With the Supreme Court giving President Obama’s new health care law a green light, federal and state officials are turning to implementation of the law — a lengthy and massive undertaking still in its early stages, but already costing money and expanding the government.
The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.”
“Oh boy,” Stan Dorn of the Urban Institute said. “HHS has a huge amount of work to do and the states do, too. There will be new health insurance marketplaces in every state in the country, places you can go online, compare health plans.”
The IRS, Health and Human Services and many other agencies will now write thousands of pages of regulations — an effort well under way:
“There’s already 13,000 pages of regulations, and they’re not even done yet,” Rehberg said.
“It’s a delegation of extensive authority from Congress to the Department of Health and Human Services and a lot of boards and commissions and bureaus throughout the bureaucracy,” Matt Spalding of the Heritage Foundation said. “We counted about 180 or so.”
There has been much focus on the mandate that all Americans obtain health insurance, but analysts say that’s just a small part of the law — covering only a few pages out of the law’s 2700.
“The fact of the matter is the mandate is about two percent of the whole piece of the legislation,” Spalding said. “It’s a minor part.”
Much bigger than the mandate itself are the insurance exchanges that will administer $681 billion in subsidies over 10 years, which will require a lot of new federal workers at the IRS and health department.
“They are asking for several hundred new employees,” Dorn said. “You have rules you need to write and you need lawyers, so there are lots of things you need to do when you are standing up a new enterprise.”
For some, though, the bottom line is clear and troubling: The federal government is about to assume massive new powers.
Congress, and Moslems are exempt.
And Congress’ staff. so these lawyers too.
Everyone who writes some Law is free of it.
How Obama is that?
The reason for this is that rules written only by lawyers usually end up unused!
Best word for such materials is that they are drek.
The problem for this or any other government is that there are only a few dozen people in the entire country who have, at any one time, the native talent to write rules.
EPA, as you have probably guessed, doesn't let the subject matter experts near their rules ~ they write for the courts exclusively ~ and that's how private citizens run afoul of those EPA rules so easily.
I still say we should mount an effort to REQUIRE LAWYER Insurance for ALL Americans....see how the lawyer leeches like that! (And, NO, I do not think ALL Lawyers are leeches.)

Oh goodie, just what we need, lawyers creating rules and regulations for health care. What could possibly go wrong? People with only one tool in their tool belt, laws, should not be allowed within 10,000 miles of anything health related.
The communist professors who created the legal parasites must be so proud. Just like the success the of commie union teachers in public schools, the commie professors in law and journalism schools are doing their best to insure the success of the communist manifesto.

In my opinion, due to the volume of laws dumped upon the average citizen every year, ignorance of the law should be the avenue of first resort. Seems so many politicians use this excuse so why not the peons?
The whole thing will end up with only white, non-union, working class, Christian taxpayers required to buy insurance or pay the penalty.
Every backer of this horrific monstrosity should be condemned to the flames of hell.

Congress already said the bill was too complicated to be read and would require the assistance of two lawyers and THAT’S from a Democrat who voted for it and mocked those who’d ask if he actually read it.
The purpose is to bloat it with red tape and loopholes so that anyone approaching it would become lost down the rabbithole trying to interpret it. Even another challenge to the Supreme Court would fall flat since they didn’t bother to read it and decided the case on “outcomes” not Constitution.
All or nothing, either put Congress under this monstrosity or junk it. Muslims too. Illegals, no.

The goal is also to setup an environment where “Selective Enforcement” is the rule of the day. That way political enemies can be punished under the “rule of law” and those that are political allies can get away with breaking their many rules as the enforcement branch will simply “look the other way and cough”.
Why isn’t the House finding out who’s paying for these lawyers that are drafting and pull the funding for them?

The House could make life very difficult by not funding select portions of agencies and specific functions, but the GOP, lead by the Weeper of the House, lacks a necessary ingredient - a backbone (or Boehner and many others are actually quite comfortable being collaborators).

Why codify any of it? It’s not like there’s a check on power, anyway. The gov’t can just make it up as they go. Seriously, go green, save a bunch of trees, and use Internet polls to determine if patient A is hot enough to get that liver transplant.

There are limits where this applies that most taxpayers wont reach. Unless you do really well on your home sale and have a high annual income of > $200,000. Only then will you pay 3.8% tax on the capital gain. (Your profit on the house)
Not many people have capital gains on their house anymore. The 3.8% applies to rents and other income from some investments if you have a annual income > $200,000.

No. He could issue a one-year waver to all 50 states; then allow the machine to do its work to repeal. Of course, during that time, 'rats could take the waivers to court, just as R's can do now but have not, as being unlawful.
It’s all good news for airlines that serve countries where medical tourism flourishes, like Costa Rica.
Oh, but it gets better. Because after the lefty lawyers are done writing their thousands of regulations, it will take an army of commie bureaucrats to actually implement the regulations. And then another army of lawyers to find out what the regulations mean. And then, they'll discover that the first batch of regulations isn't quite enough - so there will be more. And of course, more bureaucrats to implement them and more lawyers to “interpret” them.

My daily wonderment is just how far will the American people let this go before they rise up?
What relevance does that have?? The problem for the citizens of our Republic is that the vast Federal government has far exceeded the limits set forth in the 9th and 10th Amendments.
You write as thought the "native talent" is some positive good for our Republic. What a vile and insulting thought to Liberty. The simple fact is that the EPA and most of the Federal government workers are engaged in wholly unconstitutional activities.
We don't have time to wait for any Republican assistance. It's going to be up to us to start the action rolling to stop oboma by implementing the following:
The above mentioned groups need to understand that they must pull together and and unify their efforts to inform people on a door to door basis, give them printed material that will explain obomacare, the importance of being registered to vote, that they must cast their vote for the option we have open to us NOW and stop oboma, that they should volunteer at the polls and protect the vote. We need to vote in mega numbers, and people need to be informed and inspired.
Groups need to coordinate their efforts and canvas neighborhoods door to door. Hand out flyers (people must have info in print form to read, copy and pass around) to each person in your canvas area, concise talking points outling how the process of obomacare will destroy our health care system, objurgating us to the socialist style health care under which the Canadians are suffering today.
Senior citizens living in apartment/single family/condo
complexes, and those complexes with restricted entry, need to be contacted..heads up to those people in these complexes who would be needed to assist. Seniors must be informed..they fear to discuss politics and many do not know the facts.
Expound on the Death Panels, this group of non-medical hacks who will determine who will get healthcare and who will not. Dr Ezekiel Emanual, brother of Rahm Emanuel, drew up the Death Panel concept in which the very young, the disabled, the elderly, who are non-productive to the government, who drain the health care resources that should go the age group that produces the most for the government, and that would be young adults. You WILL be denied healthcare as this panel sees fit.
The government will have access to your finances and be able to deduct from your finances whatever “taxes” they choose. If a government can tell you what to do with your money, your healthcare, under obomacare, they can tell you what to do about anything...you will lose your freedom and liberty. These are but a few of the talking points on obomacare..check other sources for additional points.
This is no arm chair war..we will have to sacrifice the usual routine of our lives and join forces with like minded people, hit the streets supplied with the materials we need, and go door to door and impress upon people that America is in crisis, we will not get another chance to have the freedom to vote, if we do not make our vote count now and elect Romney, our option, and STOP the commie oboma from doing further damage to this country and to We The People. Simple as that. This is but the first step in returning this country to the Constitution, freedom and liberty. Romney wants to win, he is not stupid and he knows what we the people WANT, and what we DON'T want, and that We the People can make this win happen. Romney is not a socialist/communist/marxist/revolutionary/sharia law loving thug...OBOMA IS ALL OF THE ABOVE. It will then be our job to ride Romney's behind and make sure he follows the will of the people. He's not the perfect candidate, but we DON'T HAVE TIME to find one..we must stop oboma NOW.
Children of seniors, help your family members by joining forces and assisting them with information and transportation to the polls. We will need the help of each and every one of us to turn out in mega numbers at the polls in November, and show oboma that we Americans don't take crap from any dictator, and we will NOT serve him on our bended knee. During WWII, folks worked together and helped win the war effort. This is the war of our lifetime..remember those who fought and died in past wars so that we may be free. Let not their efforts to have been for naught.
Again, contact the groups listed above, their contact info can be found online, and join up. Tell these groups that they must work together and make contact with We The People who can make it a win for this country...that is if they are all accounted for and cast their vote.
