On each Memorial Day weekend, though he lived to old age, my late father, who served in the Coast Guards during WW 2, he is with those of his fellow service people who had given their all during that war.

Hubby’s uncle (US Army sgt.) was killed in France in the very last days of WWII; after V-E Day everyone thought he would be coming home. Hubs never knew him.
