Romney's wife says woman being eyed for ticket

WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney's wife says her husband is thinking about picking a woman to be on his ticket this fall.

Ann Romney says in an interview, "We've been looking at that and I love that option as well."

She tells CBS News she thinks the person selected for the No. 2 spot should be "someone that obviously can do the job but will be able to carry through with some of the other responsibilities."

The former Massachusetts governor, who was joined by his wife for the interview, declined to describe the status of the vice presidential search, saying "that's something I'm keeping close with my team."

“Just make Sarah less electable”

Good point. Don’t want that. Anyway, Sarah hasn’t been a Romney fan in the past months.

A few days ago I saw Michelle Bachmann refuse to respond to a question about whether or not she had been contacted by Romney.

From CNN: “Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann did not deny Monday whether she was being vetted for the job of Mitt Romney’s running mate.”

I wonder....

Christine was always easily pushed around by the Democrats so they got what they wanted without having to spend any campaign funds getting her into office.

Here’s an idea...he should pick the best person regardless of sex or color. Of course pandering is second nature to a turd like Romney.

She is hispanic, so that is a big plus.

Yeah, heaven forbid he should choose a (ewwwww!) white person! Bad enough Romney himself is white. Have to get that coveted Hispanic vote! Hispanics are evidently too racist to vote for a white, so we must pander!

McCain and his people didn't cause her to look ignorant, she accomplished that by herself with the very willing assistance of the MSM.

BS--They were ahead in the polls till the economic fiasco hit and she drew huge crowds --Looked ignorant--Compared to Biden she looked like a genius

She was probably under more pressure for her debut at the national convention than any candidate I can remember in all my time watching politics and she was spectacular

He should pick the first LGTB Miss Universe contestant and announce it at Augusta. He/she could then adopt some Hispanic orphans and go on a special edition of the Bachelorette where all the bachelors are Muslim. All bases covered. Winner for sure.

Condi HAS been increasing her TV exposure lately....

It would be too sweet if he picked Sarah. But then she could overshadow Mitt and that probably wouldn't work.

You can bet the behind the scenes VP Musical Chairs is spinning like a whirling dervish.

Poll after poll; after poll; I believe has Marco Rubio as top contender. Don’t recall any female, in top three or five. So, of course; it only makes sense to the RNC to go here.

Yes; and the attack zombies. . .and we know the rest of the story.

Despite the 'sisterhood'; women do vote for men as well; if not more readily. We simply need demonstrable, fearless. . .LEADERSHIP; and Mitt seems more determined than ever; to avoid that possibility.

The only way Mitt will pick a woman is if he’s pimping for Hussein just like McRino did last time. If nothing else, it’d be because he’d be afraid she’d steal his limelight. And she would.

She also said some stupid things about self-deportation, ridiculing Mittens - contradicting her earlier statements. La Raza got to her. SCRATCH!

What have you got against Rubio? He is conservative and well-spoken. Perhaps a little weaker than some on illegal immigration, but we are going to lose if 70% of the Hispanic vote goes to Comrade Obummer!

SARAH PALIN.

That may generate a few headlines.

That'll generate a few exploding RINO heads. I didn't expect Romney to ask the Cuban, liberals hate Cubans so bad they will deport a Cuban child at machine gun point.

Just Great. More identity politics. While they’re at it why don’t they go for a female, black, Hispanic, mulatto illegal immigrant? Just so long as they are “qualified” of course.

Well, Barry The Great has already covered the "white, bald, and mentally challenged" demographic with Slow Joe, so Romney doesn't have to do that. An openly gay oriental Muslim would be a good choice; that nails down three important diversities. And more importantly, it could force Barry out of the closet.

In my opinion, the communist/democrats will try to tear apart anyone who stands in their and Barack’s way.

So... Go with the MOST conservative who can draw votes. I’m not suggesting that that would be Palin, but if it was, Romney/Palin would have my vote.

Screw the democrats, media, and communists, but I’m being redundant!

I would consider Condi an excellent choice for any Conservative nominee, but not as a partner with Mitt.

Romney already has a lot of trouble with the Conservatives and his recent remarks on Obamacare are not really helping that much. Condi, despite her brain power and experience, is too closely tied to the Bush administration and HE is still too toxic to large numbers of Americans.

So, no...

I’d love to see Sarah on the ticket, but I think there is too much bad blood between her and Romney for him to consider it. We might be able to force him to select her at the convention, but failing that, no.

As for the other ladies being talked about, I don’t know enough to offer an opinion.
