Many military veterans are used to working in various climates. We have been experiencing a heat wave and drought in the Midwest for weeks. Do you think it stops the ranchers and farmers from taking care of their fields and livestock? my father was stationed in Greenland..yes, it was cold but if you want to work there aren't many decent jobs available in paradise.

According to the development corporation, the positions being offered are long term, with many paying as much as 30 percent more than similar industry positions in the United States. Some positions will require a move to Canada, but many others will allow veterans to commute — working several weeks in Canada, then one week back home.

Veterans already have passports. Go to the link and apply online. It will answer your questions. It says hiring vets ..I did not note anything saying combat vets. Check it out. Oh, sure general discharge should not be a problem but not sure on the others. It is worth the time to look into imo.

There are also lot of similar jobs begging in Texas and in North Dakota. There is no excuse for being unemployed in America. You can find a job in either of the oil producing areas of both of these states.

From exactly where did you pull that rabbit?
I'm a veteran and I don't have a passport. I've got family members who are veterans, some of them retired veterans, and they don't have passports either.

It is worth the time to look into imo.

Your military id is your passport. I am not sure how long or where you served. Whine, whine, whine. If you are interested in the job..go to the link and apply or inquire about it. If not why bother to make excuses?
If you are a VFW you have an id.
A retired veteran has an military id card. Are you concerned about paying for a passport? if so don’t bother to apply. How do you think sailors, marines, soldiers travel abroad? they have passports.

For years, troops and civilians who visited Mexico, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean islands were exempt from presenting identity papers at U.S. borders and seaports.
Then, in January 2007, U.S. Customs and Border Protection began requiring passports for air arrivals from those nations.
Now, U.S. service members returning by land or sea from those nations need passports or other secure ID — passport cards, Enhanced Driver’s Licenses or “trusted traveler’’ cards — unless travelers are on certain exempt cruises. Military IDs and common access cards do not qualify, according to the State Department.
(If you are traveling with official orders and in uniform, your military ID will suffice. Some service members stationed near the Mexican border require command permission before crossing as civilians; check with your commanding officer before making a trip across the border.)

And only a retired veteran gets to keep their ID as they use it to get on base for the PX and other things available to them.

Answer is NO you do not need a passport. However, I would imagine you would dig up any excuse not to look into a job anywhere on your own.
