The pictures of home burning on the edge of Colorado Springs that they are showing on the weather channel are terrible.

Yes. The fire is stretched out for what looks like a mile or more and it looks like it’s coming down into neighborhoods.

I haven’t heard anything about the zoo. However, one of the evacuation sites is a Cheyenne Mtn school, so I would think that area is okay

If the Waldo Canyon fire has come this far down hill and east with the southeast winds caused by outflow boundaries from isolated and largely dry storm cells , what in hell has happened to Woodland Park?

prevailing wind has kept it at the mouth of ute pass and north of hwy 24
As I understand the plan, if it gets into the pass, they are not going to try and stop it in the pass - i.e green mountain falls, cascade etc will be sacrificed.

We were in CS about 2 weeks ago. They had an unbelievable hail storm. It did $2800 damage to my husbands truck. The hail near the Citidal Mall was as high as the cars. We were there the day after the storm and the hail was still there; it looked like 6 ft of snow fell.
You think God is trying to tell this country something? I see there are fires all over the country.
Please pray for my friends...just lost his Mom’s home near Garden of the gods and fire is nearing his brothers home... they are real close to loosing 2 homes!

I think it is mostly because of the lack of controlled fires you folks decided on when you voted in your representatives. I think it is stupid for states not to have controlled fires. Had you not voted for stupid people the fires may have happened but not nearly as bad. I feel bad for the people but hopefully they learn to be more careful in their voting.
Our daughter just texted the message....”the Flying W is about to burn” Said fire is only 5% contained. They are an hour north at Roxburough Park. Praying for the safety of those in the path of the fire.
God said things were going to change and they will never go back to old way. So, yes, God is changing and punishing this country for its foolishness and sins.
My daughter who lives near Jackson Park just evacuated her home.

The High Park Fire near Fort Collins was started by lightning, as many wildfires are.
Seems to be no cause determined yet for this fire.

They got out and that is the good thing....Prayers to those who did NOT get out. Those are the folks who need it desperately. I feel for those who are going to lose their lives....things can be rebuilt, but lives cannot be replaced. Huge insurance money is coming into Colorado for sure.
FWIW, approximately 20-25 fires caused by arson in teller and park county in the past week.

Unwise conduct brings about its own punishment. Hail happens no matter what people do, but wildfires are worse because of supposed green forest management policies.
A bit baffling how something completely routine and normal needs God's wrath for an explanation.
And a bit odd to single out one of the most religious cities in the country, suggesting poor aim.

This is a ranch, according to Google. It almost sounded like a gas station.
Actually, these fires are not caused by arson. Nearly all of the ones that are burning right now were caused by lightning. It is extremely dry and hot so that is making it very challenging but for now, they have been started by natural causes.
