UPDATE: 11:30 a.m. ET: James Holmes, the suspect in the Colorado theater massacre, appeared in a Colorado courtroom on Monday. A judge advised Holmes of his Miranda rights, and that there was probable cause to continue to hold him without bond on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Holmes, who was transported from from a holding cell to the courtroom via an underground tunnel, appeared dazed: his brow furrowed, his eyes opening and closing often. His hair was dyed red. He did not speak.
Seated in a jury box next public defender Tamara Brady, Holmes never looked towards a gallery that included about two dozen victims and victims advocates.
The preliminary hearing lasted for about 11 minutes. Holmes' next court appearance is July 30.

Working the insanity angle not that he really needs to.

It looked to me like the boy hasn’t been getting much sleep. I’ll bet he is hearing “noises” all night long.

I think he thought he would not survive it and would not now be looking at the next 70 years of his life in jail.
Either an act or he is on quite a bit of a haldol like drug to keep him calm enough to sit through the proceeding. If it’s an act, it’s a good one
I believe that he very much intended to survive. It appears that the booby traps and such were set to tie up first responders with casualties so that there was little or no response at the theater.
That boy’s beeber is a few batteries short.
I think the fellas on the cell block are gonna love that hair.

Lives near Littleton, CO, does his butchery on the same day of the month as the Columbine massacre with a similar M.O.
My bet is that he was hoping for a higher body count than the Columbine guys....so now he is facing the needle as a FAILURE.
