The White House indicated Friday that President Obama hasn't changed his position on gun-control laws in the immediate aftermath of the mass shootings at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One in Florida, White House press secretary Jay Carney reiterated Mr. Obama's position on guns, saying "the president believes we need to take common-sense measures that protect the Second Amendment rights of Americans while ensuring that those who should not have guns under existing laws do not get them."

Translation: They’re scared to make it a campaign issue because they know they will lose on it.
No change by Obama because he has his croanies doing it for him back door at the UN, hildabeast to sign us all onto the the international gun ban treaty on the 27th of this month. The UN will be controlling our 2nd ammendment rights and gun ownership until we are as defenceless as Australia and the UK.
How does the administration square that statement with "Fast & Furious"? Simple, they continue to lie, lie, lie.

The mere fact that Obama put this statement out is enough to know it is a lie. Everytime a liberal says anything like this the opposite is always true.

I did a quick perusal of DU and someone put up a poll about gun control. A solid 73% were against new gun control laws.

The police were of NO HELP in this situation, and the gunman surrendered after he did what he wanted.

Correct. Most rats know enough to stay far away from anything to do with ‘gun control’. Slick Willy learned that lesson a long time ago as did Al Gore, who lost his home state of TN in 2000 because of it.

Don’t be so sure about that. A good percentage of those who bear arms echo Charlton Heston’s “...out of my cold dead hands...”
They can sign it, but they need 2/3 of the Senate to approve it, and the overwhelming majority of senators, both Reps and Dems, have already signed a letter that it’s DOA.
If Holmes was black, it wouldn’t have even come up.

All required is approval by 2/3 of the Senators present and voting to pass. With a bare quorum (suprise, it's midnight or during a break and all of a sudden those "for" it show up, and are 51 Sinators present!) it requires only 34 voting "AYE!".
Harry Reid can make it happen.
Yeah, they would not be pushing the UN small arms treaty if they were for ‘common sense gun control that protect the second amendment.’ How can we fool ‘em next.
