Juan Williams‘ patience expired fairly openly on Hannity tonight after an attack of “elitism” from Michelle Malkin that stemmed from a debate about Attorney General Eric Holder where Williams took offense at Malkin saying Williams and other liberals only blamed Bush for President Obama’s failings, to which he initially replied “I’m a real reporter, not a blogger out in the blogosphere somewhere.”
“All you can say is Plame, Plame, Plame; blame, blame, blame; Bush, Bush, Bush,” Malkin told Williams as he argued that the current national security White House leaks were not different from what had transpired in other White Houses. Williams took offense to that, telling Malkin that he was a “real reporter, not a blogger out in the blogosphere somewhere,” which in turn visibly offended Malkin, who retorted, “right, because I’m not a real reporter.” Williams completed his point that reporters “did not get any classified information,” over both Hannity and Malkin, before Hannity gave Malkin the last word.
She used that last word against Williams. “The American people are sick of the kind of snotty condescension from liberal elite journalists like Juan Williams who tell us that the rest of us are not doing our jobs, when the point is that when Eric Holder was shamefully approved and nominated and approved to be Attorney General–” At this point, after a heavy eyeroll and mouthing “Oh my God,” Williams interrupted to inform her that she was “way off topic” and “not talking about what we’re debating here tonight on Sean’s show.” Hannity interjected when Williams tried to repeat that nothing different had happened in the Bush administration, and Williams and Malkin coolly thanked each other at the end of the segment.
Williams was the first high-profile liberal journalist to actively defend Clarence Thomas during the confirmation hearings.
Yeah, and what has he done since 1992 that has a conservative position?

I'm not going to dignify that question with a response. It's actually possible to two disagreeing individuals without taking sides against either. If I had to sit next to one on a flight to Sydney, I'd pick Malkin. Actually, I've met her a couple of times. She's cute, but she's a bit too serious for my taste. I prefer Laura Ingraham, who does have a sense of humor, and is quite a bit smarter than Malkin. Thomas, an extremely intelligent man, lists Williams among his closest friends.

It was abundantly clear that Hannity wasn’t up to the task, so someone had to take him on.

The question was not illogical. You used Williams’ position on Thomas 20 years ago as some kind of marker of “conservative equivalence”, then you could not answer if that was a consistent position since then. Instead, as you usually do, you chose to attack me as being illogical.
Juan always has been an intellectual lightweight. Like a blind squirrel, he finds a nut every once and awhile. But what does he ever add to the conversation? Not much, except to show how incapable he is of not supporting an intellectually honest position.

Then you state you would not dignify my next question with a response, and then proceed to do just that. The name dropping was quite cute—good for you—but who Thomas lists as friends is not responsive to whether Juan is an intellectual lightweight or not. Thomas may just like Juan, who is very likable, but then again, Juan is not paid to be likable. He is a political commentator, one who sees things through a certain set of lenses, and seems incapable of changing those lenses to reflect reality.
I feel so privileged that you took the time away from your navel gazing to tell me how tiresome my posts are. You seem offended that I actually said that you were not compelled to read my posts, especially in the light of your previous statements to me on this and two other threads, that I was so obviously intellectually challenged.
I would tell you to look into the mirror, but I suspect that you do entirely too much of that already, and are overwhelmingly taken with what you see there.

I also concurred that Williams is openly liberal, your attempts at building a strawman argument notwithstanding. This is what I am referring to when I talk about a compulsive need to post stupidity. This will certainly break your heart, but neither I nor Juan Williams are going to lose any sleep over your decision. Again, the man is openly liberal. No one is disputing that (except one idiot, with himself). That being said, Mr. Williams frequently chooses intellectual honesty over politically correct liberal boilerplate. One occasion, it cost him his job. His friendship with Jutice Thomas predates the SCOTUS confirmation hearings by a decade, to when Mr. Thomas served the Reagan Administration, and Mr. Williams was a White House correspondant. If you read Justice Thomas' autobiography, you would know this, and you would know that Justice Thomas certainly does not have time for intellectual lightweights.
