Senate Republican leaders on Tuesday said there should be an investigation of Attorney General Eric Holder, but stopped short of joining Sen. John Cornyns (R-Texas) call for his resignation.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) told reporters that many GOP lawmakers share Cornyns frustrations with the Justice Department.
We certainly need to have an investigation of what has happened, and I think John Cornyn speaks for a lot of us as to the frustration we feel about not only the national security leaks, the "Fast and Furious" matter there's been a whole litany of problems coming out of the Justice Department, McConnell said.
I'm listening carefully to what my colleagues are saying. I think we're all unhappy with the performance of the attorney general, he said.
Cornyn, a member of the Judiciary Committee and chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, called for Holder to step down at a Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday morning where the attorney general testified before lawmakers.
Youve violated the public trust in my view and by failing and refusing to perform the duties of your office, Cornyn told Holder.
Mr. Attorney General, it is more with sorrow than anger that I would say that you leave me no alternative but to join those who call upon you to resign your office.

Color of skin did not inhibit Obama from ascending to the Presidency of the United States.
Color of skin did not inhibit Holder from ascending to the position of Attorney General of the United States.
Being a pair of screwups will take them down, NOT racism.

If the GOP takes the Senate in 2012 and keeps Mitch McConnell as the leader, then I’m going to start actually voting for Dems for the first time in my life.
I’m tired of giving these cowards power only to have them stab us in the back over and over.

If you mean what I think you do, then I agree. Holder is a distinct loss for Obama. If Holder goes down, Zero will just appoint another Attorney General.
But the Repubs are right to publicly criticize him to keep his name in front of the voters. That doesn’t mean that they’re Rinos by not truly trying to get rid of Holder.

Actually I think this may be an orchestrated event and if is it actually orchestrated it is brilliant.
Cornyn has the clout as committee chair to ge the press to call out Holder
but McConnell takes away the media’s ability to criticize the Repubs on this issue
and you know the medai would be all over the GOP like they try to do on every other issue.
It is sad but many people actually believe it is the GOP who is preventing 0dumbo from turning things around, thanks to the medai
so in this case I think Cornyn and McConnell are hadnling it just right

Governor Sarah Palin has been chosen to headline the fifth annual Right Online Conference which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada June 15th and 16th. In addition to Palin, attendees will have the opportunity to hear Scott Rasmussen, Michelle Malkin, Jonah Goldberg, Dana Loesch, Guy Benson, Hugh Hewitt, Ann McElhinney, Lars Larson, Roger Hedgecock, S.E. Cupp, Rusty Humphries, and Congressman Joe Heck...I WONDER IF this topic will come up during the RIGHT ONLINE CONFERENCE later this week. My bet is it will be a hot topic during the meetings. Furthermore, i dont think Mitch and Johnny are gonna be lauded for their standoffishness during the sessions. If I were them..and they continue to fail to back Isis et al I'd be looking over my shoulder because SARAH IS PROFOUNDLY OUT OF CARIBOU...

Except for a few, this is what the GOP has become. It's past time for a third party. These people get away with being pansies because they know they can say and do anything because a large number of republican voters are too scare to even threaten to leave the party. Besides here and a few other places, where are the brave patriots ? FR is one of the few places you can find people not willing to compromise their souls. How many people here questioned in past elections how democrats who say they are Christians can vote for someone who is pro abortion and pro gay marriage/ gay adoption? Now if your not voting for Romney your criticize. Its so sad how people are compromising their values because of fear and no faith in God that if we rise up worked together we could take out romney. The fear and hate of one man is causing people to hold their nose and vote for someone who is a little less worse than romney is pathetic.

That doesnt mean that theyre Rinos by not truly trying to get rid of Holder.I agree. If Holder really wanted to help out his boss and alleviate some pressure, he'd take Cornyn's advice and resign.
Let Holder squirm for a little while longer in the light as more and more Americans learn just how corrupt this administration is. Resigning would be too easy.

Yeah....keep telling yourself that. Keep making excuses for them. This type of reasoning is why Congress is screwed up. These guys are more intent to play political games, than they are to stand for right and wrong and solve problems. Holder has proven to be a dirty scum bag. If these guys weren’t worthless self absorbed turds only intent to protect themselves, they would want to get rid of him rather than play poltical games. They and their defenders disgust me.

reid... pelosi... mcconnell... boehner... the only damned difference is their rhetoric... they believe and govern in ways that ensure identical outcomes. I despise the republican party every bit as much as the dim party... no actually more. They are supposed to represent to loyal opposition... but their loyalty is only to themselves and their wealth and power. There are only a few good souls in all of DC.

Since these cretins have never shown any tactical savvy during their entire careers... I think it highly unlikely that this is anything other than what it appears to be. These are not leaders here... these are the same two men that lied to us when they promised that Cut, Cap and Balance was the only legislation under consideration... while all of the time they were conspiring in secret meetings with pelosi, reid and obama... cutting a deal that slashed a half trillion dollars from our Military budget and a half trillion dollars from Medicare. They are who and what they are... and they are not leadership material.

Holder should be held accountable for what he did. Political gaming has to stop. Obama should be held accountable for what he has done also, but people like McConnell is giving the political hierarchy a pass, like we have seen so many times. Rules for the elitist and rules for the great unwashed.

Actually...
Not that it’s the intent of these gelding old RINOs, but this tact may pay off. The longer Holder twists in the political wind.. and he will... the more pain that can be applied to 0bama. American voters have the attention span of gnats, so leaving Holder in place for now will have a greater benefit in the long run that off-loading him now and letting him be a faded memory by November.
Holder is one of the most unpopular members of this regime. As such, that unpopularity should be leveraged to our benefit. If he goes, whoever takes his place won’t be any better anyway, so I say leave him in place and throw salt on the festering wound that he is.
He’s more valuable as Exhibit A of the planeload of evidence as to why the Obama cabal is so poisonous for this country.
