Penn State Football: DE recruit Webb decommits from Penn State [Others to follow?]
Centre Daily (State College, PA) ^ | July 21, 2012 | Travis Johnson

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State’s 2013 recruiting class lost one of its commitments on Saturday.

New Jersey defensive lineman Greg Webb withdrew his oral pledge to attend Penn State in favor of North Carolina.

UNC recruiting sites reported Friday that Webb had reopened his recruiting and planned to visit the Tar Heels’ Chapel Hill campus on Saturday.

Webb — a 6-foot-1, 295-pound defensive tackle at Timber Creek High School in Sicklerville, N.J. — indeed visited UNC and committed when his high school teammate Dajuan Drennon also committed to the Tar Heels.

A four-star recruit by Rivals.com standards, Webb was one of three defensive line recruits in the 2013 Penn State class.

His change of heart leaves the Nittany Lions with defensive ends Garrett Sickels and Curtis Cothran, four- and three-star recruits, respectively.

Webb had visited Penn State in March before committing to the Nittany Lions on April 5.

IIRC, that's Indiana University in Bloomington, not Indiana State University in Terre Haute.

After the likes of Temple beats them by 50+ points, they'll wish for the Death Penalty

Even as the scandal was breaking, Penn State's offense was ranked 11th in the Big 10...plus this yr they have no returning starters in the secondary...no returning starters at offensive guards or offensive tackles

I know the context. And contrary to your assertion, though much of all sexual research worldwide has been put out by the Kinsey institute for over half a century, most of the crap.they put out is as much manufactured.deviance as the work of Kinsey himself.

That you would even try to raise other academic frauds of comparative recency and short duration on the same level only shows that you are entirely unaware of the scope of Albert Kinsey's perversion peddled as science.

The AGW crowd likely copied methodology from Kinsey.

“Wow so he switched from PSU and all their problems to the biggest purveyors of academic fraud in the NCAA....”

By any chance, are you a “Dook” fan?

I think its very sad what has happened and what is going to probably happen to the mighty Penn state football tradition....

many great players and men from that program...all destroyed by the selfishness and arrongance of Sandusky and those who sought to give him a wink and a nod and to cover it up...and I'm not at all totally believing that Paterno had much of a role...

no one seriously believes that other universities aren't engaging in similar practices?....football is a god to so many out there ...

The Kinsey Institute is at Indiana UNIVERSITY, not Indiana STATE.

What? Repeatedly covering up ex-coaches raping boys in public places on campus?

wow - there are way too many dumb-arse comments about this PSU nightmare - but assuming it’s commonplace to have child rapist-enabling football coaches - that take the Moron Cake.

Well, the Bible says ALL have fallen short of the glory of God (Book of Romans)

But "evil" in the way you mean it ???

The bottom-line here is that, yes, there IS such a thing as "corporate guilt."

Jesus condemned entire communities ( 13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades." -- Luke 10:13-15)

The "you" there is plural. When community leaders intentionally cover up repeated child-rape, they abuse their authority and become accomplices to the rapist. And when people "in the know" -- those closest to those who covered up -- joined in the cover-up...from the janitors on up to assistant coaches to whoever "happened to find out" along the way...then the conspiracy of silence got to be fairly extensive.

Even three trustees on the Penn State board knew at least enough of the early investigations and early grand jury focus...and yet kept other trustees in the dark.

Happy Valley set up internal systems with ZERO built-in accountability PLUS suffered an epic failure of ANY whistleblowers coming forth.

My conclusion? "'Happy' Valley is exactly the same kind of euphemism that the homosexual community uses when they distorted the word 'gay'"

Agreed (With a "cherry" on top of that "Moron Cake")

I'm not at all totally believing that Paterno had much of a role...

You know, sometimes sins of omission can be worse than sins of commission.

You see, with sins of omission -- where you become an unwitting accomplice to year-in-year-out (possibly month-in-month-out or week-in-week-out) rapist -- those sins of silence keep ticking...

...Every second you don't speak out leads to a minute...
...every minute you don't speak out leads to an hour...
...every hour you don't speak out leads to a day...
...every day you don't speak out leads to a week...
...every week you don't speak out leads to a month...
...every month you don't speak out leads to a year...
...every year you don't speak out leads to a decade...

More than a decade of that clock ticking...tick-tock, tock-tick...Silence accumulated...And always fearful the whole false Penn State Lincoln log (or Jenga to use a more modern game) show carefully constructed log by log, block by block, won't come tumblin' down.

The whole bunch of Penn State people "in the know" are rapists by collusion...by a conspiracy of silence...lock 'em ALL up and let 'em out when it becomes too expensive for the state to continue to pay (i.e. frail health) for their lengthy "babysitting" arrangements.

And anybody linked with Penn State deserves to absorb the corporate reputations its leaders have constructed for it, block by block.

Greg Webb, if you’re reading this, please contact Coach Jerry Kill at the University of Minnesota!

The U of M is slowly trying to rebuild their program. if you’re as good as your ratings indicate, you’ll likely start right away. No sitting on the bench for you! You’ll move right to the front of the line!

C’mon, give Coach Kill a call!

Sorry, “StateRed”. Just to take a WILD guess, would you by any chance be one of those Wolf Pack type critters from NCSU?

I didn’t read your name when I posted. My eldest daughter went to & works at UNC-Chapel Hill, so in our family, the only rivalry is with Dook.

Sorry for the insult. Y’all are the folks that make the things in life WORK that the liberal arts types really, really need.

BTW, “You sure aren’t from around these part I can tell :-)” is pronounced “You-uns ain’t from ‘round hir” this far west in NC. ;-) Just for the record, I am neither a half-back, a snowbird nor a Floridiot. I will confess to being a transplanted Georgia Cracker.
