His behavior doesn't add up
His behavior already reveals stark inconsistencies that question the mainstream explanation of events. For example, he opened fire on innocent people but then calmly surrendered to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of "killing everyone."
Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.
"Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn't resist when he was arrested," reports a local CBS news affiliate.
"After his arrest, Holmes told police about 'possible explosives in his residence,' Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said police could be there some time."
None of this checks out. If you're a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment?

FOX had some terrific psychiatric analysts on their shows tonight who helped me understand everything that could have been going through the killer’s mind.
Just like the pedophiles when they’re caught in those TV stings, most of them all of a sudden get very compliant and obedient in the face of police and authority figures. These criminals are weak-willed, cowardly people. That’s why both pedophiles and this killer targeted mostly young people who were trapped in a defenseless position. He had no real advantage in fighting the cops and caved into fear.
There is also the possibility that he wanted to get caught. Especially since in his online personal ad, he asked if the women would visit him in jail.
We don’t know what went on in the conversation with cops about the bomb. His plan clearly seemed to be for the music to start at midnight and cause someone to trigger the explosion. My guess is he was bragging to the cops about what they’d find in his apartment, not realizing his plan had failed and no one triggered the bomb in that half hour timespan. He may also have not been targetting cops for whatever reason, and figured if a civilian hadn’t triggered it he didn’t want the cops to do so.
Also, the whole point of this killing spree was for him to get the high of having power and control in a life where he clearly felt he was special enough to deserve more of it than he had. He might have been so drunk on power after the killing spree that he felt arrogant enough to be able to brag about the bombs to the cops and still think they’d fall victim to them.
He also wanted the perceived power that would come from the fame and notoriety he gained from this event. That’s why he targetted the single biggest media event that he had ready access to, the opening screening of what was anticipated to be the biggest movie of the year. This is much less about him being inspired by a movie than it is about him picking the one target that would make the most headlines and capture the public’s imagination. If his plan was to become famous as a killer than trying to associate himself with a very famous movie by imitating its star character and shooting people at a big event for the movie makes perfect sense.
This is less similar to Columbine than it is to someone like Mark David Chapman who targetted John Lennon because he thought he himself was more deserving of the public’s admiration and attention and tried to get it by associating himself with John Lennon in the eyes of the media and history books the only way that he could.
Sounds to me like a quote that could easily have been taken out of context. If they gave details on his address, school, physical description, etc., she could have been basing the positive identification on that. And the "you have the right person" was probably referring to her, i.e., yes, she really is his mother. I don't think she was admitting his guilt, but the parents appear to be intelligent, rational people and might not attempt to deny reality just because they didn't like it.

Gads, if anything crazy happened with me, people could say: She didn’t have any friends but one. I have a best friend since 12 years old (crazy azz liberal, too!) and a few acquaintances along the way, nothing more.
I have not yet read he even had one best friend. Just people who knew him in passing.
I'm not so sure he's crazy. And if he's acting nutty in prison, it may just be an act to try to get off on an insanity plea. This is an arrogant loner who didn't think he needed anybody, because he believed he was superior to everybody. But his vision of himself was out of synch with reality where he was desperate enough to post online personal ads to get sex (this is a last resort for men who have no other options), where he couldn't get a job or the job he thought he deserved, and where he may have been having problems in school.
He concluded that the only way to get himself the "respect" he thought he was due was to stage this very elaborate attack at the most high-profile event where he could pull it off, the biggest midnight movie opening perhaps in history, something sure to draw nationwide media coverage. Because he believes other human beings are inferior to him, it makes no difference to him if this plan required other people to die. Proving to the world and himself that he had what it takes to have power and control over other people was worth more to him than whatever personal consequences for him that could come from this.
What we heard before is that the killer was sitting in the theater, left through the emergency exit, and then returned dressed in the combat gear. This witness may be confused and not realized he was watching the same guy the whole time. The cell phone call could have been an alarm on a timer or just fake motioning to make Holmes look more inconspicuous when he was leaving through the emergency exit.

I know from personal experience with a co-worker that they can be reported by the family, diagnosed with multiple mental illnesses & be returned to the workplace or school on heavy doses of prescribed medication. The current culture in the mental health professions is to reintegrate very ill people into work and school, on the theory that it helps them “heal.”
The doctors will tell you that the best predictor of future violence is past violence. That’s their excuse for doing nothing except prescribing massive doses of drugs with serious side effects. With AZ, VA Tech, and now CO - people knew the person was unstable. There was no dry run. They all went from no attacks to mass murder.
I saw Dr. Keith Ablow give a great interview on O’Reilly. He said that he
will commit people, but many doctors won’t. Even then, I question how long they would remain committed. The perceived answer is the drugs, but who’s to say they don’t cause individuals to become violent.

I will watch it only if you can assure me that it’s not another Islamopandering flick that tells me about the poor muslim victims. Good muslims to me are really bad muslims (humanized secularized), and they are in the crosshairs of the radicals just as much as we infidels are.
Any how, the bigger picture seems to be getting the guns out of the hands of law abiding individuals. The UN is after our Congress to bring it about thru international authority — and Ramadan has started so maybe Holmes is part of the Jihad? Trayvon didn’t do it for the Fast & Furious crowd. I read somewhere that he wasn't wearing body armor, but rather a Blackhawk tactical vest ($100). But even body armor can be purchased for under $300. Same for gas masks. Throw in a couple of smoke bombs and tear gas canisters and we're talking $7500 tops and even that's a stretch.
I own the movie and have watched it enough to know it well. It’s a rough go for some people, and one of the characters is whiny. I am indifferent to the end of it, as I have my own perspective. But parts of it are dead on the money. And no, it doesn’t pander.
The only other recent movie that struck me about the Middle East is “The September Tapes.”
I doubt what he had could be had for $2,000. Just the cost of 6,000 rounds of 223 ammo would total more than $3,000 if he shopped around and that doesn’t include taxes or shipping and that is a very optimistic estimate. The AR 15 would be close to a thousand by itself if he were lucky and got it on sale. The body armor, other weapons, other ammo, magazines and booby trap materials would drive the cost up immensely .... and the jerk didn’t seem to be experienced at all which leads me to believe that he spent at least $10,000 but probably more.

From what I’ve been able to find, that claim seems to be based on a coincidence of names, just like ABC’s false assertion he was a Tea Partier. It seems another James Holmes posted some pro OWS videos on YouTube, and from those and the fact that like Black Bloc members at riots the shooter wore a gas mask and black clothes some PI in Florida came to the conclusion he was in the Black Bloc, which then got “verified” by actual OSW members discussing the PI’s assertion and another YouTube post with screen-shots of their discussion.

Let’s go through it again:
First, Holmes was not an “unemployed medical student”. He was a doctoral student in neuroscience who dropped out at the end of last semester. Unlike med students who take out loans for their whole education, Ph.D. students in the sciences generally get full-ride plus stipend fellowships. It also seems Holmes also got a grant from the NIH (via some sort of program that gave money to his university to make grants to doctoral students). Graduate students can also take out student loans, and in amounts larger than undergraduates. He could easily have had a fair bit of spare money without using either fraud or consumer credit.
Second, the $20K figure was made up by some blogger seemingly out of thin air. Critics in the comments to the blog post suggested that a really good bargain hunter could have acquired Holmes’ kit for $2K, I priced it out to $5K, other FReepers suggest $7500 tops.
I think it’s obvious that he knew better but at some point decided to stop caring. Worse than that...to do irreparable harm to his fellow citizens and to his own life.
It’s just another sign of the times. No anti-gun laws can do much to prevent people from behaving like that. It’s all in the way life is being portrayed in our culture, which seems to be more pop culture than any other unless we’re also talking about multiculturalism, not to mention what’s actually happening out there in the busy, busy world.
