With this absolutely REDICULOUS decision, the Supreme Court has expanded Federal Governmental Power to unprecidented proportions.

It is now according to this court, completely constitutional for the federal government to force you to buy anything or face a penalty under law.

You can now be forced to buy a gun, buy a lottery ticket, buy a head of lettuce, buy an iPad, buy a new car, buy a trip to borneo regardless of whether you want, need, or even can afford it, or face being “taxed” and potentially thrown in jail.

This decision is unconscionable and indefensible, and defies every concept this nation was founded upon.

NOW THIS IS PERSONAL! It is IMPERATIVE, ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT IN CONGRESS IS THROWN OUT! THIS LAW NEEDS GONE DAY ONE, and IMPEACHMENT PROCEDINGS NEED BEGUN AGAINST MEMBERS OF THIS COURT!

No one who has read the Federalist Papers can remotely claim that the government created by the constituion allows such.

THIS IS NOW PERSONAL, THIS IS NOW THE POINT WHERE THIS GOVERNMENT IS CHANGED OR ABOLISHED.... IT STARTS TODAY.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

actually,it seems the Roberts court has ruled if the government decides that for the common welfare we all need a head of lettuce, it can tax us and then buy us all a head of lettuce

slight distinction

of course there wont be enough lettuce to go around because the lettuce growers will be heavily regulated and wont be able to charge enough to grow it all

So some folks will get taxed but won't get their lettuce. The government will decide on a “fair” system to ration lettuce.

And yet, I doubt anyone reading the anti-federalist papers would be much surprised... they correctly identified many of the problems, not of the Constitution per se but of the [corrupt] people using such a Constitution.

I agree.

This is going need a constitutional amendment to fix this.

One that says the federal government can not tax someone (penalty or otherwise) for engaging or refusing to engage in an activity.

What if you decide not to go to college? The feds can now make you pay a “tax penalty” for not getting as much education as they think you should.

What if you don’t read a specific book? Tax penalty.

Don’t show up at a rally to support the government? Tax penalty.

The list is endless. I’m not sure people really realize the Pandora’s box that has been opened here.
