomert) and the letter was sent as a matter of oversight and inquiry. It should have been answered rather than having McShady reading it on the Senate floor. Arizona should be ashamed of his lousy legacy.
The 'conservative' puppetmaster defending the Brotherhood on this issue is, in my opinion, Grover Norquist. Even our hero Mark Levin was quick to shut down Robert Spencer of JihadWatch.org on Friday when Spencer began implicating Morquist in the attacks on Bachmann. Levin called it "other people's battles", when in fact it was his close relationship to Norquist that caused him to cut off Spencer. Republican politicians are terrified of incurring the wrath of CAIR.
Wow, it took 36 posts till somebody with a brain responded intelligently. Some of you people are ready to believe Salon.com without ever going to the source to see what Rubio actually said. The Left puts out the bait and you swallow it hook, line and sinker. Why do you think the Left is attacking Rubio like that? Use your brain. Thanks Armando for getting the facts.
“A word of caution on reviewing this article...its coming from SALON. Their choice of words to describe the conversation is meant to be inflammatory..” You nail it SueRae. FreeRepublic lost a lot of good posters and I hope they come back. We seem to be over run with ron paul types that want to lose to prove how uniquely pure of thought they are. They were for John Anderson in 1980 and Ross Perot in 1992.
Another excellent example of why Rubio would be a very poor choice for VP.
At least for republicans.
That should be Mrs. Bachmann, a happily married woman. I doubt she'd much care for a title coined by the reprehensible Marxist duo of Sheila Michaels and Gloria Steinem.
That minor matter aside, your other points are well stated and indisputability correct.
Frankly, Sierra Wasp...I gave up on Rubio during his “dream” period.
He’s slick or, as my husband would say, AFBSer.
The first two words in that acronym are “A Flashy”. ;o)
Both are evil religions Islam and socialism. Democrats practice socialism and their god is government. Islam well it's just plain evil. Obama is both an Islam and a marxist.
Thanks for your post. It took 36 posts for someone to point out the true Rubio quote and the mischief solon is up to. Come on Freepers, read the article!
Well, here is the episode I was talking about. I donated to West’s campaign in 2010, so I was upset with his comments during this controversy. I have looked at more recent articles and it looks like West is still a Tea Party darling.
I do think though that his support of the debt ceiling increase was unfortunate, as was his response to the criticism he justly received. I remember thinking at the time that I had made a mistake in donating to his campaign.
Earlier today, The Blaze reported on Rep. Allen Wests defense of his support for Boehners controversial debt plan. West is striking back against Tea Party critics who are less than pleased with his allegiances. In addition to appearing on Fox News to defend his stance, West spoke with radio talk show host Laura Ingraham. During the interview, he lamented the Tea Partys schizophrenia and reaffirmed his take on the speakers plan. He said:
one minute theyre saying Im their tea party hero, and, what, three, four days later Im a tea party defector, you know, that kind of schizophrenia Im not going to get involved in.
http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2012/01/29/republican-establishment-eliminating-allen-west-district/
As we have pointed out before, Freshman Congressman Allen West was manipulated by the Decepticon establishment into supporting various horrid legislative constructs; most damningly the raising of the debt ceiling. West joined with McCain and Boehner calling the Tea Party, hobbits, childish and damaging. Now the establishment is done with West and hes about to find out what that means. He sold his soul (support) to them and now that hes completed their bidding they will eliminate him.
Then, when congressional leaders and the White House worked out the debt-limit compromise, West wasnt among the 66 House Republicans in opposition. Tea party leaders howled, but West called them schizophrenic, and he theatrically brushed their criticism off his shoulders.
I called some of the tea party leaders, he told his audience at the Young Americas Foundation conference on Wednesday. They were all, Were mad at you, he said with a mock whine, then gave a who-cares shrug. I asked them one simple question: If I had voted no, what would I have been voting for? And they couldnt answer that.
Not sure where you get this “Ron Paul supporters” or John Anderson supporters” nonsense...but the fact is that Rubio is no conservative.
He supports Open Borders and Illegal Alien Amnesty...so no surprise he would attack Bachmann on a National Security issue. Rubio also supports Government funded programs to deal with Global Warming.
Actually a “Ron Paul type” would support Marco Rubio....libertarian views on Open Borders....weak on National Security...and supporting terrorist groups. Heck, maybe Rubio should be Ron Paul’s VP pick...they share a lot of the same liberal, security threatening positions
We seem to be overrun by cowards who think that protecting the party is the only thing that matters and all bad news is a media lie.
No wonder the GOP is dying.
No party does.
Tea partiers do though.
Rubio is not represenative of the Tea Party principles.
"Dumping" of the Tea Party isn't necessary to start another conservative movement.
Ping me when you get the new turely conservative movement going.
You got that right!
A 2-fisted 21 beer salute to Uncre Ree .. never cruised with him, he likes to travel yaknow .. who knows, someday..
Wonder what Herb Caen and Jim Eason would have to say
Yeah, him and Melanie with her penchant for taking excessive risks! What a pair!!! (I mean the two of ‘em)(Lee & Melanie, that is)
Here's another pair

Rubio is a tool of the Bilderbergers. They seek a one world fascistic government run by banksters. Because no government can hope to rule a people completely, even with militarized police forces and a high degree of surveillance, they need a fascistic "religion" to rule people in their own homes. islam fits the bill. It's why our government and the governments of Europe will not only NOT combat it, but rather will go out of the way to promote it while attacking Christianity at every turn.
The NWO they are building is a fascist government with a fascist religion for the "little people". obama mitt and rubio are on board.
It's my tin foil hat wearing theory and I'm sticking with it. What else makes sense?
FUMR and FUMR!
What the heck is a "trooathon" anyways???
LOL

Yup, at the TrooAthon....
Pretty brunette. She looks a little like Gina Carano.
My favorite quote of Lee's was: "Politicians and Diapers should be changed often, and for the same reason"
Speaking of Mr. Rodgers, anyone out there know how (or if) he's enjoying his somewhat forced retirement? The Suss-man isn't bad, I guess, especially with Mel back, but he ain't no Lee Rodgers!
“I don’t understand why so many Freepers are enamored with Rubio. He is weak on going after the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists. He also supports the Dream Act.”
Bump. I, for one, am not enamored of him. He seems to me to increasingly show that if he ever was an anti-establishment person (which I am not sure he ever was), he is quickly coming to the realization that being a fawned-upon member of the Club is a lot more enjoyable.
The facts don’t lie. Dems can get away with running against people. There is a duble standard. When Republicans/conservatives run against people we lose. It doesn’t matter the people. Run against Monica, we lose. From Jim Oberweiss to JD Hayworth, run against illegals.. we lose. Note it has zero to do with the reality of illegals. Suburban PTA moms do not vote for meanspirited.
But when we run on Contract with America, or tax cuts, or Reganomics, or jobs, and issues, we win. Check the facts.
Moderates are lying manipulative bottom feeding scum who are lower than toilet bowl scrapings. They need to hike up their big girl panties and be the democrats they know they are in their hearts.
That’s my personal invitation to them to vote democrat.
A little about her:
Editor-in-chief of Big Journalism, Conservative radio host, blogger, political analyst Employers Andrew Breitbart
KFTK FM NewsTalk 97.1
He was in AZ last I heard and that was only hear-say.
Sounds like a great woman.Beautiful and doesn’t drink the obama koolaid. That’s pretty rare these days. :P
You’re absolutely right. He duped the TEA party. Say NO to Rubio! He’s in the bull pen for Rove.
bings the critters out of the woodwork...
The truth always does that.
The Saudis have been spreading their money around like butter on an english muffin.
I may have told you this before as I am pushing this book, but anyway, this is a really eye opening book on the power and influence of Saudi big bucks....
“Secrets of the Kingdom” by Gerald Posner
Rubio got the “Senate Disease”...once elected to that body they get conned into “working in a bipartisan fashion”.
Spineless coward.
Jindal is exhibit B. Rubio is exhibit C. Or is Nikki Haley exhibit C?
Any way you slice it, it's a strong case that the republican party doesn't give a rat's @$$ about the Constitution.
Frank Gaffney has been talking about Muslim Brotherhood influence on both sides of the aisle for several years now.
I don’t know if he’s been allowed to return to FOX news after pointing out their Brotherhood influence on Beck’s show last year.
I’m shocked at this. Despite the fact that I am increasingly disappointed in Rubio, I never imagined that he would stoop this low.
The true witch hunt is that of RINO’s (geez, Rubio, you didn’t even take a year to squish out once elected - and Crist was bad?) going after Bachman.
Five members of the House signed the letter. I don’t see their names being trashed.
FU Rubio, McCain, Graham et al.
Yeah, “meanspirited” is just one of THEIR words. The American people are NOT on the side of having more Major Hassans!
You do have a way about you... :)
I personally know....plenty of upper-class Hispanic's that are way more Conservative than Rubio....
FWIW-
There’s always hope I suppose.t
There’s always hope I suppose.
Rubio is expecting his Hispanic bros to identify with him and come out to vote in droves. However, I don’t think there really is a solid Hispanic identity, I think they identify with their own nations.
