The Florida State Attorney's office has announced the wife of George Zimmerman - the defendant in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin - has been arrested on suspicion of perjury.
Her husband stands accused of second-degree murder after shooting the unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin dead, in what he says was self-defence, after claiming he had been attacked.
You’re totally missing the point, do you believe in right or wrong? It is totally irrelevant what I think about your questions. It is apparent that you believe Zimmerman and his wife are justified in commiting perjury. The end justifies the means. This is a slippery slope that you are on.
Lawyer retainer, hidden houses, security from death threats, no current income.
The question was how much money they had for bail... given the above costs, the answer was reasonable. If they had wanted to know bank account balances then they could have asked.
If you want to play ticky-tacky and nit pick their answers then that is the rules of the game... but those same rules get applied to the questions too. Splicing hairs goes both ways and the truth is the prosecution did a poor job of trying to pin her down on their finances... evidently they didn’t care at the time.
That 135K went into Trust administered independent of them under the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court for their legal fees and living expenses.
IOW they ain't got it no more. They are back to indigent, as if they ever left there in the first place.
"We used Rule .303!"
Perhaps you can point to the exact words that you believe to be perjury???
We learned from the Clintons that evasive answers are not perjury. They are evasive answers that the prosecution is supposed to follow up on and try to nail down. In this case the prosecution chose not to follow up. They let the words: "I don't know" stand. That was their error.
BTW Only Shellie has been charged not George. And she has only been charged not convicted. We won't charge you with perjury for that obvious misstatement.
Never said it was, Skeeter. I have not forgotten what this case is about at all. Not a chance.
At the time she perjured herself and said they were indigent they were not. They were recorded the day before on jailhouse tapes....with George telling her to transfer the paypal acct money to her credit union account. If they were indigent, she would not be charged with perjury. She lied. Hence the charge.

There have been numerous links showing the “alleged” perjury. LOL, she know enough to move around a great deal of money prior to the bail hearing. IMO, they have her cold on perjury. Zimmerman was present during her testimony and did not correct the record. They have shown that they are deceitful people. Zimmerman is on tape telling her to use some of the money to pay off all their bills. I would be embarrassed if I had contributed to this fund, finding out what he was using it to pay off debt, most likely incrued prior to the Martin incident.
Yes or no?
Has Zim has been a target of corrupt politically motivated, biased, over zealous, grandstanding government prosecutors, and been smeared by the White House itself?
Yes or no?
If ya answer yes, it totally impeaches the government's credibility from the beginning, and everything that follows, is part of a corrupt ugly political sham.
It is totally irrelevant what I think about your questions.
lol...
I know -- I'm the one who linked to them. How come you haven't read them???
she know enough to move around a great deal of money prior to the bail hearing.
She is not being charged with moving money but with perjury.
they have her cold on perjury.
Then point it out.
Zimmerman was present during her testimony and did not correct the record.
That is not his responsibility. He was not asked to and he is not required to. He can sit like a potted plant if he chooses. It's his Constitutional right.
They have shown that they are deceitful people.
Why??? For giving evasive answers like most people do in court where lawyers goes on fishing expeditions with their questions. It is the prosecution's job to ask the right questions, and keep asking, which they didn't do.
Zimmerman is on tape telling her to use some of the money to pay off all their bills.
Isn't that what you do with money -- pay bills. That is why people donated the money -- for their bills -- for their living expense bills and legal bills.
I would be embarrassed if I had contributed to this fund, finding out what he was using it to pay off debt, most likely incrued prior to the Martin incident.
Would you rather they not pay off their bills and be delinquent and file for bankruptcy???
George Zimmerman almost certainly acted in self defense and should never have been placed in the situation he's currently in. That he has to defend himself from the government while worrying about a bounty on his head by outlaws is what should be investigated.
The prosecution is acting like the lawbreaker here.
You are right - the government has the moral high ground here.
They want to put Zimmerman away for murder 2, so naturally they jail him for "lying" about his net worth.
Q: How much money is in that website right now? How much money as a result of that website was??
A: Currently, I do not know.
Q: Do you have an estimate as to how much money has already been obtained or collected?
A: I do not.

As discussed previously, while Defendant was in custody in the Seminole County Jail, Defendant made telephone calls that were recorded.
Defendant : Take care of my account so you can log in.
Shelly Zimmerman: Yeah I know.
at approximately ten minutes into the call the following conversation took place regarding Defendants financial circumstances:
Defendant: Youre going to take out $10 and keep it with you in cash, less than 10.
Shelly Zimmerman: Like $9
Defendant: Say about 10. Im wondering you have more than $10, right?
Shelly Zimmerman: Not with me
Defendant: You don't have access to more than $10 in your account?
Shelly Zimmerman: I do
Defendant: I have access to
Defendant: In your account
Shelly Zimmerman: Yeah
)
Defendant: In my account do l have at least $100?
Shelly Zimmerman: No
Defendant: How close am I?
Shelly Zimmerman: $8. $8.60
Defendant: Really? So total everything how much are we looking at?
Shelly Zimmerman: Like $155.
You left out this:
"For giving evasive answers like most people do in court where lawyers go on fishing expeditions with their questions. It is the prosecution's job to ask the right questions, and keep asking, which they didn't do."
You post like the prosecutor indicts -- editing out what is inconvenient.
Where is the perjury in what you posted????
A couple of things...
1. It appears George's brother was the only one with direct access to the account. Shelly Zimmerman stated as much on the stand and offered to ask him about the totals. Neither the Prosecution or the Judge were interested at that time.
2. The question is not so much about what was IN the Paypal account -those of us that have dealt with Paypal know that there is lag in funds availability while funds are verified etc..- it's what had been transfered, and available in the Zimmermans Credit Union accounts at the time of the bail hearing.
There’s something missing in that transcript. Oh here it is:

I don’t trust the “justice” system in this case.
Suddenly.....This is all about their finances!!!
Lets check their back taxes too...
Go over their taxes with a fine tooth government comb!
Who else to they owe?
The government should pull all their financial records going back 20 years!
Zim and his wife will now pay!! They got um!
Here ya go, since you two seem to believe every GD word the corrupt, arrogant politically and racially motivated, government tells ya!
