“sending weapons in the violent corrupt black hole of Mexico was an insane idea. “
Either you haven’t read THAT NONE OF THE GUNS IN OPERATION WIDE RECEIVER NEVER MADE IT INTO MEXICO, our you are a liar trying to bash Bush. Which is it?
You got that right
Workman proves to be quite prescient.
Thanks for posting. This was as clear and succinct of an explanation as exists anywhere for the differences between the two programs. Excellent. Too bad the media is not interested.
Under -0 at least two American LEO and hundred of Mexican DEAD.
Which is it? How about this?
The first known ATF "gunwalking" operation to Mexican drug cartels, named Operation Wide Receiver, began in early 2006 and ran into late 2007. Licensed dealer Mike Detty informed the ATF of a suspicious gun purchase that took place in February 2006 in Tucson, Arizona. In March he was hired as a confidential informant working with the ATF's Tucson office, part of their Phoenix, Arizona field division.[23] With the use of surveillance equipment, ATF agents monitored additional sales by Detty to straw purchasers. With assurance from ATF "that Mexican officials would be conducting surveillance or interdictions when guns got to the other side of the border",[24] Detty would sell a total of about 450 guns during the operation.[22] These included AR-15s, semi-automatic AK-pattern rifles, and Colt .38s. The vast majority of the guns were eventually lost as they moved into Mexico.[7][23][25]
Another, smaller probe occurred in 2007 under the same ATF Phoenix field division. It began when the ATF identified Mexican suspects who bought weapons from a Phoenix gun shop over a span of several months. The probe ultimately involved over 200 guns, a dozen of which were lost in Mexico.
It was a bad program and was stopped. Rush questioned why the current administration, 2 yrs later, restarted another one with no tracking, when the people involved in WR said never again, bad idea (paraphrase)
F & F was shut down only after the death of a border agent.
Look and see where DC and Chicago are in the cities with the highest drug use in the US....
Also look at the names beginning with A in the first 100 posts of the Chicago crime thread. Also note their countries of origin and it’s position on the drug routes from Afganistan....and their connections to banking...possible money laundering.

Obumah may be our first “drug cartel” pResident.
Tell that to the guy in room #21
Go, Rush! Hammer that jug-eared lying Marxist!!!
You can tell him. But you can’t tell him much. lol
I see. You use Wiki for your source. I know because I read that stuff yesterday. Try again. You’re not impressing anyone.
Lets see if you can be honest and see how long it takes ya.
You deny no weapons were lost in Mexico during Wide Receiver?
Yes or no?
"""As a result of the mistakes made in Wide Receiver, guns were lost: approximately 450 made it into Mexico. As a result, the botched operation launched in 2006 and in this instance, actually botched was shut down in 2007."""
“”””I see. You use Wiki for your source. I know because I read that stuff yesterday. Try again. Youre not impressing anyone.””””
You only see what ya want to see.
How about this slick? Ya want more sources?

Wide Receiver was less than one-quarter the size of Fast and Furious, involving about 500 guns. About 450 guns made it across the border into Mexico.

The other night Hannity had Michelle Malkin and the left wing loon Tamara Holder on his show and the subject was Eric Holder obstructing justice. That lunatic Holder spun that Fast and Furious was stopped, because it did not work, but never mentioned that Brian Terry was killed and that was the reason why it was stopped
What does Wiki have to do with this?
Where’d ya go??
You are trying to change the subject. It has nothing to do with illegal immigration
“never mentioned that Brian Terry was killed and that was the reason why it was stopped”
Holder did go the route of “he died only a year ago.” She never mentioned his name.
IIRC, documentation goes back to March 2009 on this, meaning it was out of the chute immediately upon inauguration...so documentation/speeches could be approved in the pipeline.
No, I don’t deny guns were lost in WR. But it nowhere approached the number of guns lost, that were never even traced in F&F. Also, the Bush administration worked with the Mexican government. We handled surveillance of the guns between point-of-sale and the border. We then turned surveillance over to the Mexican government. Obama & Holder ran F&F below the radar and even the Mexican government wasn’t aware of the program.
Also, two American officers, one ICE, one BP, lost their lives. There is no evidence of guns used in the WR program taking the life of an American.
You want to blame Bush, then to to the DUmp where you belong. Never, ever converse with me again. You disgust me.
