Gay Flag Not Welcome in Media [PA] Memorial Day Parade (partial barf)
Patch.com ^ | May 29, 2012 | Roger Ricker

I had been asked to walk in the Media Memorial Day Parade, due to knowing the veterans for many years and working with them at Veterans Nights at The Media Theatre.

Ed Buffman had asked me to assist with carrying the PA Veterans Museum Banner, as has been done regularly several times before.

I had with me a Gay Pride Flag, one that was to memorialize all of this country's gays and lesbians who had died in the line of duty. I wanted to drape it over my shoulders as a quiet remembrance.

I was told point blank by Ed Buffman and the chair of the Veterans Museum, "No, you cannot have that in our parade. It's too political."

I am confused. Are not all wars political? Is being black political? Is being in a wheelchair because you have lost your legs in the war political?

Three other veterans agreed with Buffman, that it was too 'political.' (It was only after I left the PA Veterans Museum that I realized the entire parade was a political event!)

I saw Ed a second time on the street. In all honesty, I gave him a friendly "Boo" and thumbs down, as we have known each other for years.

A lesbian couple that he asked to play the bagpipes in the parade were standing with him. I said to him, "This flag is for the gays and lesbians who have lost their lives so you can live here today."

Tough S***, homo.

If you are so inclined, it might be worth it to email the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum and express your support for Chairman Ed Buffman's decision to keep their participation in Media's annual Memorial Day parade family-friendly and true to American heritage and values.

Shouldn’t the gay flag be pink and brown?

How do you tell? Do homosexuals go through some special ritual when they die? And do they really need their own flag—were they really fighting for sodomy all this time?

You know, seriously cant they just f*ck off with this gay pride s*it for one day! They just cant keep it in their pants!

Those people would like their service remembered, not having some moron activist get people to think about whom they liked to get it on with.

This was a day to honor those who fell in service to this Country. Not to honor homosexuals! Keep that crap in the closet, lest I put you in there with it!

I was at our Memorial Day parade yesterday. I did not see a “Black” flag or a “Wheelchair” flag.

Apparently the flag they saluted and fought under all during their enlistment wasnt good enough for this guy.

There is no proof that a gay or lesbian has ever been killed in the service of Our country.

And if they did serve Our country and die, all their honors previously bestowed upon them should be stripped as they were illegitimate in their service to our country, not unlike a communist spy.

If a member of the US Armed Forces dies in a war, isn’t he/she already memorialized as a hero on Memorial Day?

I find it bizarre that some people want to be known first for their sexual orientation before any other attribute of their character or service to others. If I liked to have sex with sheep and goats, what would go on in my mind before I would want that fact to take priority over whether I was honest, trustworthy, had a great sense of humor, loved to learn, or any other attribute?

Of the members of my household who have enlisted, they did not do it so sodomites would be free to enjoy their sexual practices. In fact, had they known that this would be a future factor in the land of the free, how many of the Greatest Generation have enlisted and risked their lives? Very few. More important, how many of the young men and women in the future are going to be willing to give their lives so sodomites are free to indoctrinate young public school children that same-sex marriage is “normal”?

On Memorial day we honor our dead not their sexuality.

May God forgive our nation for allowing this perversion to infect our children. Thank God for people like Ed Buffman, who is willing to do what is right, rather than what is politcally correct.
