Posted on 06/19/2012 6:30:32 AM PDT by Jacvin
At the center of one of the most widely publicized public corruption cases in Palm Beach County history, Kevin McCartys name is one that rarely goes unrecognized these days. And yet it failed to ring a single bell in the Palm Beach County Elections Supervisors Office recently, when elections workers sent McCarty a brand-new voter registration card little more than a year after returning home from prison and despite a felon status that makes him constitutionally ineligible to vote.
This at a time when the state and federal government continue to do battle, suing each other even, over how best to purge local voter rolls of those who have no right to vote. Clearly, its an issue Palm Beach County hasnt figured out yet.
When asked how such a well-known felon could be sent a new voter registration card, Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher said: I didn't even know his first name was Lawrence. I don't look up felons in the newspaper. This is another instance of bad voter data by the state."

But how can that be possible? Voter fraud is so very RARE! It is scary to think of all the cases that are not caught.
Are the illegal aliens’ and felons’ voter cards signed: “Compliments of Pres. Obama and Eric Holder”?
In Darkest Louisiana, icons were helpfully provided on the ballots, and voters were told to pull the lever under the donkey. Truly, “Voting for Dummies” benefits the Dems’ voter base.
There’s something about too much sun, That must be it. How come it’s always Florida?
It is no coincidence that the last syllable in Florida is ‘duh’.
Roughly 3% of the population is either in prison, on parole or on probation. That’s at any given time, not counting the convicted criminals who are not in any of the above categories. If the authorities haven’t been tracking felons who are no longer in the system, just keeping track of current ones will be a challenge. Palm Beach County has 1.3m inhabitants. Its share of felons could be as large as 13,000 people, assuming no felon moves in from outside the county. Without a full time staffer or a national database, I don’t see how this gets taken care of. They could make voting by felons punishable with a 10 year prison term, but that would probably create the political impetus for restoring felon voting rights.
It’s strange how the Democrats were so eager to “disallow” Military Absentee ballots from overseas posts yet the drag their feet when it comes to removing felons, illegals and the deceased from the rolls.
Outside of scale, is there any difference between what that white hating Holder is attempting to do and the prelude to the Battle of Athens TN?
When you use the full weight of the Department of Just-Us to prevent any attempt to clean up the voter rolls then IMO there is no difference other than scale but I am sure Holder will use HIS people quite effectively like the NBPP in Philly.
It wouldn't surprise me if this whole rabid squirrel act - and I write as a Santorum supporter - put the kibosh on his primary hopes.
But Santorum didnt stop.
"This is Martin Luther King Day, he said. This is a huge deal in the African-American community, because we have very high rates of incarceration, disproportionately high rates, particularly with drug crimes, in the African-American community.
"The bill I voted on was the Martin Luther King Voting Rights bill, he said. And this was a provision that said, particularly targeted African-Americans. And I voted to allow to allow them to have their voting rights back once they completed their sentence. Do you agree with that?"
Romney finally relented, arguing, "I don't think people who have committed violent crimes should be allowed to vote."
Santorum instantly pointed out that when Romney was governor, felons could vote while they were on probation. "Why didn't you try to change that when you were governor of Massachusetts?"
Romney who is favored in Palmetto State polls argued he had a majority-Democratic legislature before Santorum hammered him again.
"What the governor said is he didn't propose anything to change that law, and what he's saying is that the ad that says that I ... voted to allow felons to vote is inaccurate. And it is inaccurate," Santorum raged. "And if I had something the super PAC that was supporting me that was inaccurate, I would go out and say, 'stop it.'"
” Without a full time staffer or a national database, I dont see how this gets taken care of.”
So Holder is attempting to prevent states from using a Federal Government database to make sure only eligible individuals vote.
DHS fought for some time but eventually released the database but not before the timing between a primary election and the cleaning of the voter rolls became an issue. DHS and that racist Holder wanted to make sure that the database could not be used prior to the primary. If they had held out a few months longer they could have put the general election into turmoil and given the legal battles Just-Us is pursuing, they might very well prevent purging the rolls of ineligible voters before the November election and certainly will do their best to prevent any Voter ID initiatives from taking place.

Representative Bucher was born in Escondido, California on October 27, 1958. She moved to Florida in 1985.
How is it the DEMOCRAPS get voter registraton cards sent to them in the mail
I have never gotten one
He’ll be voting early, often, and Democrat!
We just moved to Wyoming from Minnesota. Our son moved out here 4 years ago.
So guess what I get in the mail the other day --- a notice saying that I will be removed from the voter rolls since I have moved.
Now that is just fine !!! No problem...
However, my son has never gotten one of these --- each time when we went to vote, I reminded the ladies that my son is no longer a MN resident (I could see his name on the list and anyone could have just said that they were him -- no id required, you just state your name).
Nor has my husband received one of these postcards either -- and he actually moved out here earlier that I did.
So what is the difference between me & my husband and son ?
Well all the political donations have been in my name (I wrote the checks) and none of them went to Democrats. That is the ONLY difference between us. My son is gone from MN for 4 years, my husband 9 months. I have been gone for 6 months and I get the notice.
Very interesting... Wish I was there to see the voter rolls come November, my son & husband will be on them, but I won't be.
I wonder what kook will be using their names to vote. Plus I am very curious how they knew I left ? Big brother perhaps ?
“Hell be voting early, often, and Democrat!” yep that’s the problem. although in this case McCarty is a Republican. the problem is if he got a new voter card, who else got one!
Almost thought this was going to be about O.J., but I remember he is still in the pokey right now...And I’m not sure he still resides in Florida, if he ever officially did...
I’m willing to be every dog registered for a license received one!

Each state handles their voter notifications as they deem necessary. In Texas each registered voter gets a new card every two years. Supposedly if you don’t live at the address on the card it is supposed to be return to the registrars office and not forwarded.
The law is similar here but yet people who haven’t voted in 20 years still get mailed new voter cards. and convicted felons, and dead people, and illegal immigrants.
Did you apply for a new driver’s license in your new state? Did your husband and son do so?
The 'doting court eunuchs' of the MSM need to ask him when he signed up, where, and why.
My guess is his name was added by Democrats who will 'vote for him' when he doesn't show up. It's NOT that dems vote the dead - they vote the people who don't come to the polls - and the dead are just swept up into that...
Again, Kevin McCarty - big time criminal - IS NOT THE TYPE to register to vote.
lmao, Palm County "hasn't figured (voter fraud -CO) out yet" like Gun Walker was a "botched sting operation."
Back in the 2000 election, I found one precinct in Palm County in which 267% of eligible Democrat voters went to Gore. I sorted the precincts according to turnout by party metrics and sent it to Jeb Bush personally and received a personal acknowledgment from him.
Nothing was done.
‘When asked how such a well-known felon could be sent a new voter registration card, Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher said: “He’s a registered Democrat.”’
Rick Scott is the only one in Florida willing to take on this issue.
I moved from N California in Dec 2004 to Nevada.
I went to DMV & got a new driver’s license.
I registered both my vehicles & my horse trailer.
I surrendered my license plates & my driver’s license to the Nevada DMV. The lady told me they are physically sent back to California at least once a month, after notifying California electronically that I am now in Nevada, and properly licensed & registered here.
When my driver’s license came up for renewal in California, I got a notice -——to my NEW & correct Nevada address!!!!!
Then I got notices of renewal on both vehicles & horse trailer also at my NEW and correct Nevada address!!!!!
Then I got reminders of all of the above——4 renewals & 4 reminders of same-—all from California to Nevada.
The second reminders cycle was really rather nasty!
No wonder California is going broke-—they are sending myself and others such paperwork when they no longer have ANY jurisdiction over us at all!!!
I am not an isolated incident-—
My neighbors in N Calif moved to Kansas & got the same treatment—for 2 full years....at their new and correct KANSAS address!!!
Perhaps the Florida brain trust thought Kevin McCarthy, the actor, had registered to vote.
Never mind he died a few years ago.
One of his more memorable parts was in the 1950’s Night of the Zombies. (I think that was the name.)
In Florida, Zombies are allowed to vote.
Both son & hubby have new WY dl's. I have not changed mine yet as at one point, I thought I may have to go back for awhile for our daughter.
Yes, you would think a computer program could fix the problem, but this is what happens when government is in charge. On top of that, you have an extremely liberal Dem running the one office in governement that should be nonpartisan and nonpolitical. With all the technology available, it amazes me we still can’t get the voting right.
at least it’s not just Florida. Did you see that story on drudge about a dog getting a voter ID in Virginia?
I received a new one a few months back because of the redistricting thanks to the 2010 census.
I wonder-does Florida have a motor voter law?
He established a residence here to safeguard his Mansion & other effects from Nicole’s parent’s civil suit via Florida bankruptcy law.
did records show if he voted post conviction?
Ever had contact with the activist-rich departments of County government?
Easily 80% of them are incompetent and common sense impaired.
In order to practice common sense one must first be in possesion of common knowledge.
I doubt more than 5% of these morons could score better that 20% on the American Cultural Literacy test.
Whatdoyamean felons can't vote?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
...and the State will blame the Feds, ad the Feds will blame Bush...
hahahaha all those haha’s are infectious. No responsibility. Just another political football to kick around
The most disturbing part of this is that nobody knows whos fault it is. Exactly who is minding the store?
Not so easy to find the same information regarding Palm Beach County..or Miami-Dade....
Anyone care to guess why that would be true?
Check out your County Sup of Elections and see who might be running against him or her. If your Sup of Elections has done a good job, like in Pinellas, by all means support him or her! Looks like the Palm Beach County Sup needs to be checked out! By the way, if you are in Orange County, please check out Dan Fanelli who is running for Sup of Elections! http://www.ocfordan.com/
ANOTHER NOTE: Go to this link to see the candidates who qualified and are running statewide in the Primary in August. Your Congressional District may have changed like mine did! Please check out your Congressional Primary candidates and give your support to your favorite!
Just heard this morning that LeMieux is leaving the FL Senate Republican Primary Race and gave his support to Connie Mack. I guess Mack is the favorite and the one with the most name recognition, but I am still supporting Mike McCalister to face Bill Nelson in November! If you happen to support Mike, please know he will need our $ support.
We need new blood in Congress, and I know Mike McCalister to be a fine Conservative, honest, and a plus for me is Mike is a Veteran. http://mikemccalisterforsenate.com/ Of course, I will end up supporting whomever wins the Primary to face Bill Nelson! We MUST send Nelson into retirement!!
Send Gov. Scott an email showing your support
If the effect of the NVRA (Motor Voter) is to force a state to allow never-eligible non-citizens the opportunity to vote, he wrote, then the statute might violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution, which guarantees that the right to vote cannot be denied by a dilution of the weight of a citizens vote.
As for the Voting Rights Act claim, Detzner wrote, Florida already received federal permission to remove noncitizens, which is clearly spelled out in Florida law.
Whats more, the Voting Rights Act applies to only five Florida counties Monroe, Hillsborough, Collier, Hardee and Hendry and not the other 62 in Florida, including Miami-Dade, where about 1,600 of the 2,700 potential noncitizens were initially identified by the state in a database created by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
About 500 people in Miami-Dade have been found to be lawful citizens and voters, and 13 noncitizens have been found. Two of them might have voted and could face prosecution. The county has been unable to verify the citizenship of more than 1,100 others.
Assuming the purge halts, those people could vote this year even if some are noncitizens.
"Not a single eligible voter as far, as I know, has been removed from the voter rolls," Scott said Wednesday on WNDB radio in Daytona Beach, according to a News Service of Florida transcript. "Not one. And were working to keep it that way."
"Their vote should not be diluted by people who dont have the right to vote," Scott said. "We need to be reviewing our voter rolls and making sure only those individuals who have the right to vote are voting."
This hardly seems like an approach earnestly designed to protect the integrity of elections and to ensure that eligible voters have their votes counted, said the letter, written by Scotts hand-picked secretary of state, Ken Detzner, a fellow Republican.
Detzner also submitted a list of four questions that he wants the DOJ to answer:
I like Mike too! :-)
The Feds were to provide the data base to Governor Scott and Sec. Detzner upon their request almost a YEAR ago. They of course delayed and did not provide the information. Now they say it is too late for the state of Florida to clean up their voter rolls.
We need to call out any Florida County Supervisor of Elections who does not follow Sec. of State Detzner’s directions! They need to be voted out when their position comes up for re-election!
Just this morning I received the following from a Freeper friend who used to live in Texas, but now lives in CA. Look what the city of Dallas did!! Great idea! It also could be a way to make sure illegals are not on the voter rolls!
The City of Dallas , Texas , has passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide proof of insurance, the car is towed. To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of insurance to have the car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.
Shortly after the No Insurance ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after nine days.. Over 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals . Not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.
Accident rates have gone down 47% , and Dallas’ solution gets uninsured drivers off the road without making them show proof of nationality.
Our Tea Party Group Backs Governor Scott on the Purge of Voter Rolls!
On February 9th, 2010, Judicial Watch announced the launch of its 2012 Election Integrity Project to pressure states and localities, through Judicial Watch lawsuits if necessary, to clean up voter registration rolls pursuant to Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). A Judicial Watch investigation based upon publicly available data indicates voter rolls in the following states appear to contain the names of individuals who are ineligible to vote: Mississippi, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, California, and Colorado. The Election Integrity Project will be conducted in partnership with True the Vote and the Election Law Center.
