He just suggested some ways to save the government money. Make the Vice Presidency unsalaried (or $100 per diem for days he actually performs his duty of presiding over the Senate), and let him find his own housing. It’s not like a poor person ever gets elected V.P. In a pinch the V.P. could always make some money going around making speeches.
