You would have thought that Chief Justice John Roberts had shouted "fire" in a crowded theater. In upholding Obamacare, he set off a headlong race for the exits by the same lobbying groups -- believe it or not -- that had cut deals with the administration to create the legislation. Back then, the lobbyists were telling each other: If youre not at the table, youre on the menu. Now the bodies are piling up in the doorway as those who pandered to the president trample over each other in their haste to get out of the blazing or crumbling structure that is Obamacare.....
As reported on the front page of this weekend's Wall Street Journal, every one of the health-care industry groups that signed on to Obamacare in 2009 is looking for a way out.
Hospital groups now say they want Congress to peel back $155 billion in payment cuts that they agreed to in 2009. Representatives of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Aetna, Inc., and Humana Inc. say they need greater freedom to adjust premiums to reflect risk. Medical-device companies are making a new push to roll back their 2.3% tax. Hotels, retailers, and restaurant chains are clamoring for a two-year delay in enforcement of a requirement that they cover full-time workers or pay a penalty, giving them until 2016 to comply.
Implement-and-improve, the Democrats are now saying in indicating a new willingness to make election-year concessions in revising the hated law. Or as the president put it on Thursday: "The highest court in the land has now spoken. We will continue to implement this law. And we'll work together to improve on it where we can."
But the race to the exits by doctors, hospitals, drug makers, insurers and others...

The loss of liberty has been going on for a long time, but most people haven’t been paying attention. They’ve “checked out”. Well, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Because they supported it before there was a final bill, not knowing that they would be paying too.
Republicans need to hold out to repeal the whole thing,.
If “everyone” wants out, then the obama opposition coffers whould become might full, mighty fast. We shall see.
It's like they're trying to undo the mark of the beast. Good luck with that.
Blue Cross deserves a massive kick in its behind.
"Because they supported it before there was a final bill, not knowing that they would be paying too."
It's not so innocent. A quick read of this piece makes that very clear.
He scared the hell out of the various industry lobbying groups; he made them think about what they had wrought in assisting in the creation of a law that isn't going to do them any good, and may cause them a world of hurt.
Trump for President.
I hope they choke on it.
I can only work hard to get this thing repealed...and that includes working/contributing to whatever ‘Repeal’ candidates I can.
Let’s just hope that after this horrible lesson, individuals and organizations wake the **#$ up over what’s really been going on. That’s going to be a much bigger job.
“Because they supported it before there was a final bill, not knowing that they would be paying too.”
This pretty much sums up the thinking of the everyday democrat/liberal/socialist/commie/useful idiot. They never believe that “they” will be affected once the tyranny they’ve been pushing sets in.
Make congress live under the same laws. Things would change drastically then.
Actually the reverse may be in effect. Obama gets the cash in exchange for waivers and exemptions. It'll be a protection racket, with the Obama campaign as the beneficiary.
For the life of me, I don’t understand why the Romney campaign doesn’t point out that the “free Loaders” that Obamacare will tax (oops, I mean “penalize”) are in fact the Obama voters who are pushing for “free” healthcare. The snow job they pulled on these voters is impressive.
I highly doubt that was a quote from trump
The governments into everything we do or buy...cars, washing machines lawn mowers, grilling everything
Too bad AARP wasn’t mentioned, might wake up some of the folks in my retirement community that still support them.
Freeloaders, hmmm, wasn’t McDonalds exempted?
And wasn’t Harry Rieds empire of Nevada exempted?
How many unions are exempted?
These groups got waivers, they have the money, the influence.
But instead the gun is being held against Joe American’s head to pay insurance or be taxed more and more.
Preferred groups - “Holder’s people”, “0bama voters”, etc,
will not be penalized in the least. They will get their “free” medical care, and will receive vouchers, paid for BY YOU, to pay for the insurance. Or, the government insurance provider will simply cover them.
So many groups negotiated away our freedom in return for a cut of the action. I hope they feel serious pain from those evil acts - enough to learn from their mistakes - and then successfully join us in killing ObamaCare.
I’m thinking most about the stupid “occupy” college kids who are going to be hit right between the eyes with this. They really don’t understand that THEY will be the ones forced to pay up. Ironically, they are the ones really sticking with him.
AARP was mentioned. Read the entire article.
But instead the gun is being held against Joe Americans head to pay insurance or be taxed more and more.
I think if we can just get through to the college crowd how deeply this will impact them it would make a huge difference in support. This must be why they stopped teaching real American history/economics/civics/everything, so these kids would be totally clueless about America and where “free”stuff actually comes from. These are the Obama supporters we need to enlighten. These are the ones who really don’t know what they are wishing for.
Obama is looking more and more like Max Bialystok.
Too bad his play was a hit with John Roberts and the Red Supremes.
All the libs I know still say “free healthcare”...
They really think it’s going to be better, and FREE to boot.
These are Robert’s most telling words:
“Members of this Court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments. Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect people from the consequences of their political choices.”
In other words: America, you made your bed, now lie in it!!!
Good morning Mr. B!!!!! I am personally taking this election very seriously. I have personally signed up 4 LEGAL voters to vote against this garbage. We will win this fight. Do not worry.
Plus you have obambisheep around here crying that they didn’t know they would have to PAY for insurance they thought obamacare was going to be FREE.
I somewhat enjoy watching these “supporters” squirm. They are like cockroaches when light is shone upon them. While my preference is for ALL who support ANY of nobama’s policies to be placed in a jail cell until they expire, their squiriming does suffice at the moment. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh, yes...Have a nice day.
And the only group without the juice to get their changes into law is the middle class. Each improvement for another stakeholder will make things worse for the middle class, unless there are free lunches.
Not if they’re in the “right” groups.
This is about the “non-preferred” paying for the “preferred”. Reparations and ideological punishment.
Kudos to Donald Trump for seeing the big picture.
maybe Obama is about to be savaged with Harry and Louise ads after all...
That is most likely a very serious discussion a lot but not all students in colledge are talking about.
“Actions have consequences.” Never truer than now.
Too bad the previously supportive dolts didn’t learn that lesson earlier.
If ObamaCare is so great why is Congress exempt from it?.
See post 8.
Because they've deemed themselves the ruling elite.
I believe it was Huckabee that said, “business owners should have a sit down talk with their employees. Vote for BO and I will be forced to drop your health care coverage and you can seek your own alternative or vote for Romney and keep your company paid insurance. Which is it?”
Kudos to Donald Trump for seeing the big picture.
It’s what we get when so many fail to vote, this may be the last chance they have to vote.
Democrats must be caught up in that syndrome we always see when disasters happen. People always say that they never knew “these things” could happen to them or in their neighborhood, etc. Why do people think things can’t happen to THEM?
People need to learn that there is no such thing as FREE stuff without someone else being enslaved. When they demand that they get things for free, they are advocating slavery for someone else. When we say America is a FREE country we are not talking about providing products and services without charge.
The Choom Roach Motel — The roaches check in, but they never check out.
“Actually the reverse may be in effect. Obama gets the cash in exchange for waivers and exemptions”
Rats—you’ve just drained my half full glass. I keep forgetting there is no honor in the man named barak hussein obama. So far, he’s proven to me he’s a LIAR, thief and murderer.
My wife’s doctor just retired early because of ObamaTax (as Rush calls it). My son has gone with a concierge doctor who has left his practice and hospital. My eye doctor friend in FL is retiring because of ObamaTax. We are going into a world of pain. If the Republicans don’t ride this to victory in November their party deserves to be buried.
The fiscal justification for ObamaCare was partly based on a list of voluntary sacrifices on the part of health insures, pharmaceutical makers, hospital and physician associations. This was a fragile alliance based on threats by the White House of even more draconian regulations. What health insurers got out of the deal was a four or five-year window of orderly withdrawal from the industry with their assets intact. After that a single-payer system would replace them.
