The USS Illinois, the first Navy submarine to be staffed by an all-female crew, received the support of the White House on Memorial Day.
On Monday, First Lady Michelle Obama officially sponsored the Virginia-class submarine, which will be one of the newest nuclear-powered boats scheduled to enter the fleet by 2015, according to a White House statement.

It can not possibly work as submarines are supposed to go about their business unseen, unknown, silent and secret.
This one would surface at every ship siting in order to ask directions.
I think this may be an experiment worth trying.

I say group females separate from males across all military venues and specialties. That will reduce enlistments which is probably the goal anyway. Men will still be forced to serve with females and homosexuals and this will drive down male enlistments. It’s all about driving down enlistments so the United Nations can transform the U.S. into the ‘world force’ they’re looking for anyway.

This is just another example of how the Obamas don’t understand how the military works. Michelle sees the all woman crew as a cute photo opp. The military is there to defend our country. She and Barack don’t understand how the military or any other part of the government functions and never will.

The strength factor. Everything is heavy on ships/subs. On a mixed u-boat the gals would have male help not so with an all girl crew.
The Army had problems with women crews driving trucks because most could not change the tires.
And the Submarine brings special Psychological factors that are hard enough to overcome without distraction.
I’d love to watch an all female crew attempt a TDU weight load out....or even just a standard ship’s stores load. All that stuff is brought down by hand.
Hell, I’d like to see almost any female pick up just one box of TDU weights.
