Savannah Dietrich, 17, could be locked up on contempt-of-court charges for tweeting the names of her attackers after they allegedly got a sweetheart plea bargain, according to a published report. * * * The judge in the case had further protected the sex fiends by placing a gag order that barred Dietrich from talking about what happened to her.

she said she didn’t care, and ya know, it is probably best that these creeps be known for who they are.
Jail the Judge for aiding and abetting.
sweetheart plea bargain = $$$$$$$$

“placing a gag order”
This is the first time that “gag order” seems to fit. It makes me wan to gag that pervs are getting away with crime.
I’m glad you posted this story. I believe the gag order may have been placed because they were juveniles, I’m not sure. I’m not sure if there is a law in place to keep juveniles names from being public.
But, the charges were brought down from felonies to misdemeanors. She was shamed by her photos being publicized, now the boys want to be kept secret. If I am angry about this, I can’t imagine what she feels.
The whole situation regarding justice is lacking terribly. I am really proud of this girl. She needs to fight back and have that gag order pulled. She needs to feel free to speak about this crime and the lack of justice by giving these boys a slap on the wrist. The defending attorney should be ashamed by bringing these charges up against her. Honestly, I don’t know how some of these attorney’s live with themselves.
Not to make any excuses for the perps in this case, but I would hope it will give women and young girls some food for thought about the wisdom of heavy drinking with people they don’t absolutely trust.
If the perps hadn’t been stupid enough to record and share their crime, they’d probably never have been convicted.
Exactly, and she was not even aware of the deal until court day.
Does the registry apply to juveniles? I’m just curious and trying to make sense why they would put a gag order on this case.
Jail the Judge for aiding and abetting.
Exactly! I’m sure there are more than a few other examples that can be used in a RICO suit too. These judges don’t do these things as a once off, after awhile they develop definite patterns of judicial behavior.
How is it possibly legal to jail someone for speaking about being sexually assaulted?

Apparently, the judge put a gag order on all of them. I’m trying to figure out why. Is this standard procedure for juvenile cases was he doing favors? I hope she gets to the bottom of this. And even if if it standard, she should be allowed to talk about this. This is not defamation if it is fact, period.
How can a gag order be placed on a victim? I feel certain she must speak with doctors and therapists to deal with the crimes committed against her. She received no monetary reimbursement, but will probably feel compromised for the rest of her life.
Why would a judge defend an act that carries such a long recovery time. Maybe they judge is sympathetic to sexual molesters? Could it be he has something to hide?
The ‘judge’ is a flaming feminist. She used to be a social worker (that’s how one knows she’s a flaming feminist). To her, getting raped at a party after a few beers is probably some of her fondest memories from college.
But not all people respond that way and once a recording was discovered all her rules of a good time should have changed, and she should have thrown the book at these guys.
The damage this ash hole judge has done to people’s faith in the system is so enormous he should be kicked off the bench for even threatening the victim. What happens now? Does the family of the victim go and beat up the girl’s attackers? Is THAT what this moron judge wants to see? Lawyers! They are like termites destroying our country.
“Thought that sex offenders` names were already public information by law-United States Department of Justice...”
With this babe-judge, who says they’re even classified as sex offenders?
What about her First Amendment rights?
The world turned upside down.
The judge should be jailed or impeached.
Hmmm, something does not add up here. The Judge appears to be female (although now days who really knows) and she sided with the perps in the case. That tells me that just maybe the victim had more than her fair share of the blame for what happen, more than just being stupid enough to get so drunk that she passes out. That plus the prosecutors let this be plead down to a misdemeanor suggests that this may have been more a case of after action regret and anger over videos of it being passed around than anything else. But who knows?
!
Hang em
In the way this case was worded, I think there may be more to the story.
The girl said that she was “molested”, not raped, and the boys were apparently charged with “sexual abuse”, for which Kentucky has three different charges, first, second and third degree, not rape.
http://www.lrc.ky.gov/krs/510-00/chapter.htm
Sexual abuse in the first degree is a Class D felony.
(At least one (1) but not more than five (5) years.)
Sexual abuse in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
(Between ninety (90) days and twelve months.)
Sexual abuse in the third degree is a Class B misdemeanor.
(Maximum of less than ninety (90) days.)
Well, I for one am glad they were stupid because they got caught. Mutants like these cretins are on par with rappers, their portrayal of women reveals they are not men, and what’s even sadder is women who fall for these creeps and listen to such tripe as rap!
I'd hold up judgement until details are known.
“I don’t defend the perps. It appears they are not innocent. I just think there is more to this story.”
I concur that we haven’t heard their side to the story and have not been told what was recorded - but, like everyone else, we can only work with what we’re given.
If the Judge does this he should be quickly reversed. These guys pleaded to a charge. Therefore they confessed guilt.
It cannot be a crime in this country to publicly proclaim a true statement. If that happens, we are surely doomed. Just a matter of time.
Besides that the recourse when someone tells a lie about you is to sue for libel and damages.
Ditto.
I am always amazed by the idiocy of a female going off on a “date” with somebody she barely knows, if at all.
Due to the disproportion in strength, by doing so she is essentially saying, “I trust you completely to act honorably.” Yet if questioned, she would probably claim she doesn’t really have that level of trust in the guy, or at least not yet.
Look, I’m perfectly willing to agree women should be able to go anywhere and do anything without worry of being assaulted. But it is just idiotic to not recognize that they do need to worry.
And don’t get me started on the young woman who gets into a car with a group of guys she doesn’t know really well.
I wonder how the New York Post knows the boys are "sex fiends".
This episode might be nothing more than a cold-shower treatment for a passed out female.
Not arguing with your general attitude. But my wife is a social worker, and pretty conservative. Certainly not a feminist.
She, by the way, shares your general attitude towards the profession, but what do you do? I’m just saying there are exceptions even in the meddling professions
So true, thanks for the reply, I agree 100%!
Because a woman is passed out at a party, she doesn’t become free game for rape.
This is what she tweeted, which sounds like she was raped:
“Afterwards Miss Dietrich tweeted, ‘They said I can’t talk about it or I’ll be locked up... Protect rapist is more important than getting justice for the victim in Louisville.’
There you go, lock me up, tweeted Dietrich, who agreed that her name be made public although she is a sex-crime victim. Im not protecting anyone that made my life a living Hell. Good for her. If she was a willing participant, that’s one thing. If not, then it is a crime and I say “shout it from the housetops”.
Thank you!!!
I specifically said in an earlier post that I didn't defend the perps. I don't think a woman who passed out “becomes a free game for rape.” All I said was I think there is more to the story.
See post #31.
“Because a woman is passed out at a party, she doesnt become free game for rape.”
I agree, even though I implied the opposite. What I was getting at is that the recording of the crime elevates it to an even higher level and, if anything, those “children” should get some serious punishment.
If there were no recording, then the damage is less to the victim (like it or not) as it’s only a he-said/she-said situation and she can (mostly) put it behind her, once she gets away from that bunch. And yes, it’s a crime, but unless there are a lot of witnesses willing to talk, or solid evidence, a prosecution is much tougher and cutting a deal makes more sense.
If there are photos, then there is evidence. The girl is suffering from sexual trauma, complete humiliation as those photos have been publicized. SHe is unable to sleep. There is no way we can factor in the psychological damage done to her. Just because she was passed out, does not mean her body does not retrain the trauma that occurred. Then there is is the additional embaressment and then the lack of justice by the judge downgrading the charges. This whole case is a disgrace.
Do you want to know what is going on - something that has been going on for a long time. Sexual victims are not treated well often. Their cases are ignored, ridiculed, etc. more than you care to know. It is only when a case becomes highly publicized do we see corrective action.
Yes, by all means...let’s blame the victim here.
This could mean several things.
First of all, that she was penetration raped, in one form or another. Second that what she calls rape wasn’t, but was a form of sex abuse, which could even include posing and photographing, which is pretty common.
Third, it could mean that the boys had, or had not raped, were charged with rape, then the charges were plea bargained to sexual abuse.
Fourth, that the offense and charges were always sexual abuse, and were plea bargained from a D felony to an A misdemeanor, or from an A misdemeanor to a B misdemeanor.
Most people assume that she was raped, and the defense plea bargained down from a much more serious rape felony, probably 5-10 years, to a B misdemeanor, which is unlikely because of all the other variables between the two.
In any event, her tactic of violating the judge’s order is actually a good one, which puts the judge on the spot, as if she doesn’t punish the girl, the order is effectively dead and the girl can get a retrial in the court of public opinion, and really punish the boys.
And if she does punish the girl, the judge will be vilified from around the country, and might even be forced from office.
“She goes to a party and drinks until she passes out and then claims she was raped.”
My sympathy for her went out the window when I found that out.
If you want to run out into the freeway and play, go ahead, but don’t blame someone else when you’re driven over.
Based on what I know so far, put her in jail.
