'I'm not protecting anyone that made my life a living hell': Teen faces jail time after lashing out on Twitter and naming the boys who sexually assaulted her.
17-year-old sexual assault victim is facing a jail sentence for tweeting the names of her attackers in anger at their light punishment.
Savannah Dietrich named and shamed the boys on the social messaging site, writing: 'There you go, lock me up. I'm not protecting anyone that made my life a living Hell.'
The Louisville, Kentucky teen told The Courier-Journal she was frustrated by what she feels is a lenient deal for her attackers.

The boys were found guilty. She deserves to say whatever the Hell she pleases about it. Sexual predators need hanged not jail.

I believe contempt of court is a misdemeanor.
Fly vomit. The pics of her sexual assault get passed around, but she must remain silent? She was violated, her privacy is violated, but their reputation must be protected? Sick.

Hey pal, they were guilty! Someone ought to take the judge to task for improper sentencing. My guess is that the “perpetrators” lawyers wheedled some sort of a Faustian deal with the judge at the expense of the victim!
I know, pal. Man, I really got killed on this thread. Trying to see it from the perspective of someone wrongfully accused, who has evidence stacked against them. Wouldn’t wish it on you, or me. Notice I didn’t say these guys didn’t have it coming to them. Damn.
Is there some rule I’m not aware of that states every FR thread must have at least ONE person making a complete ass of himself?
If you don’t believe rape is a crime, you are free to try to change the laws. But what you describe has been a crime for the entire history of this country. Feel free to try to change the laws, or better yet, go to a country whose laws you like, since you don’t like United States law.
Defending rape AND Child Porn? They took pictures and distributed them of an underage girl. Those pic will be “out there” forever.

The penalty for stupid drinking and driving is sometimes death. That's a natural consequence. The natural penalty for stupid drinking and passing out is not rape, it's a hangover. Drinking too much does not make a girl a slut. Having sex with a girl who passed out and never intended to consent to sex does make these guys rapists. From the article, and the link to the local paper:
"A 17-year-old sexual assault victim . . . the boys pleaded guilty on June 26 to first-degree sexual abuse . . . Dietrich said she was sexually assaulted by two teen boys she knew in August 2011. She had been drinking at a gathering, she said, and became unconscious . . . Louisville Metro Police, who eventually charged the two juvenile defendants with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony."
State laws usually have a technical name for what happened to this girl, and that name is never as inflammatory as "rape", but the events described are by any reasonable standard what most people outside the courtroom mean by "rape". The boys are self-admitted rapists. The victim was not satisfied with the outcome in court. She has dispensed justice, apparently far more effectively than the court chose to deal with the crime. And, yes, I heard stories like that in high school too, but I avoided the scummy guys who told those stories once they admitted to being disgusting predators. I was raised to believe that one doesn't harm women or children without extreme provocation, and rape (including sex with a girl who passed out) is so far over that line that I don't see any room to defend these scummy guys.
Okay, ignorance is too inflammatory a word here, but lack of understanding of how the law works is not.
This would be a contempt charge. - There is no trial, jury or otherwise, other than the judge listening to her explain why she was in contempt of his gag order before he passes sentence on her.
That being said, her attorney(s) would file for a writ of Habeas Corpus in a Superior court and move to have the order vacated.
Personally, I think that the Judge is an idiot.
The trial was over. They plead guilty.
