I followed the Mass Care discussion because I lived up there for a while and it was simple. They either passed something and override his veto or he gets involved and inserts some sanity, which he tried to do. Either way it was going to pass, so what? At least he tried. He didn’t whine and bitch and moan and cry, like a lot of my fellow freepers are.
What we have in front of us is a clear and distinct choice. You can be one of the deniers and sit on your thumbs and use pretzel logic to justify yourself of you can join the fight and vote for repeal. It’s up to you.
We need a republican in the White House to appoint conservative judges, like Scalia,Alito,or Thomas. Yes I know Romney is a RINO, but he’s the nominee, so you better get behind him. If you sit on the sidelines we could end up with Obummer for another 4 yrs, and then where would you be?
If you’re able to think strategically, you might understand that the electorate is divided among the liberals, independents, and conservatives. Libs and conservatives make up the base of their parties and are generally safe votes for their parties. The independents, the swing vote, becomes the deciding factor in an election. A candidate must attract the swing vote, and to do that, they can’t be at the extreme end of the political spectrum, or at least not campain from that position. I would have crawled across broken glass to vote for a true tea party conservative, but such a candidate would not have attracted the middle, and we’d have another 4 yrs of president Zero.
In my opinion, it’s vastly more important to win back the Senate and maintain control of the House, than it is to have a true conservative in the White House. And it’s much easier to get your tea partiers in congress than it is to elect one to the presidency. Congress sets the budget and agenda, the president just gets to sign their legislation. Think about it.

Most probably, the latter. If anyone here is interested, the most common form of pre-Revolutionary activity in the 18th century was the jailbreak. An armed mob, usually armed with clubs, would go to the jailhouse, overpower the sheriff and/or deputy, and spring somone who was unjustly imprisoned. Often, they got away with it: the sheriff didn't send an armed posse after the sprung man.

The Supreme Court knows, the Dems know, we all know that the legislation was writtne to have an individual purchase mandate.
However you slice it, the court just changed that to something they could allow to go through.

1) The base and Tea PArty are going to get energized like never before as opposed to the left getting energized. They think they’ve won, and we know now for sure this thing has to go down through the election.
2) Romney can and must IMMEIDATELY begin using a talking point that not only do we have this horrible health care law that everyone dislikes and knows is going to cost more and provide less good health care, he can also now indicate that is has also morphed into the GREATEST TAX INCREASE IN US HISTORY.
