I have to wonder if all the Romney haters on this site were the same people who ran home to mom when they lost at games as kids. I did not vote for Romney in the primaries. If you asked anyone that knows me, they would say I am right of Reagan. What I don't understand is all of you that love this country, which I truly believe you do, that are willing to not vote for Romney and potentially allow this country to fail by re-electing Obama!, how does that make sense?
Funny, but Romney did the exact same things that Obama did, but Romney did them first. Obama simply followed the path laid out and made possible by by Romney, now our “last hope.”
How soon we forget how a real conservative conducts himself:

Ask Levin who he is gonna vote for? (Romney) will he stay home and not vote?(no) Is he still on FR ? (I doubt it)
As much as I love him, I wouldn’t doubt that Levin is locked into the GOP just like all the others. I am not.
Here in Ohio Romney is hitting Obama hard on his attacks against Bain. He outright calls him a liar that can't be trusted.
I do admire your consistency
Give us a viable option to Romney, or have a nice warm cup of STFU.
***FR is a conservative website, not a republican one. What makes you come onto a conservative website trying to separate conservatives from their conservative beliefs? You’re the one who should STFU.
Well, yeah, that of course, and he's too damn afraid to fully take on Obama out of fear of being called a racist or a right-wing ideologue..LOL.
Romney is the weakest possible candidate! He thinks he has to appeal to the squishy middle with a lot of psycho babble nonsense. Screw the conservatives who don't believe him anyway.
Any Tea Party conservative would rip the Marxist to shreds, but Romney can't and won't because his record is too much like Obama's.
Sheeeesh. This election should have been a walk in the park.
By the way, I will be voting but it won’t be for an abortionist/homosexualist statist who has no idea what conservatism even means.
I could write in my cat's name, but it would pretty much be a wasted vote. So, I'll instead vote for whomever is the candidate against Obama... because Obama hates this country and will destroy it (more).
I doubt if there is gonna be any resolution to this split....It just is what it is
You aren’t worried that Romney will run the Republican party further to the Left?
>> Romney’s loss, on the other hand, would put the fear of God into RINOs
This IS the essence of anti-Romney argument which I believe is a valid argument.
All the other assertions, principles, methodologies, sophistic dismissals, and for-is-not-against rhetoric is itself bunk. The math is very, very simple regardless of the symbolism that lands in the middle under the veil of 3rd party, or no vote at all. If the goal is to crush the GOP Establishment, then direct action should be taken to support Obama. Any vote that does not go to Obama helps Romney. Leaving the outcome up to other votes isn’t a persuasive argument when the goal is to prevent Romney from winning.
I don’t understand the problem with saying: “To Hell with Romney and the GOP Establishment. I’m voting for Obama to ensure the final destruction of the machine that’s continually betrayed Life and the constituency.”
That is clear is day — it makes sense. No convoluted indirection, concerns about sophistry, nor the double-negative, back-flipping, anti-anti-votes.
It would indeed be a radical statement to say one is voting for Obama for the aforementioned reasons, but considering the numerous accusations of cowardice, it is plausible that the courageous move would involve declaring one’s vote for Obama — a vote that would be an unambiguous, direct attack against the GOP Establishment.
Hell, I’m beginning to talk myself into doing so... (grinning)
If only we could dig up Ronald Reagan and make him serve again. We can't. He is dead. We can only hope that Romney can save some vestige of the America Reagan left us. We know Obama wants to kill it
No, technically we don’t have a 2 party system. We have something that started maybe as a 2 or 3 party system and evolved into a single party system with 2 faces.
***Well said.
LOL!.
That's how they interpret the Constitution, too. Just skip a few bits here and there...
Can you find someone other than a raging anti-Semite to quote, please?
If Romney manages to win, he will be the first successful RINO. (Since the inception of the acronym).
Neither have I ruled out an act of God. Onward with Congress.
By the way, I will be voting but it wont be for an abortionist/homosexualist statist who has no idea what conservatism even means.
***Same here, straight ticket Republican Conservative all the way down. I’ll be writing in Palin, although lately she’s been sounding more republican than conservative.
Why is it that there are so many FReepers who think it is their duty to separate conservatives from their conservative principles on this conservative website? This is not a republican website.
Excellent!
Keeping praying for a miracle in Tampa!
Good night, everyone!
God bless and keep you all.

I posted that to remind you of the difference between a conservative and a mealy-mouthed, squishy statist like Romney seeing as how we have so many people claiming Romney is our last conservative hope. Go news for you. The Reagan-loathing Romney represents the death of the GOP has a conservative party.
The problem with that statement is that it would make no sense for a conservative who hates socialism to say that I am voting against the Fabian socialist Romney by voting for a Marxist socialist Obama.
I hate RINOs, the GOP-e and the entire liberal GOP establishment but just as I will not vote for a socialist like Romney, I will also not vote for a socialist like Obama.
So though some ABOs seem to have no problem voting for their favorite socialist, my conservative principles won’t allow me to vote for people like Romney or Obama.
That question borders on a non sequitur! If the premise is that you vote the down ticket conservatives into power while allowing little barry bastard to remain in power makes any sense (the conservatives will rein in the sonofabitch???), then voting the same conservatives into offices to rein in the liberal Romney is the modus operendus, but somehow the twisted reasoning turns that on its head and says these conservatives aren’t going to be conservatives if Romney is elected??? It’s so convoluted a pretzel maker would be needed to make sense of it! It is demonically brillant spin.
Amen, Sister FReeper. We pray together.
Some FReepers in Texas, California, or New York may have the luxury of voting their strict conscience. I live in the swing state of all swing states. As Ohio goes, so goes the nation. It is THE most important state for ANY Republican and therefore I have to be a bit more pragmatic than someone in a state that is 10 points out of reach in either direction.
When the primaries came to my Ohio, I voted for Santorum on the ballot that he was on and Gingrich on the ballot that he was on. Neither where on all the ballots, as neither could get all the delegates. I did what I could for Conservatism in the primaries. I voted against Romney and For the MOST CONSERVATIVE candidate I could vote for.
In November, I will do what I can for my country, my future and for the future of my children. I will vote to throw the Marxist/Stalinist Jack Wagon out on his ASS! and I will do so with glee! I am chomping at the bit to do so, and pray to God that Conservatives in all contested states do the same!
It’s also a good reminder to those godless squishy RINOs who are trying to divorce God, Life, family, liberty from economic freedom. Cannot be done. Our unalienable rights are a gift from God. God’s gifts of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is what makes America possible. It’s a package deal. Defend it, all of it, or lose it.
There’s no question about the contempt.
I don’t get the reasons for not maximizing the chances for the desired outcome. It seems to me many prefer to leave the outcome to chance instead pushing it in the correct direction.
I seriously don’t get the passive choice given the fact there is a desired outcome.
I coined the term spittlegeist ... and youse got it, beelzebubba.
I always liked the word Lickspittle myself!
Romney is Wile E. Coyote Obama is more like Yosemite Sam.
If you are a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty, small government conservative you would see that he is most definitely as bad as Obama. What part of Romney’s godless liberal progessivism, abortionism, homosexualism, statism, gun grabbing, big government socialism is less evil than Obama’s?
My goal in voting third party is to deny a popular mandate to whichever statist wins; a lack of popular mandate would help conservatives in Congress regardless of which guy won. Despite your protestations to the contrary, a third-party vote favors neither Obama nor Romney. It's MATH.
If it was Obama who happened to win instead of Romney -- and Obama has lost so much support that it's a good bet he couldn't pull even 50% of the popular vote and could only eke a plurality -- it would help to crush the GOP Establishment because their guy LOST and squish moderate Republicans wouldn't want to be next, so they'd be more inclined to become more conservative.
But just as the price of voting "against" Obama is to vote FOR statist Romney, the price of voting FOR a plurality is to forfeit any say in whether Obama or Romney wins.
Keep grinning if it makes you feel better.
Romney’s in a pickle now by hiding his records.
Sometimes honesty just does not pay. That was Newt’s problem. Newt plays political adviser on TV on Fox and other networks. Even while he was still in the primaries he would talk honestly about what each candidate needed to do to win the primary. And from what I’ve been hearing out of Wolfeboro the Romney campaign used Newt’s political advice which he generously offered on the networks.
As a conservative, I hate socialists even more than I hate the GOP-e. If I were willing to give up my conservative principles, things might be different. But my desired outcome is all socialists gone. If that happened, I would not have to worry about the GOP-e. If all the socialists were gone, the GOP-e being liberals, would already be gone.
I understand the plurality argument, but I doubt it will matter if Obama wins. It might impact a Romney win given the MSM bias.
I’m not sure a non-plural win for Obama would convince the GOP-E of anything. A non-plural for Romney would be taken as a “great achievement” regardless of how idiotic the interpretation. Ultimately, non-plurality will be spun to insignificance. The focus will be on signing authority which cares naught for plurality.
When the major concern is the state of the GOP and thereby America, then voting for Romney is wholly counter productive.
On the one hand, Romney as President of The United States and top Republican, will run the GOP farther to the Left. On the other hand, Obama will keep the GOP opposed to his Liberal policies.
Either one of them is a bad choice but voting for Romney and owning what you know he stands for is worse from a true Conservative point of view.
Not voting for Romney and being LOUD about it, sends a Conservative message. Voting for Romney sends no message because he is Liberal.
Even though it’s a tough election, I’m confident things will work out.
I am confident things will work out as well. That is why Obama does not scare me as he scares ABOs. In the end, I know who is in control and though we may go through some very dark times, the Lord will see us through them all.
0bama surely is a progressive dream-come-true. He has moved the overton window such an incredible distance to the left, that many think that a liberal is actually a Republican. Romney is another step towards a thousand years of darkness.
for the record, I truly don’t care who wins the presidential election in 2012 but to be brutally honest, the only true victory that I can see for conservatives involves Obama winning. Now, I could never bring myself to vote for Obama of course but I feel the same way about Mitt Romney. Regardless, I will certainly be voting for Josh Mandel and doing my part to hand the Senate over to the Republican party so we can set about making some real changes you can believe in.
Amen.
Some of us are dealing with decisions larger and more personal than your obsession with the anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-American guy Romney, winning over Obama.
My vote and who I am, transcends your personal interests, or level of knowledge, or whatever, to me.
I know things that you do not, I have personal commitments that you cannot know, I vote, but there are things that I will not vote for, will not support, people that I cannot lend my name to, my moral support to, or anything from me to.
Presidential elections are very important, but there is more going on than your agenda to get Bishop Romney into office.
While I understand the arguments about Obama versus Mitt Romney, I am a free man, and my vote means nothing if I always feel forced to choose between those two, I do get to make a choice of my own, or else voting means nothing, at least to me.
In this case both men are such, that I cannot support either.
That isn't true, the Bishop is a monster, a wicked man, with a simple personal life.
Look at Obama's life, on the surface it is as clean and pure as Mitt Romney's.
I’m from a safely Dhim state that no Republican candidate for president will ever win so we don’t get to see anything here. From reading Freepers’ comments, Romney & Co seem to have been taking a nap. It’s good to hear that Romney actually does important thing: focus on battle ground states at this early stage of general campaign.
