A shocking and disturbing video taken by an undercover investigator at a pig farm depicts the horrific extent of animal cruelty being practiced at a pork-supply company used by Walmart.

Mercy For Animals released the graphic video which documents the daily animal abuse allegedly taking place at Christensen Farms in Minnesota. The video depicts hundreds of pigs packed into cages so tiny, they can barely move or even turn around. Some of the usually-social animals bite down on the bars just for something to do.

See Post 52 to put your flame out

TT

Past President FFA ( Oregon ) and I love all animals... if you watched them in the wild those pigs would shock you even more... they are ruthless, opportunistic predators and they would kill and eat “You” and not give a whit about your bleeding heart

>>You can use a humane killer that wouldn’t take any more time than whacking the piglets against the floor and then leaving them to die. You can at least use a sharp instrument to dock tails.<<

What kind of humane killer would you like that would not increase the price of my kielbasa? Nature would be worse to deformed piggies.

As for a “sharp instrument”, my friend bred boxers. She bobbed tails with nail clippers right after birth. It’s not too different than circumcision. I just asked my hubby and he doesn’t remember his at all. Bet those pigs don’t remember any of this past their next meal.

Being a meat eater does not mean you support this horror.

Sickening and I hope this farm is shut down and the owners prosecuted.

Thank you for explaining the situation to those who don't understand.

The poor piggy crowd got an initiative on the ballot in Arizona to outlaw the use of farrowing crates, then advertised their poor piggy crap, the unknowing city folks bought the hype, and outvoted those of us who understood the situation. Now it is illegal to use farrowing crates in Arizona, resulting no more pork production in the state.

Tribal Princess,

You ought to see what I do to a lobster. I twist one claw off, then I smash the other. I cut the tail off. Then I plunge the whole mess, including the still living, screaming front part into boiling salted water. I’ll think of you the next time I dismember one. I’ll probably name it “TribalPrincess2Me.”

Les poissons, les poissons
How I love les poissons
Love to chop and to serve little fish
First I cut off their heads
Then I pull out their bones
Ah mes oui, savez toujours delice

Les poissons, les poissons
Hee hee hee, haw haw haw
With a cleaver I hack them in two
I pull out what's inside
And I serve it up fried
God, I love little fishes, don't you?

Here's something for tempting the palette
Prepared in the classic technique
First you pound the fish flat with a malette
Then you slash off their skin
Give their belly a slice
Then you rub some salt in
'Cause it makes it taste nice

Zoot alors, I have missed one!

Sacre bleu, what is this?
How on earth could I miss
Such a sweet little succulent crab
Quel Domage, what a loss
Here we go, in the sauce
Now some flour I think just a dab
Now I stuff you with bread
Don't worry, 'cause you're dead!
And you're certainly lucky you are
'Cause it's gonna be hot in my big silver pot!
Tout-aloo mon poisson
Au revoir

I think that anyone who’s ever been anesthetized with a drug like Versed knows pretty much how an animal perceives the world. With no memory of the past, and no anticipation of the future, the creature lives perpetually in a present that is of the most fleeting duration.

On the other hand, the typical Wal Mart bashing is BS. They buy the product. They are not responsible to inspect the supplier, the USDA is. So piss off about moaning about Wal Mart. They shouldn’t even be mentioned in the article.

BS back to you! Costco went through the same thing and canned their supplier. There is no excuse for cruelty. Neanderthal's like you are sad indeed.

Did yours get bundled with the egg initiative too? CAs is probably word for word the same initiative as yours is. That's what H$U$ does - collects money for the poor widdle kitties and puppies that they do NOT help, then uses that money for legislation and lobbying to forward their "no use of domestic animals" agenda.

No farmer would leave piles of dead animals in his buildings as it would be a disease vector. I have no doubt that these animal rights activists wouldn’t stage some things however. THEY HAVE DONE THIS FREQUENTLY in these videos.

Those videos are very often STAGED. This is the part that people don't want to hear. They want to save the poor widdle animals.

Those sows would eat THEM.

They are absolutely staged in many cases. It would take nothing for one of these creeps (infiltrated animal rights activists) to pick up a dead baby pig and put in the sows feeder and film her sniffing or biting it.
Why wouldn't they do this if they are already in the building?
They are liars and propagandists.

We don’t really get the whole story in these pictures. Are trouble situations taken care of whenever the farm hands become aware of them? No way to know. All we see is some isolated shots. We don’t even know what immediately followed. And you know the likes of PETA will lie out their rear ends about it.

They are liars and propagandists.

Well paid ones, drawing two paychecks - one from the farmer, and the other from the animal rights org. They've worked their way into our legislative offices the same way.

Good heavens they are pigs and they represent part of the food chain. When I was five years old I was better at catching a chicken and wringing it around until its head popped off than my mom was. Then we’d put it in a pot of boiling water so we could pluck the feathers, clean it, cut it up and fry it so we’d have fresh chicken for Sunday dinner. It’s farm life, they are farm animals. Everything has a purpose and everything we did to our animals was for a good reason.

I worked on a corporate hog farm as breeder in 1994-95. Animals were moved into breeding stalls 4 across with a bore. We would manage the bores and try to get 2-3 successful stands to ensure pregnancy. Then the sals were moved to gestation in another barn. The entire process was scinetific (kinda the same process that says it takes x-number of days for an egg to hatch with chickens - also worked every aspect of chickens from the hatchery to the truck for slaughter from 1972-74). The animals were not treated poorly, and stalls were cleaned 2x daily, the animals feed 2x daily and they were rotated from pens frequently. It would not be nice to be a sal, but to be a bore would have been great;) - Of course, all the animals end up on the dinner table (unless their holves touch the ground/dirt and then they are destroyed). All these hogs live their entire life on concrete.
