JACKSON, Miss. — A lesbian who sued her school district in 2010 after she was left out of the high school yearbook for wearing a tuxedo is demanding the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum permit a commitment ceremony for her and her partner.

The Southern Poverty Law Center sent a letter to the museum on Thursday on behalf of Ceara Sturgis, 20, and threatened to sue if the facility doesn’t allow Sturgis and her partner, 19-year-old Emily Key, to hold the ceremony there on Aug. 11.

The letter said Sturgis and her mother, Veronica Rodriguez, are both from Jackson and want the ceremony at the museum’s Masonic Hall so friends and relatives can attend.

A further bit of info from the piece:

Sturgis made headlines in 2010 when the American Civil Liberties Union sued the Copiah County School District on her behalf, claiming the district discriminated against Sturgis on the basis of sex and gender stereotypes.

I can't imagine anyone stereotyping these two.

> Lesbian demands ...

That’s all these people ever do, when they’re not practicing their perversion.

Rumor has it that the SPLCs scaling back its activism over the “plight” of African-Americans for the “plight” of the LGTB or whatever community it is, since the donor base is changing and AAs are going out of favor with it.

These creatures have no right demanding to anyone as to where their civil ceremony can be held. (They might make demands, but they still have to take what they get.)

They make inquiries. That's what most couples do when trying to find a place for their ceremony.

Good grief!

She is a political activist who is using her “loved one” as a mere prop.

The world that normal people populate isn’t good enough for liberals.

They are in a constant war to force others to adjust to their every whim and flight of fancy.

Many of these people are living in a state of acute misery, a sort of mental Hell on Earth.

Some of them latch on to the idea that their pain isn’t due to themselves, the way they think or the choices they make; it’s due to society, civilization itself.

They have a lot of time on their hands for various reasons, and they become obsessed by the idea of forcing society to accept them, treat them as normal. They convince themselves that if they can accomplish this, they will begin to feel better, be less miserable.

They often get what they want, achieving a temporary celebrity in the process. The fifteen minutes of fame promised by Saint Andy.

After that, it’s right back to dreary reality. They adopt children, or produce children by artificial means. Doesn’t help.

Without survival pressure, we get more and more of this. I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I don’t know that. To the extent that it’s self-perpetuating, I personally think it’s a bad thing. The people involved with this sort of lifestyle will of course object violently to my way of thinking, and there’s no way to convince them that any objection to their life choices is anything but reprehensible.

No frightful lions means no beautiful Thompson’s Gazelles. That’s life, that’s reality.

They're always demanding and whining and getting in your face yet, we're supposed to be the big meanies.

Of course! The SPLC is gonna go where the money is. Just like any law practice.

That's one of the reasons I believe they are born that way. They both have masculine traits. Did you notice the hippie chicken foot on Bieber?

I've known numerous women who weren't exactly models of femininity, who married, had children and have remained happily married. I've reached the conclusion that there can be a propensity due to prenatal factors but not an absolute orientation, as the left contends.

Societal taboos that restrained the prevalence of same sex attraction have been turned inside out, starting as early as kindergarten. “Tomboys” are being steered and even pressured into believing that they must be lesbian. Boys who show any emotion or weakness are being set upon and propagandized into “gay” as well.

It won't end well. This muddle leads to nothing good.

“Emily and I just want to have the same fair treatment as everyone else.

LIAR!
You want a special treatment.
You both already have the same treatment everyone else has. You want a ceremony with an opposite sex you can have it same as everyone else...........

You know, the problem could be that men are such tyrants, rude, don’t call, can’t stay zipped up, yell to have it their way or the highway, make the lives of women and children miserable, drink, drug and these gals need to have love from somewhere. If there were more Christ like men, I bet the number of both male and female homosexuals would decline.

Spot on. I have never met a happy homosexual. Demanding, but never happy, joyful or at peace.

The ones I have worked with look like they have been rode hard and hung up wet. They lose their looks and are usually alone as they get older with a deeply lined face complete with anger furrows. Once they realize that they have missed out on a true life partner and all the trimmings that go with him (children, grandchildren), it is too late for them. No family, no family reunions, no grandchildren to spoil, just a life of existing and dying alone.

It is a sad existance and when you realize all the propaganda they are fed, all the ‘we will accept you’ crap, it is a shame that they sold their soul for some lousy, empty promises.
