Wisconsin state GOP. Sen. Van Wanggaard asked elections officials Friday for a recount in his recall race, the outcome of which will decide the majority party in the state Senate.
An official canvass this week showed the Racine Republican trailing his Democratic challenger by 834 votes, or 1.2 percent.
Democrats had called on Wanggaard to concede, saying a recount would only delay their inevitable and waste taxpayer money. But Wanggaard's campaign said it was concerned about possible reports of voting irregularities, and said it wanted to ensure the outcome was accurate.
Given how many votes were cast in the election and the margin separating the candidates, the recount will cost Wanggaard $5 for each of the 137 wards, or $685. Taxpayers will be on the hook for any remainder of the recount bill.
The state Senate currently has 16 Democrats and 16 Republicans. The winner of Wanggaard's race will give his party majority control.
If the recount reverses the outcome, the loss by Democrat John Lehman would...

Kudoes to Wanggaard, but...
The Dhimmicrats will manufacture more votes (they’ll need a buffer, you see) and Wanggaard will lose by more than 800+. I predict some where north of 1100.
Challenging a rat party demon is NEVER a waste of tax payer money... NEVER!

I should think he might have a good chance of reversing the results IF the recount isn’t totally dominated by crooked Dem judges and other operatives.
I wonder if his district included any of the polling stations where those union guys bussed a truck full of senility victims from one poll to another? Or how many votes came from Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, not to mention zombies.
Wisconsin Senator asks for recount in election dispute
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list
A recount will mean that the Republicans hold control over the Senate for at least another month, even if Wanggaard eventiually loses. The legislature is out of session for now, but the Governor could call them back in special session if he wants to.
Or folks bused in from Michigan; was that story ever either debunked or corroborated? Some guy called in to a radio show saying he was on a bus going to WI to vote.
Kudos to the Repubs on this one. They should drag it out and make it as unpleasant as possible. Challenge every vote and raise holy hell. Keep the Wisconsin senate tied up in knots. It’s time to take off the gloves!
What’s more, the whole recall was a waste of taxpayer money, brought about entirely by the Dems themselves, and Wanggaard will be charged for the cost of the recount, but NOW they want to whine about it?
He also needs to ask about the validity of the voters who who, whether they are who they said they are.
The Rats are suspected of cheating in Wisconsin. I remember someone found many pre-authorized voting applications at a Community college a few days after the election in this area. The applications were already signed by the registar. Some were blank, so partially filled out.
He won’t win, but that’s really not the issue. Now all the the voting illegalities that occurred down in Racine will have to be covered and discussed while the recount goes on.
Listening to Sykes this AM the amount of fraud and the complete lack of subtlety about it was so egregious during the recall that it will hopefully embarrass the GAB (doubtful) and spur Van Hollen to get the Voter ID back in front of the WSSC.
“Democrats called on Wanggaard to concede, saying a recount would waste taxpayer money.”
Since when have democrats been concerned about wasting TP money?
When its pulled from their own pockets.
If that’s the story about the ones found behind a Racine community center yesterday, I doubt there’ll be any more on it until the sheriff’s investigation is complete. Whether that will amount to anything more than returning the ballotts — and the story — to the dumpster, is an open question.
The problem is that one of the ways they cheated was to have a poll worker enter the absentee ballots into the computer. Now there is no way to differentiate those votes from the legit votes. Once again the Demonrats steel an election.
If the shoe was on the other foot, the Democrats would challenge the result from here till doomsday. You’d never hear the end of it.
From another thread it sounds likely they will find fraud. If so, I’d like to see some folks do jail time.
Not anymore. The game has changed. He should fight the bastards for every single vote. Even if he loses, he should make 'em sweat bullets.
"The state Senate currently has 16 Democrats and 16 Republicans. The winner of Wanggaard's race will give his party majority control."
Incorrect.
The GOP will actually regain control of the Senate 17-16 next week with the swearing-in of Rep. Jerry Petrowski as the new Senator in District 29. Petrowski replaces a vacancy created by the April resignation of Sen. Pam Galloway. Galloway resigned for family health reasons just after a recall petition was certified in her district. Galloway's resignation essentially converted her recall race into a special election to replace her. Since April, neither party held the Senate majority with a 16-16 split.
Until the recount in the Wanggaard-Lehman race is completed, Sen. Wanggaard remains seated in office.
Regardless of Galloway's resignation, Petrowski's election or the potential defeat of Wanggaard, Senate control during the balance of 2012 is illusiory. The Senate has not been in session since April and will NOT be in session again until after the November 2012 election - when Republicans are anticipated to gain 3-4 seats in new district lines advantageous to the GOP drawn under the decennial redistricting.
From the article you linked:
According to a source familiar with the allegations who wishes to remain anonymous, multiple voter registration forms were discovered, including mostly-blank forms that had been pre-certified by an election official.
I wouldn't think it would be difficult to identify the election official who pre-certified blank forms.
Perfectly reasoned democRAT logic:
"We created this mess. You must give up your rights so we can fight for more of the same so we never feel the sting accountability again."
After all the many tax million$ spent on those frivolous recalls.. now the dems are concerned about wasting money.
Truly they have no shame.
The Wisconsin Senate was split 17 Republicans to 16 Democrats before Galloway resigned. Her resignation made it 16-16.
With Petrowski replacing Galloway (a Republican for a Republican) and Lehman replacing Wanggaard (a Democrat for a Republican) the Senate will be split 17 Democrats to 16 Republicans.
It is moot, however, since the Senate is out of session until next year and the November elections should result in the Republicans picking up at least a couple of Democrat seats.
I'm not sure what your point is.
I agree, we must challenge the rats.
I know there was enough demorat fraud to have turned that election.
Yesterday Mark Belling discussed this and said that unfortunately, once the fraudulent ballots are cast, there is no way to uncast them.
However, a recount to stall the dems is a good idea.
Wanggaard is in a district where the unions came in busloads from Michigan and other states to vote. The crooked poll workers let them vote with “same day registration” with flyers with an address and the name of “occupant”. Not a joke; I wish it was.
We are in absolute perfect agreement!
LLS
Excellent suggestion. This isn’t really about Van Wanggaard’s seat, but about the big fight for vote integrity. Win it here and you begin to turn back the tide that is drowning our republic.
Same day registration is and obscenity! I wonder, will Republicans do anything about all these “occupants” who voted? Can’t they contest votes that are obvious frauds?
This fellow and control of the Senate was a ‘real hidden’ target on the Union thug agenda. On Fox News election coverage, a correspondent from a local TV outlet misspoke the hidden agenda with florid detail. Racine was a test of a major electioneering project targeting Racine and now; key districts nationwide. Furthermore, 1000 official ballots were found in a Racine dumpster. Those 1000 are part of a possible 10,000 missing, or unaccounted for ballots that remain ‘lost’ until they need to be found. They were found in a key Democrat voting center. If you can remember 2008, the Mayor of Milwkee
ordered 120,000 more official ballots beyond the total number of registered voters.
Compare the recall database to names on the new registrations and I would bet a lot of them show up living in a different place when they signed the recall papers.
Itwill be interesting to see stats on Pub and Dem registration numbers in that state senate district. If the Pubs had a pretty good margin, say 5000 votes or more, with Walker’s win, one would think that Pubs would also vote for the Pub being recalled! The recount will probably fail due to Dems always having ‘lost, found, hidden’ votes somewhere. And if the registrar of voters is a Dem, then the die is cast already.
Some?
Try BOXES and boxes...
I had no idea there were boxes and boxes. Have you heard any official explanations why they were there and why they were pre-authorized? Sure seem like corruption!
They are now cremated, no doubt.
Evidence, you know.
Shouldn't that be done with both party observers present?
