Functional equivalent of air conditioning--open up your windows at night when its cool--get up early and close them all before it gets hot. Curtains and shade trees help a lot too. We're having mid90's currently but my un-AC'ed house is quite comfortable all day long. Just ordinary insulation too, nothing heroic there.

It is so hot here in Texas that they have installed GIANT fans almost everywhere.

I am thinking about heading to our local library tomorrow.

I have a couple of books to read, and they keep the AC on all day.

I see it’s 103 in NYC right now.

Need to fill-up a couple 5 gal cans of ethanol free gas.

I also see that another tropical wave has formed out in the Atlantic. Currently on a southern route.

We do this too. It used to be really great when we had an attic fan that worked, but still does well with a box fan in the window.

I’m sure there are but Mexicalifornia is run by illegals, lock, stock and barrel.
Until CA is locked down to illegals - which the genie is out of the bottle so CA is screwed - you can have all the 70’s in the world but you have to speak Spanish to enjoy it from the food line...

Funny how some of you folks thought you were somehow isolated from this epic invasion. Those on the east coast and midwest thought this was all somehow funny years ago...Of course since then it's now in all your backyard too.....

Just in...."Romney unveils Virginia Hispanic leadership team"

BTW, it's now 77 degrees, with a great on-shore Pacific breeze..No foodline yet, so we'll be BBQ'ing some Alaskan Salmon this afternoon!

Cheers!

I was attempting to make a funny referring to the giant wind generators as fans.

Oh, we know Rombot is a panderer...no surprise there.
But next time you buy your groceries-um, how much was that salmon?-check out that 8 % sales tax to keep those unions in great retirement.
We are a right-to-work state with 4% sales tax..
Tag, you’re it!

um, how much was that salmon?

I have no idea, friends brought the Salmon, (They're in the seafood biz) but I supplied the Margaritas.

Taxes suck, but year round Mediterranean style weather is worth a *fortune* to us.

Been in nasty extreme heat with humidity, extreme cold, ice covered roads, brown snow etc...just not for us....And the older ya get, the harder nasty weather is on ya.

Take care!

BTW, the Salmon was really good and it's 67* now...

You must be a prophet. Our electricity went off last night about dark and is still out. Appalachian Power’s web site says over 60% of its customers in Virginia and West Virginia are without power. That is more than 566,000 people. I don’t know how much has been restored. We can see homes that have power, but not on our road.

Nice having this exchg with you...
I’m so glad you see the glass half full.
I was raised in Los Altos, CA, went to UCLA and joined the Navy to get the hell out of there but I still visit family to be reminded why I left.
Having perfect weather everyday makes you complacent and lazy...
Nothing like a good natural disaster to keep you humble and grateful.

I'm not lazy at all...Already golfed this morning, and walked the dog several miles, and it's only 815 a.m. Ya see there are lots of things to do and see here with weather that accommodates.. Much more to do here than where live and I don't even know where ya live....lol

BTW, most fat people I see are in the East coast and Midwest...Places like Ohio... This is no secret...
