Judge Posner: GOP has gone 'goofy' (another republican is slamming us conservatives)
Politico ^ | July 6th | By WILLIAM BERGSTROM

A conservative federal judge appointed by Ronald Reagan said in an interview published Thursday that the Republican Party has gone “goofy” and that “these right-wingers who are blasting [Chief Justice John] Roberts are making a very serious mistake.”

“I mean, what would you do if you were Roberts?” Judge Richard Posner, of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, told NPR. “All of a sudden you find out that the people that you thought were your friends have turned against you, they despise you, they mistreat you, they leak to the press, what do you do? Do you become more conservative? Or do you say, ‘What am I doing with this crowd of lunatics?’”

“Social justice” says individual rights be damned.

I don’t trust anyone in the media on all things. He’s not perfect. And actually, as much as I’ve heard Levin dis “Birthers” in the past, I haven’t heard him say Obama is constitutionally eligible.

Roberts has come out of the closet as a Federal Statist. He’s not for Personal Liberty for you.

You may very well be right.

I just don't recall him promising to be a "conservative" when he was being confirmed. I remember him likening himself to an umpire, calling balls and strikes. Of course, that kind of assurance is not too illuminating, but more importantly, that kind of assurance is intentionally not too illuminating.

Some umpires have large strike zones and some umpires have smaller, less liberal strike zones. Once the pitchers and batters get to know each umpire, they can adjust their game.

I guess it's about time we start adjusting to our new Chief Umpire. It seems he's a liberal.

So NPR sniffed around until they found some no-account hump. Typical.

One aspect about this brouhaha that intrigues me is that apparently the law never was explicit as to all the funding to be done. Perhaps if the Republicans had contested/objected to the law based on lack of clearly defined funding the SC would have had to do a different take than just assuming it has power to set taxes. Of course Roberts and cohearts would have gone the commerce route. As the Green Hornet used to say “who knows what evil lurks in the heart of man?.

In reading the ruling, Roberts seems more like a mental patient than anything else.

“Do you become more conservative?”

OK, let’s turn that logic around. Zero ridiculed Robert’s court in about the most public forum there is, the State of the Union address.
That didn’t turn Roberts into a (take your MSM pick) arch/ ultra/hardcore conservative. Maybe he’s into `slap & tickle’?
(AND SEE, adj. `conservatives’: constantly erect, super-duper pooping, hyper-meanie, Medusa-like, evil Nazi, barking mad; `progressives’: Democrats, moderates, and th-th-th-that’s all. Journalists’ Stylebook, 4th ed.)

If this issue were a run of the mill decision..I might agree with Posner, but since it is one of the keystones of a socialist USA..and one that sets us on a nearly irreversible plunge into slavery to the state...he deserves every bit.

Yeah, we’re stopped and the signpost reads, `Welcome To Serfdom.’
I still can’t believe Roberts truckled to the Democrats.
Or for that matter, why a Reagan appointee can’t understand the anger.
This fall it’s conservatives versus the Democrats and the GOP, so we’re really in the s***.
I guess we’ll see what Romney’s made of in the next few months.
This is some real hardball politics coming up.
If he’s as obtuse as Posner he can kiss our support goodbye.

Posner’s not even really a judge, but a UC law professor, author and all around windbag who, in the best Chicago tradition, has a no-show but full time paid job as a federal judge. His clerks do all the judicial work.
Nor is he a conservative. He's thinks killing inconvenient unborn babies in painful horrific ways is a constitutional right and he supports “marriage between sexual deviants. He lives in the same Hyde Park neighborhood as Ayers, Dohrn and Obama. Finally, he is your standard anti-Christian bigot. Ideal subject for NPR.

Judge Posner has turned sharply Left in recent years.

A true tragedy.

In the 1990’s, he published several superb essays in National Review, which was then still under the vital influence of Bill Buckley.

Also in the 1990’s, several of Posner’s decisions were carefully analyzed and praised on the Wall Street Journal's editorial page, which at that time had reached its Conservative apex.

Funny thing, that is just about exactly what John "The Taxer" Roberts did to the Republicans and Conservatives.

““I mean, what would you do if you were Roberts?”

So, posner thinks we should just shut the heck up since roberts obviously has the power to sanction and intimidate conservatives from the bench?

“Having said that, the reason we are faced with Bammy, ad nauseam is that commies infiltrated academia and agencies generations ago.”

I read a book a few years ago about Joe McCarthy. I believe it was “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against Americas Enemies”. Using US and Soviet documents to verify, it turns out that he was right on a large majority of his accusations. Infiltration of agencies and academia is certainly is not difficult to believe.

“Either take back the schools or see America go FULL COMMIE ! ! !”

Louisiana will have school vouchers next year. I find that encouraging.

Standing by for the Romney ballwashers to arrive spouting insults and Party Over Principle rhetoric

Yeah, and "I'm standing by" for the Freepers who's IRRATIONAL hatred of Mittens and MORMONS,(albeit, absent their ability to provide anything current, relevant or even closely as despicable or eeevil as B. Hussein is, has said or done)....

.... to arrive spouting how more "Dangerous" and a "Threat" Mitt is as opposed to the Fascist, Neo-Commie, Dear Leader and how "they" are willing (even aiding and abetting by encouraging all to say home in Nov.) to cede our FREEDOMS, SAFETY and SECURITY....all in the name of "their" so called, "PRINCIPLES!" and "Suicide Pact!"
