Thank you, SCOTUS. This Obamacare ruling fires up the troops as Americas eyes are opened! Thank God.
This proves to be such an unsettling time in America as we undergo the fundamental transformation that Barack Obama promised he would do to us if elected. Obamacare was dealt in deception and confusion by flooding the public with an overwhelming amount of conflicting rationale via thousands of pages of unread legislative detail, which is the radical lefts M.O. Obama promised the American people this wasnt a tax and that hed never raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. We now see that this is the largest tax increase in history. It will slam every business owner and every one of the 50% of Americans who currently pay their taxes. The other 50% are being deceived if they think theyre going to get a free ride because Medicaid is broke. Recipients of Obamas free health care will have fewer choices and less accessibility. Trust me this much more expensive health care WILL be rationed; to claim otherwise defies all economic and common sense.
We will not retreat on this. A newly elected legislative branch is key to defending our Republic and fundamentally restoring all that is good in America.
SCOTUS now rules this is a tax? Well, Congress has the ability to create taxes and also has the ability to rescind them. Upon their return from the July recess, Congress should act immediately to repeal this terrible new tax on the American people, and indeed they must repeal all of Obamacare. This is the most brazen and sweeping new tax and government overreach imposed on us. We the People did not ask for this tax, we do not want this tax, and we cant afford this tax. This is not an answer to Americas health care challenges.
Its time, again, for patriotic Americans to rise up to protest this obvious infringement on our economic and personal freedom. November is just around the corner. Today, the Supreme Court issued their ruling on Obamacare. In November, We the People will issue ours.
- Sarah Palin
That is what she said! She thanked SCOTUS for giving us a modern-day Dred Scott to arouse outrage and strengthen resolve in reversing the perilous course we find ourselves.
Reps have given lip service for decades about limited government while feasting at the trough with their Democratic buddies.
Now the Reps are going to have to actually quit relying on the courts to do their dirty work and will be forced to deal with this politically.
It’s the best thing that could have happened for the long term.

Actually, Justice Roberts Demolished Obama In His Supreme Court Ruling

....But while Roberts may have saved Obama’s signature domestic legislation and perhaps his reelection campaign by siding with the court’s liberal wing, he actually did it in spite of Obama, not because of him.
Roberts’ opened his opinion today by declaring, unequivocally, that the individual mandate which requires people to buy insurance or pay a penalty is not constitutional under the Commerce Clause or the Necessary and Proper Clause. It’s a direct shot at the Obama administration’s defense of the law’s constitutionality, which largely relied on those two clauses, which give Congress the power to regulate commerce and to enact provisions that are necessary to carry out its laws, respectively.

Look, all of you, I am tired of fighting hard, fighting hard, fighting hard, and then having folks like Palin tell us we should be happy that we were so close and that the pot of gold is just over the rainbow. Bullshit!
For many of you - life goes on, just as it did before. Well, my job was on the line here. With Obamacare, the people that I work for are going to close up shop. That means I have to look for work - again.
I’m supposed to be happy that the only silver lining is a Mitt Romney who boasted about running to the left of Ted Kennedy and the architect of Romney care in MA. This is the man who is supposed to be leading our troops into combat? Game over man.
I’m supposed to be happy when the conservatives here are arguing that we need to back Newt and his moonbases so that we can prevent that horribly social conservative Santorum from actually winning and ensure that Obamacare passes.
We have lost the following in the past 9 months. We have lost our shot at the Whitehouse.
We have lost our shot now, to save the Supreme court. Over a bizarre and incoherent last ditch ruling by someone who, until the past week, was assumed to be a solid chief justice and a solid judicial nominee.
He has since left the reservation and is as solid a liberal as Kagan and the rest.
We have lost the White house, and we have lost the supreme court. That leaves us what? The states? The congress? The Senate? The same congressional representatives that have failed to pass a budget in 4 years are supposed to be leading the charge to gut Obamacare?
No, we have lost, and we lost big. We went into extra innings and Roberts dropped the fly ball, allowing the winning run to score.
Now, maybe for some of you, this is a good ruling. This means that your expensive medical bills will be covered, and you won’t have to worry about going bankrupt to fund your medical care.
What does that leave me, as a young conservative, for hope for the future? Am I happy that the ‘conservatives’, rather then actually doing something that would be beneficial to the future have been doing everything they possibly can to stick me with the bill?
No, I am not happy. Shapiro, another young conservative gets it. Palin does not. I am not going to pay for any Obamacare waiver. They can throw me in jail, I don’t care. I am a Catholic. I am not going to pay for abortion or contraception, or whatever entitlement the free **** brigade passes, and the republicans rubberstamp.
Today, I just bought a flag. I figure if nobody else cares about the future of the republic, that at least someone does. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll find a kindred spirit. Probably not here among the 25 or so ‘conservatives’ with their catcalls and namecalls of ‘noob’, etc.
This is my ass on the line, and I find Palin’s response tepid. So sue me. I want a firebrand I want someone willing to go balls to the walls on this issue. I’m not seeing that from any of the republican leadership yet.
One last point. How many of the 25 folks here predicted that we would win on Obamacare? That Newt was destined for the presidency? That there was no way that Mitt Romney would win?
When was the last time FReepers called it right since the 2010 congressional elections? Everything that has been the ‘common knowledge’ here has been wrong. Everything. Not once in 2 years have I seen a correct call here.
So yes, I read here, ‘Obama is doomed, Obama cannot win, Mitt Romney is ascendent’, ‘Mitt Romney is going to have a landslide’, and I have to wonder. Everything in this election cycle has been wrong. Why would this change here?
So go on, castigate me for being the youngster n00b who knows absolutely nothing about anything.
You, varina and Sarah all got it right.
The Roberts decision is a Trojan horse containing a poison pill. The left, too bust gloating is now either pacified and smug ir he’ll bent to move on to single payer healthcare. Obama will have to campaign as the candidate who implemented the biggest tax increase in American history.
And Mitt Romney raised close to $5 million without even fundraising- the money just keeps pouring in.
CJ Roberts explained what he was up to in his opinion:
“Members of this Court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments. Those decisions are entrusted to our nation´s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.
Nope, I won't. In fact, I fully agree with you. Kagan should have recused, and the court should have been 5-3 against. It is not the job of the SCOTUS to rewrite the law and call something which was clearly a penalty a "tax". They pulled that crap in the Miller decision, too, infringing the 2nd.
Not to mention Kelo, which is an abomination, Roe, which legalized murder, and taking prayer out of public schools. They've been off the reservation for a while.
Just a few court cases have set the stage for the murder, thievery, and usurpations which our government has been throwing at us for a while, and if it is not stopped will only get worse.
The only difference between a defeatist and a realist is who is wrong. They were hanging 'defeatists' in Berlin, even while the Russian army was shelling the outskirts.
If anything should make you sick, it should be the state of the Republic, not that people recognize it.
But one of the fundamental precepts in the American experiment has been drastically altered.
Government may now compel commerce.

At this point, all that's left is the initiation of the purges of the people who don't 'think right'.
“But one of the fundamental precepts in the American experiment has been drastically altered.
Government may now compel commerce.”
Oh man, Laz... it’s worse than even you think! I don’t think anyone’s brought this up yet, but:
If they can compel commerce, they can compel WHERE YOU DO COMMERCE.
Live in California and want to move? They can now put a TAX ON YOUR MOVE! Want to relocate a business out of a blue state? Tax. Want to start a second location in a non-union state like Boeing? Tax.
Freepers, if you live in a blue state and have plans on leaving, LEAVE NOW while you still can.
I've been 'preaching' a variant of your statement for years...if you're a conservative, and you live in New England, get out.
You did jump in awfully quick which I also disagreed with, but I would have to concur your last post and your frustration.
I have been here since 1998. I have seen thousands of posts about how the polls are inaccurate and we are really going to win this time...or some other for sure item...only to have my hope dashed by reality.
It does get old...I have gone dormant more than once out of frustration.
How many hundreds and thousands of posts were sure Palin would run?
The problem is that the barriers of “fear of change” and belief in the “status quo” in regards to our elected representatives have created effectively “life appointments” for all intents for our legislature.
47 of our senators were former house members. Average House serves 5 terms...longest is 29 terms. For example Pat Roberts (R-KS) serviced in the house from 1981-1997 and has been their senator since 1997. I don’t know if Pat Roberts is a good or bad guy...but that is WAY too long...
As you point out...these who are supposed to ‘fix’ it all....they haven’t even passed a budget!
Keep plugging away...support your local tea party (I have found that they are much more realistic about goals, common sense about approaches than most of the posters on FR)...fly your flag with pride...mine is flapping in the breeze outside right now. Probably going to get me a Texas come and take it flag or a gadsen.

CAUTION! Make sure brain is in gear BEFORE engaging mouth.
The Chief Justice is nuts! Woe onto the nation. No guardians of the Constitution left, except perhaps some dedicated patriots.
I love this woman.

Thank you SCOTUS indeed. But not for the reasons SP alludes to.
Eye opener? More like a sucker punch.
You bought a flag? I threw away my copies of the Constitution yesterday since it is now useless and today I took my flag to the VFW to be destroyed.
Her endorsements have left a great deal to be desired.
No, she doesn’t get it right. Health care is not a hot potato to be tossed from Congress to the Court and now to the voters. It will be much harder to mobilize the voters than for the nine people on the Court to have made the correct decision.
No one wants to stand up for what is right. All are too eager to pass the responsibility along to something or someone else.
Helpful hint for next time: just throw the flags in the garbage with the Constitution. It'll save you a trip!
I agree with Sarah and I am even starting to think that Roberts knew EXACTLY what he was doing.
Remember Roberts’ stumble administering the oath? I believe he was gagging on the usurpation of power he was a party to and he’s been laying low waiting for an opportunity to strike back... like a snake in the woodpile.
Obama just got bit. He just doesn’t know it yet.
It still doesn’t make Roberts a good SC justice. This was a terrible, terrible ruling. But I think he put his conscience above his job description in this case and did what he could to inject some venom into Obama.
Obama just doesn’t know it yet. He’s still walking around as if nothing happened.
I agree with your statement about your statement.
“fundamentally restoring all that is good in America”

Yeah! applsus applaus
Hear! Hear!
I thought about burning ours in the street yesterday. I put up our Gadsden flag. On July 4th, I am thinking that I might do as others, and fly the One World Goobt Utopian Society (formerly known as the USA) one upside-down and underneath.
I don’t know why I hoarded copies of the Constitution. I guess I can use them for toilet paper when we are cut off from that too.
They threw out the mandate.
Get a clue.
Get a grip.
Go to Hell, newb.
Misleading title. Never a good idea...
Otherwise, I do wish Sarah were President right now.
Look on the bright side. Those anti-Republican guys like Ron Paul? Happily their philosophy didnt advance with this ruling. Thank G-d we have real conservative Republicans appointing strict Constitutionalist to the court, otherwise the jihadis may kill us for our freedoms.
me too
Were you going to pay for 24/7/365 security for her and her family? Do you have ANY IDEA how expensive that is?
http://www.reynoldsprotection.com/Executives.html
Of course it matters.
A TEApublican Congress and President could impeach SCOTUS RATs.
Roberts was just a little too cutesy clever by half. He thinks he pulled a fast one.
Social Matters don't matter right?
Are you referring to any specific Representatives, or just Congressional members in general?
I would (respectfully) disagree with that. The SCOTUS does not reverse itself. Even the horrible Dred Scott decision was not reversed by the SCOTUS -- a constitutional convention did that.
Heck, even the modern Vatican can say: "sorry" regarding its past treatment of men of science like Galileo, but the SCOTUS just goes on destroying our rights and liberties (Kelo vs New London). No reversals, no "sorrys". Nothing. Just an out of control bunch of people who have the position for life.
ONLY a constitutional convention can correct this mess.
Learn to read and comprehend - only a retard could misinterpret what she said.
Wheres the barf alert?
On JCBreckenridge's PDS Post!!
Sarah Louise and I share an Alma Mater. She had the chance to learn how to deal in fundamentals , facts, and do research, just as I did. AND she majored in journalism which might mean she can write better than I can. Her writings are always accurate and thotful and deserve to be read carefully-———and I still support her for veep, pres, or whatever she wants to go for and she’s STILL the only reason I sent McPain any money.
Then who DO you have time for?
"Delusional" comes to mind for those who think this can be fixed if we just "vote for them one more time".
You are delusional if you think that's what she said. She voted for NEWT, she isn't responsible for the immature, naive voter who didn't!
Two words: Scott Walker.
Maybe you should read the article and what she put out on Facebook yesterday, and then you should apologize!
