Whether it’s for an extravagant proposal or just a sing-a-long surprise, entertaining flash mobs typically lift people’s spirits. However, a flash mob in Florida on Saturday night was decidedly more sinister. A gang of about 300 teenagers mobbed a Wal-Mart in Jacksonville where they ran wild, destroyed $1,500 of property, started a food fight and fired gun-shots, according to police reports.

There was some of this last summer at the Plaza here in KCMO. The Plaza is our premier and one of the oldest shopping centers in the country but close enough to bad neighborhoods that it got targeted. The AA mayor, Sly James, did what I consider to have been good leadership. So far this summer no flash mobs although the extreme heat may be the reason.
Having watched the video I don’t believe for a second that Wal-Mart’s damages were only $1,500.00
They were just looking for some tools for the next day’s barn raising.
They could be Obama’s kid’s.

I lived a block from the Plaza for a summer in KC over 20 years ago when I was an intern at the Federal Reserve bank. I enjoyed my stay and nice to have the museum nearby too. Although I did it humorous, as a native NYer, that an area Chinese restaurant was most famous for its pork chops.
This was up on youtube yesterday... for a while, then it went “private”.
There were a lot of comments about the watermelons at the front of the store.
I think they use Twitter or Facebook. Another great contribution of social media.

I went to WalMart today and bought two value paks of 100 rd 9mm and a couple of PDX1 45LC jacketed hollow points.....did the same last week. Didn’t need anything for the 21A in my pocket.

I don’t remember all the details but he got a curfew passed and aggressively worked with “the community” to let them know that if their darlings broke curfew that their darlings would be locked up until mommy came and picked them up and a fine would be paid. He set up the lock ups to be nice pleasant places to be but still, not on the Plaza. He walked the Plaza and actual was there when a shooting occurred. In other news, his son and his brother have both been arrested for partying and drinking and disorderly conduct but in no case did he intervene. He’s a well respected trial lawyer who has taken his skill set to being a good mayor. He’s also aggressively going after the pathetic schools in KCMO. He’s made that his signature issue quoting the troubling statistic that the people in charge of building new jails look at the number of 3rd graders who are not reading in order to plan for how big the jails need to be in ten years.
