RUSH - Condoleezza Rice, Morality and Perspective [ spoke on sitting out election ]
rushlimbaugh.com ^ | July 13 2012 | RUSH

RUSH:

I saw some stories about... Actually, I should more accurately say I saw blog posts speculating on what would happen to turnout. Some of them made the point that there really isn't a whole lot of turnout energy, that conservative turnout's kinda flapping away in the wind. And if Condoleezza Rice had happened to be the nominee, it could suppress turnout.

And I read that and it boggles my mind.

I could be dead wrong about it, bit when I see blog posts that conservative turnout is down because they hate Romney and are unhappy that Romney's the nominee, and conservatives are already thinking sitting it out and sitting at home?

And if Rice is the choice, that's bad?

I'm thinking, "What the hell is going on out there?" If that's true, if there are a bunch of you people sitting around there thinking you're not gonna vote 'cause Romney's the nominee and if he chooses Condoleezza it's over, then I have lost touch with you!

I have lost touch with you. I don't understand that at all.

If they fully implement Obamacare, it's not just babies in the womb that are gonna be killed! That's his point. So what does it matter?

Now, it matters because it's morality.

It matters, and you should never compromise your morality. But you do have to keep things in perspective. And you do have to have your eye on the big prize and what is going to enable you to have your morality prevail (or to have a chance to, at any rate).

But if there are people out there who are saying, "You know what? (grumbling) I don't like Romney so much and I'm thinking not voting,"

I don't know you.

Rush should study these words from Jesus very carefully. Christ was talking to Rush and many more like him:

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

re: “Rush seems to be simply saying that we have two choices for President, so if you don’t like either, you can choose the lesser of two evils.”

The irony is that any candidate - even your favorite - has evil/sin in them - this is true of even the most conservative one. All of us are sinners - all do evil from time to time.

The question is - do you vote for more evil or less evil?

Put another way - do you vote for more good or less good?

We vote for the most good and the less evil we can get.

Even if the candidate is only 1% less evil than the other one, you obviously vote for the less evil. It’s a no-brainer.

The problem with some is that they think that both Romney and Obama are equally evil. I think that way of thinking is so twisted that it is pointless to argue with those who conform to that idea. Especially the ones who think Romney is GREATER evil than Obama! Oy vey.

Then you should get on the phone, computer, and into your car and drive to as many Romney headquarters as possible to tell him that you have personally witnessed the testimony of many ‘fools’ who take God's word very seriously (I knew you in your mother's womb) and will not vote for a pro abortion candidate!...and then get on your knee's and ask God to forgive you slandering those who take him seriously.

Why would someone listen to a person that they feel doesn’t “know them”.

To find out how much he paid to have Elton John sing at his wedding?

I’m afraid the bulk of the posters in this thread will cut off their noses to spite their face.

Romney is not Obama. Do not confuse the two.

And for all of the pro-life absolutists, it ain’t getting over turned in your lifetime. At best we can hope to minimalise the occurrences.

That makes my whole point.

America could have survived a tyrant like Obama and the MarxoFascists, we cannot survive the fools that vote them into power.

We are no longer a people or culture that can maintain liberty, much less regain what we have already lost.

I’ll let Adams speak again:

“a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever. When the People once surrender their share in the Legislature, and their Right of defending the Limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every Encroachment upon them, they can never regain it” - John Adams to Abigail Adams 1775

History bears this observation of Adams as fact.

We have already surrendered the limitations on government while our share in the legislature is rendered neuter by the Ruling Class who runs the show.

Are we truly this sanctimonious tho believe we are too great to fail and fall?

We’re living it right now as history teaches us.

Abortion is horrific, I don’t dispute that in any way. We have to win the battles before we win the war. If Obama wins its over

Actually, I think he was talking to Christian clergy and leadership.

If a Republican pro abortion candidate wins there will be no putting that genie back in the bottle. Ever. And the candidates who follow will only get morally worse, until this society just really isn’t worth fighting for. If we can’t make a stand on the taking of innocent life, just where do we make a stand?

Not if you're moral. Only if you're shallow and expedient. Using your logic you would vote for the 36 count serial murderer over the 37. In fact, there has to be a threshold level which, if exceeded, makes the candidate ineligible and in fact causes him or her to represent the dark side. Massachusetts' premier promoter of abortion (same as serial murderer above, but way more than 37) and father of gay marriage is WAY over that threshold. Just admit, Lucifer has (at least) two candidates in this race and he wins either way. That's the team you want to be on?

until this society just really isn’t worth fighting for.

That happened on January 22, 1973 (unless it had been reversed -- it wasn't) and several times afterward on various state issues like gay marriage. It happened nationwide again with fece worship in the military (which Romney assures he will not attempt to reverse), and may happen again if DOMA is overturned.

“Romney is the last sliver of hope that mending might occur, otherwise it will be civil war and you and your “I voted 3rd party on principle” pals had better be ready.”

That is exactly what you'll receive with Romney, however, with your eye's on the “Big Prize”, you won't notice.

Romney agenda...(after all the lip service accomplishes his election to the Presidency) are:

AGW, with sovereignty abdicated to the UN.
Israel's National security, abdicated to the UN.
Abortion rights, via UN.
Gun rights, abdicated to the UN.
The list is extensive.

Would Obama do anything less if reelected? No!

Obama won't get reelected...The king is dead, long live the king.

King Romney will prove no different. I expect you to defend him in the same embarrassing manner that other socialists have defended Obama.

The king.... YES.

Good term.

I’m still marveling at how almost everyone on our side has granted the Executive the power to be seen as an imperial chair with the ridiculous exclamations that if we don’t replace Obama with Romney ‘it’s over’.

That there’s no difference in record between either Obama or Romney is perplexing when I witness the absolute heart attacks everyone on our side has when RINOs act like the Democrats and Obama and help shred the Constitution while handing the MarxoFascists everything on a silver platter.

It doesn’t seem to matter to Conservatives that they are ascribing power to the Executive that only exists if it is granted. And so we play along with the game we’ve been herded into - granting the Executive the power of a crown because we just want the existing king removed and replaced with OUR king who we assert will save the country, thereby acknowledging we are become a monarchy/dictatorship. Better our king than theirs.

Sickening.

Obama is a reflection of where we have arrived as a culture and a people.

We let this happen incrementally over decades. A truly moral and religious people would never have allowed it to get to this point - one of no return.

We continue to deceive ourselves about where it is exactly we have arrived, because we refuse to see reality. We think we will exist forever when every republic that has come before us only had a lifespan of about two hundred years. Man’s nature with men in power has not changed one iota.

It’s what happens immediately after a republic falls and Marxists achieve total power that we must look to in order to secure the only liberty we will have left to us: our lives and how we choose to go out.

Because eventually, even that will be taken from us.

Again, history.

“Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil”

You probably thought this shallow platitude was a slam dunk, but you’re missing something aren’t you? It’s a matter of degree.

There are only two choices here, right?

Suppose you had a choice between Minor Evil and Major Evil, don’t you think God would want you to MINIMIZE Evil and would not fault you for voting for the lesser evil if there are ONLY two choices??

If you don’t agree with what I suggested here, re-read that paragraph again and again until the logic sinks in. God would be understanding of your decision because that’s the rational thing to do.

So far, people aren’t making a convincing argument that Mittens is more evil than Obama. He’s certainly saying a lot of the correct things about the economy and free markets isn’t he? And he’s swinging for the fences trying to destroy Obutthole’s credibility. There’s a world of a difference in his campaign messages compared to those from the evil, hateful leftist Obama.
