I’ve been tough on Mitt Romney and leaned hard on his campaign to take the gloves off, get in the fighting spirit, and push back against Obama narratives.
Today in Irwin, Pennsylvania, Romney delivered.

As I noted on Twitter during the speech earlier this afternoon, Romney impressed with both the substance and the delivery of his rallying cry on behalf of individual achievement and free enterprise. He was energetic and passionate.
I believed in what he was selling: A vision for restoring American greatness and defending success.
Obama’s inability to hide his ideological contempt for entrepreneurs & individual success has helped Romney self-actualize.
If he gives this speech with the same zeal and optimism from now until November — offering a clear, unapologetic contrast to Barack Obama’s bitter politics of resentment, class warfare, and entitlement, Mitt Romney will win.

I agree this is a powerful Mitt for our region (Ohio/Pa coal fields). I loved the PASSION he brought to this credo of his core values. It brought tears to my eyes. It almost brought them to Mitt’s eyes too. He sees our country going down the tube the same way we do, and he is not going to leyt it happend. We are not either!
He is opposed by a wannabe gangsta punk who pretends to be a Chicago hard ball player but he fundamentally is a Communist who naively follows the Party line. A useful idiot; steeped in betrayal and hatred of this Country.

It’s incredible to me to listen to some “conservatives who seem to forget how our political system is set up. It seems as if they too want to change the system to suit some other model.
We had one of the most brutal and illuminating Republican primaries imaginable which Mitt Romney won, fairly and according to our own rules. Now, some Conservatives want to keep playing the tired old “ it isn’t fair” game that the Libs are so fond of playing.
Mitt Romney wasn’t the candidate for which I voted. But he won the nomination. To keep whining and evangelizing about first choices accomplishes nothing for us but plenty for the opposition.
The candidates who lost to Mitt Romney have mostly laid the Primary to rest and have gotten on about the business of supporting the ticket and putting the Socialist/Marxist out of our Whitehouse.
However, some keep beating the “lesser of two evils is still evil and I won’t vote” drum. Make no mistake; if you don’t vote, you share the blame if Obama wins. And if Obama wins another term, you can also share the blame for the end of this Nation as we know it.
Mitt Romney is a Republican and we would have a very good chance of swaying him one way or another on issues of importance. We will have zero,zilch, nada chances of swaying the Dictator and Chief. The last three and a half years ought to have proved that.
The Bible says “render unto Ceasar the things that are his.” We, unlike the Romans, can have some say, however small, about who “Ceasar” is and his policies. I still wonder, at this point, what alternatives are realistic for those Conservatives who are so disgruntled.

Even if Mittens says things we want to hear and then becomes a RINO in office, he’d still be right of Brak Obutthole and at least he’d be giving speeches like this against Obutthole.
I take it you STILL prefer Obutthoe, right? If so, then you should understand from the standpoint of the election count, there is functionally little difference between you and an Obamabot troll.

I envision a similar scenario that would help to buffer the moral stupidity Romney is known for.
So at least watch the 10 minute clip attached to this article is all I have to say (I intend to watch the full speech later). Romney has either been coached well or he has found his mojo - or combination of the two. He was on fire during this speech. Not the wooden cliche-ridden speech we've come to expect. It was passionate and full of the kind of plain talk we've come to expect from Reagan or Palin. Mainstream media coverage or not, if this is the kind of speech Romney maintains on the campaign trail and at the convention (where many people will hear him unedited on TV for the first time) - he will win this election by a wide margin.
What Obama said a few days ago about business people and how they are not responsible for their own success will be his undoing - so long Romney does not let that moronic statement die on the vine. The mainstream media will never show Obama making that moronic statement which by the say, sums up perfectly what Obama is all about - radical socialization of America. It is up to Romney to keep this alive and judging by the crowd reaction at this speech - Romney has a winning theme...take back America from this radical leftist socialist.
On another note, I've seen an increasing amount of consternation from Freepers here that Romney does not appear to be on the offensive and that Obama is putting out all these ads that are uncontested.
Well I am not sure that all Freepers are aware that campaign laws forbid Romney from using the money he is collecting for his campaign until AFTER the election. Due to the competitive primaries, Romney has already spent most of his pre-convention money which means that after the convention, he will have a pile of it to spend in just eight or nine weeks.
Because Obama didn't have any competition in the primaries, he is spending his pre-convention money now - making it seem that Romney is not even putting up a fight.
So the TV/radio ad war will be joined as soon as the convention ends. In the meantime, listen to the Romney stump speech. I was much encouraged by it and this bodes well for the fall campaign that has yet to come.
Correction to my above post. Romney will not be able to use the money he is raising now until after the CONVENTION (not the election!).

Agreed. For all Romney’s faults he is a massive improvement over Obama.
I suspect that a significant amount of resistance to him by FReepers is anti-Mormon sentiment. It is a great offense to them to have our country lead by someone they don’t think is a Christian and who they believe to be deluded. With that criteria you’d think it would be at least a wash with Obama and a point for Romney that he doesn’t hate America.
Let us think for a moment about Obama’s “You didn’t build that” statement.
As John H. Sununu (Sr.) observed this morning on Fox and Friends, that Obama looked away from his teleprompter when he made that statement. It was freed Obama deviating from the script.
Let us carry that observation a little further and speculate:
1. ) Did Obama get a tad over confident that he had already beaten Romney, let his guard down and spoken from his black, (no pun intended, as that would be racial profiling), heart?
2.) Was this statement a trial balloon for Obama’s second inaugural victory speech?
3.) Did this statement reveal why Obama’s handlers insist that Obama read THEIR canned speeches on THEIR teleprompters?
4.) Will Obama continue to add to his “Commune Amerika” Agenda in the rest of the Campaign?
BTW, IMHO # 4 has something to do with woods and bears, but I forget how it goes - - - .

Like the way you describe Obama’s stance when Tele-a-Promting his words - if he had to think and talk at the same time, all of the time, we would have long ago heard his Marxist comments. Too bad ABC, CBS and NBC have a news blackout (or did they white out) on Obama’s newsworthy words of wisdom on Weath creation, the self employed, etc.

IMHO, the former is an incompetent goof off in his natural state, and the latter is his “Selling Commune Amerika’ Soros-paid job.
Notice also that he pretends to ride a pony when going up and down stairs. Might be a gimmick to get his mind to go into his robot-style speech pattern.
As you may have noticed, there is extremely tight control of avoiding another “Joe the Plumber” off the cuff chit chats with real people.
If you want to see a bumbling fool, just put Obama in a room full of Joe the plumbers, with no microphones, teleprompters or commie handlers.
Obama is very uncomfortable talking in person to non-liberals.
BTW, one of these FR threads had an article that stated that Obama flunked kindergarden. My guess is that he did not play well with others.
