Anyone who has health care with an employer just lost it today. Your employer will pay the fine and you will be dumped into the health care pool. Your salary will go up little to none, but your taxes will go up big time to pay for all the deadbeats. The hard working poeple just lost big time! I just hope the unions also are subject to be dumped in the pool with the rest of us!

My observation is that most tea partiers are less stupid than you.
They didn’t say the mandate was a tax, they said the penalty for following the mandate is a tax. Slippery way around.
If it is a tax, than the court cannot make a ruling on the Constitutionality of the tax (because of the Anti-Injunction Act) until the tax is actually imposed in 2014.
Since Obamacare is now considered a tax, and if it remains on the books until 2014, I would presume that the issue of a mandated purchase can be re-addressed once someone actually has to pay out any money (as a tax) to forego insurance.
It will be harder to unravel this mess by then, but the court challenges are not over.

I also believe that this will doom Obamas re-election in November but I'm hardly sanguine about a 'President Romney' and a Republican congress repealing the monstrosity that is 'Obamacare'. However, I'll still vote Republican and hope for the best while, realistically, expecting much less.

I’m not real sure what this whole decision means in the long run since IANAL, but I’m not real confident. If there are openings in the decision that allow Congress to gut it or not. So, although I’m extremely disappointed in SCOTUS for not just stomping this into oblivion and throwing into the ashpile of history, I’m going through a gut check, I’m not giving up.

If Kagan had recused herself, the vote would have been 4-4 which means the law would have been upheld. Recusal still should have applied on principle.
The handwriting was on the wall when the Arizona immigration case decision came down. The ACA law will never be repealed, it is a stepping stone to single payor. Follow the money, always follow the money.
