Any court watcher would have said all the courts would have upheld the law if Congress had simply called it a tax.

The government’s huge taxing power has not exactly been at issue here....it’s not like the ruling expands it any more.

you know what really bugs me?...not this ruling...I expected that we'd get a charlatan or two on the Court....

but what really bugs me is that we the plain old citizens are getting royally shafted in every way...and NO ONE is standing up for us...

we can't have morality and decency anymore...we can't say NO to homos...we can't have a clean and fit and mentally straight military...we can't have our chaplains saying "Jesus"....we can't keep our property if some rich outfit wants it....

illegals have more rights than we do...

If Congress had treated it as a tax, the bill would have originated in the House and be subject to the same rules that apply to any other tax. It is not just a matter of words but of process, procedures, and regulations. SCOTUS just called it a tax, but said it was exempt from following the rules governing other taxes. Words have meanings.
