During the campaign the broadcasters had him in the booth and he said what a big fan he’s been for years and years. They asked his favorite, current or past.
Obama hesitated and said “all of them”.

He had an opportunity to mention Minnie Minosa (first black player), Ozzie Guillen, fan-favorite Harold Baines, Dick Allen, Luke Appling, etc...

It was quite obvious he didn’t know a SINGLE player by name. Past or present.

I believe he said ‘the Cubs are from Chicago, too’ but didn't name any of them. Then told the broadcasters that he actually grew up in Hawaii and the closest team was the Oakland A's. But didn't name any of them either. If we had any semblance of an independent Press in this country, Obama wouldn't have been able to get anywhere near the WH.

Life-long Chi-Sox fan here. First trip to Comiskey was about 1957, age 5.

Mr. Mendacity, as you said, couldn't mention a single player. And he said he remembers going down to Kominskey Park. I told my high school students that forgetting the name of Comiskey Park is on a par with forgetting your own name. A wonderful illustration for them of who he is. Like the video clip of John Edwards playing with his hair for several minutes. Students watched that one over and over. Says it all.
