No silver lining for Obama in slew of recent polls (A total, comprehensive disaster)
American Thinker ^ | 06/14/2012 | Rick Moran

If it gets any worse, they might call for a suicide watch on David Axelrod.

Here's a thumbnail summary of some polls out recently. Gallup:

"The 46% of registered voters supporting Obama today is five percentage points below the 51% supporting him in final weeks of the 2008 election campaign. Similarly, whites' support for Obama is six points lower than it was in October/November 2008 (38% vs. 44%), and blacks' is down four points (87% vs. 91%). At the same time, Hispanics' support, at 67%, is essentially unchanged.

Whites make up about three-quarters of all U.S. registered voters, and are therefore the most important racial or ethnic group in any election, at least mathematically. Even if Obama were to regain his 2008 level of support among blacks and improve his support somewhat among Hispanics, he could still lose if his support among whites slips any further. By the same token, even a slight increase in whites' support could secure his re-election."

Reuters:

"President Barack Obama's approval ratings have dipped to their lowest level since January on deep economic worries, wiping out most of his lead in the White House race over Republican rival Mitt Romney, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Tuesday.

The percentage of Americans who approve of Obama's job performance dropped from 50 a month ago to 47, matching his mark in early January. The number who think the country is on the wrong track rose 6 percentage points in a month to 63 percent.

The doubts about Obama's leadership helped Romney pull to within 1 point of the Democratic president in the White House race - 45 percent to 44 percent - among registered voters with less than five months to go before the November 6 election. Obama led by 7 points a month ago."

Most of the people I know who supported Hussein still do, and when they have nothing good to say about him, just double down against Republicans.

“WTF Wisconsin?” was all one Hussein Head I know could say a couple weeks ago.

All they know is “Republican BAD, Democrat GOOD”, and a few “setbacks” for their messiah isn’t going to change that.

That’s called strategy and the GOP has no clue on how to execute it....BUT I like your thinking. Makes perfect sense.

Dick Morris predicted a massive defeat for “the one” many months ago. Maybe he was right.

What percentage of people rely on the govt. for their means of living ?

What percentage of registered voters do the same ?

What percentage of likely voters do the same ?

All we can hope for is hispanic voters continue to increase their taxable incomes so that they see the light. They are becoming the demographic block that will swing future elections.

Yeah, I agree... As thrilled as I will be to see Obama defeated (hopefully), the mere fact that nearly half the country supports these policies, just tells us we are on borrowed time as a Nation

"I don’t expect Obama to finish his term and more and more I expect it to be due to a mental breakdown, possibly in public."

This frantic fund raising by obuma must be taking its toll. Several days lately he has had as many as 6 fundraisers per day. That has to be draining both physically and mentally. Then when he hears that he was out raised by Romney it must really rock him.

Comment for National Journal...

I live in a predominatly Dem district that supported Obama in 2008. I do not know one Dem who will be voting for him again in this election. The question facing the majority of Dems in my district is do they vote for Romney or do they stay home on election day.

Others were going to hold there nose and vote OBAMA

I like the “public breakdown” possibility. It would make for some great video for years to come. I’d play it over and over for my loser relatives who are so LIB that it is disgusting.

Agreed, we should let Obama think he can win so that we actually have an election in November....

I agree. My biggest fear is Bambi will be “forced” to pull a LBJ. Then it’s Hillary. Bambi will have to be “forced”. I agree he will never step down on his own.

-—I am always amazed at the 47 percent who still approve. With that many lost souls, one wonders how this country will survive.——

Terrifying. And I can’t imagine a worse, electable president.

I am encouraged at the polling results, however my real concern is that how does this translate to the electoral college? He needs 270 to get re-elected and he still has comfortable lead in the polls of the big EV states.

In theory, could he not get re-elected carrying fewer states then Romney but have more EV?

Dont believe for one minute 47% of americans approve, that’s bunk

Obama has a popular election MAX of 42-43% of the vote, and thats if he runs a flawless campaign.. and his campaign has been anything but flawless.

This guy doesn’t get it, he doesn’t know how to campaign, he’s a neophite.

He knows how to read a teleprompter, that’s it... he doesn’t know how to campaign... Just watch him, its a disaster. His campaign, and what he says is never a matter of “voters aren’t buying it” its always “If I just explain it better”... and that’s a fools errand.

He’s out there criticizing romney for having a campaign that could fit on a tweet as though that’s a bad thing... the reality is, and anyone in marketing of anything can tell you, you better have an elevator pitch... ANd Obama has none.. and isn’t likely to get one..

His “Slogan” of FORWARD is a joke, hes out there trying to play professor as though the electorate is just too stupid to see the economy is a wreck and his policies have helped that along immensely... if only they would listen to him play more games with words and his dissertation.

This guys a DISASTER of a politician, he’s never built a political base, or consensus in his life.. he got handed his positions and rode anti-bush/anti-cliton to the white house, he didn’t do it buy building up anything meaningful beneath him. He’s got no foundation.

Once in power he ran roughshod over everyone when he could, and when he had to face opposition, he basically became effectively neutured. Bill Clinton for all his failings was a very good politician, this guy is beyond amateur hour.

Honestly I don’t think he’ll hit 40% of the popular vote on election day.

Yes, the EC breakdown will not be the 49-1 that Regans re-election is, because of the population distribution... and yes there is statistically a possibility that you could lose the popular vote by a significant margin and still hold the EC, and if I were Obama I’d try for this game, because honestly he has ZERO chance at the popular vote...

HOWEVER< Obama isn’t close to even pulling that off.

Republicans gain 6 EC votes out of the gate, thanks to the last census. Obama is toast, he’s lost the rust belt, he’s alienated the blue dogs, which means the only southern state he has even the most remote chance of holding is VA, and that’s not likely.. NC, FL will not go blue. But more importantly he’s lost the RUST BELT thanks to that.

WI, IA, IN, OH are lost to him, and MI and PA most likely as well.

The only Rust Belt states I think he has any prayer of holding are MN and IL...

And if he loses either of those states, you will see new england states fall as well.

NH will go red as well.

Obama is not going to be remotely close enough on election day to win the EC but lose the popular vote.. hes going to lose by 12-15 points at least.
